Doug Goldstein, the longtime former manager of Guns N' Roses, has died at 65.

Goldstein's death was confirmed by the Appetite for Distortion podcast, and a cause of death was not immediately shared.

Goldstein was best known for working with Guns N' Roses during one of the most chaotic and successful periods in the band's history. He became involved with the band while they were promoting Appetite for Destruction, first working as a tour manager before later becoming co-manager alongside Alan Niven.

Before his work with Guns N' Roses, Goldstein had reportedly worked security for major rock acts including Van Halen, Heart and Black Sabbath. That background helped prepare him for the unusually demanding role of keeping one of rock's most unpredictable bands moving forward.

"Doug was much more than a former Guns N' Roses manager," Appetite for Distortion host Brandon Weissler told Ultimate Classic Rock. He described Goldstein as a "friendly ear" and "supportive voice," adding that he cared deeply about his friends, family and Guns N' Roses fans.

Goldstein's time with the band came during a defining era. Guns N' Roses formed in 1985 and became one of the biggest rock bands of the late 1980s after releasing Appetite for Destruction in 1987. The album produced classics including "Welcome to the Jungle," "Paradise City" and "Sweet Child o' Mine," helping turn the group into a major force in hard rock.

As the band's fame grew, Goldstein took on more responsibility inside the Guns N' Roses camp. He became especially close with frontman Axl Rose, remaining involved as the classic lineup began to fall apart and Rose continued work on Chinese Democracy.

Goldstein was often involved in some of the band's most turbulent moments, including the massive Use Your Illusion era and the internal strain that followed. Still, he later claimed that his loyalty came from genuine care, particularly for Rose.

In a reflection from Mick Wall's book Last of the Giants: The True Story of Guns N' Roses, Goldstein told Wall that his dedication to Rose had "zero to do with the money" and everything to do with the fact that he loved him.

Goldstein eventually retired in 2003, years before Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan reunited for the band's highly successful later tours. Looking back on that reunion period, Goldstein credited the band's current management for accomplishing something he said he could not.

His death marks the loss of a behind-the-scenes figure who helped guide Guns N' Roses through fame, conflict and some of the most memorable years in the band's career.

Paul Quinn, the founding guitarist of the beloved '70s rock band Saxon, has announced that he is heading on the road this fall for a short U.K. tour. The guitar legend shared the news on Wednesday via Instagram, providing a brief overview of what concert-goers can expect.

The six-date trek will take place across England, commencing on October 25 in Bristol at The Thunderbolt and concluding on October 30 in Preston at The Ferret. Joining the guitarist will be fellow Cards vocalist and bassist Harrison Young, who will serve as a moderator. The rock and roll band Adam and the Hellcats will also join the run as the opening act.

As a primary force behind the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Quinn's distinctive riffs helped define Saxon's signature sound on classic tracks such as "Wheels of Steel" and "Denim and Leather." This upcoming solo run follows his decision to step back from Saxon's rigorous heavy touring schedule, offering a rare opportunity for fans to see him in an entirely different element.

Toni Collette Said She Didn't Want to Star in Any More 'Heavy' Movies Before 'Hereditary'

In a 2018 interview with NowThis Impact, Collette said she wanted to take a break from emotionally devastating movies before she came across Aster's Hereditary script.

"I had said to my agents I don't want to do anything heavy. I felt like I was kind of accumulating a bit of emotional gunk. And I just wanted to do some comedies and some lighter work for a while, and then they sent me Hereditary," said the Oscar-nominated actress.

The fest, which included sets from The Kooks, The Last Dinner Party, Shed Seven, Rose Gray, David Gray, The Twilight Sad, Level 42, and Suzanne Vega, culminated in fireworks over the park, per Mountbatten Isle of Wight.

Fifty-four years ago, iconic '70s rock band Deep Purple released "Lazy"—a song that became a lasting rock classic despite never charting on the Billboard Hot 100.

"Lazy" was originally released on March 25, 1972 as the sixth track on their landmark studio album Machine Head. Following the album's release, the track saw major traction on FM radio stations as disc jockeys frequently spun it. After the song garnered steady listener demand, it was re-released as a promotional radio single in May 1972. The band's record label cut the track down to roughly four minutes from its original seven-minute runtime for a more radio-friendly format.

Because "Lazy" was never originally issued as a commercial single, it never garnered the sales momentum required to enter the mainstream Billboard Hot 100 chart. The primary charting single off the record to breach the top tier of the tally was "Smoke on the Water," which peaked at No. 4. Despite its lack of chart history, "Lazy" has persevered as one of the band's most beloved fan favorites.

Machine Head was Deep Purple's most commercially successful record, selling an estimated 36 million copies worldwide and peaking at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 LP chart. The parent album's global recognition prompted radio stations to play its deep cuts religiously, helping "Lazy" develop a massive cult following.

Produced by the band themselves, "Lazy" is notable for its fiery, blues-infused hard-rock sonics. The first four minutes of the piece act as a grooving instrumental jam session. Jon Lord opens the track with a Hammond organ playing a blues-scale style, while guitarist Ritchie Blackmore adds a heavy guitar riff and bassist Roger Glover and drummer Ian Paice join with a swinging rhythm response.

Halfway through the track, vocalist Ian Gillan comes into the mix, breaking away from his signature hard-rock grit to embody a smoother blues sound. Gillan completes the song's soundscape with a dynamic harmonica solo, complementing the existing instrumentation. As if Culture Club’s iconic earworm “Karma Chameleon” didn’t already get stuck in your head sometime in late 1983, Boy George apparently really wants it to sink in right now. The legendary performer recently released an AI-enhanced version of the ultra-catchy tune in honor of his 65th birthday. 

And while an entire generation may think it's a legend, the singer-songwriter says that in the beginning, everyone hated it. Believe it ot not, the classic Culture Club tune was almost never made. 

Just reading the name of the infectious ‘80s smash hit probably sets off a cascade of “Karma, karma, karma, karma, karma, chameleon, you come and fo, you come and go” in your brain. But according to George Dowd (a.k.a. Boy George), it didn’t receive a positive reception. At least, not at first. 

The Culture Club lead recalled the rest of the band’s initial reaction in a recent interview with PEOPLE, sharing, “The first time I sang it to the band, they all hated it.” 

And yes, we’re recoiling in shock right now. How could anyone possibly have anything but praise for the beyond-bubbly pop anthem that seemed happy on the outside, but was actually about changing your personality to fit someone else’s needs and the fear of alienation on the inside? But back to why he believes it was well-liked. 

Boy George continued, “So, I had to almost strong-arm the track onto the album Color by Numbers because we were going in a soulful direction, and the boys, I think, preferred that. But me being me, I like to throw a spanner in the works.”

Even though his band had doubts, the pop star was completely confident in ‘Karma Chameleon.’ “I knew that song was going to be a hit. I mean, I was absolutely adamant it was going to be No. 1, even though I really had no experience to base it on.”

Going back 42 years later and rerecording the hit is something that was more than just a fun thing to do for Boy George. He revealed to PEOPLE that the song is “massively powerful and iconic in connection to who I am and what I’ve created.” 

In terms of revisiting the track in 2026 with an AI assist, he recently said to The Hollywood Reporter, “This gives me an opportunity, not just me, but other artists, to have a different relationship with those songs,” and “It has the sound of me at 22 years old with all the experience of everything that I’ve learned.” 

While his bandmates weren’t exactly keen on the tune at first, luckily, they eventually agreed with George. ‘Karma Chameleon’ hit No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in February of 1984 and stayed there for three weeks. So yes, he was right!

There's been more communication between an anonymous emailer and TMZ regarding the Nancy Guthrie case.

On Friday, June 26, TMZ’s Harvey Levin appeared on Fox News, where he discussed the latest email the outlet received from someone claiming to have information about Guthrie’s disappearance.

Levin told Will Cain that the outlet had received another message from the same individual who previously claimed to have video footage of alleged kidnappers and Guthrie.

Earlier in the day, TMZ reported that the email sender requested one bitcoin in exchange for the location of a hidden mobile phone and its passcode, claiming it contains footage that would allegedly identify the names and addresses of two individuals they say are responsible for Guthrie’s disappearance.

According to Levin, he responded to Friday's initial email by requesting a screengrab of Guthrie as proof that the sender actually possesses the footage they claim to have. The emailer replied that they are unable to provide any such material because they fear the alleged kidnappers may already know who they are.

Levin added that it is unclear whether law enforcement intends to pursue or respond to the request, noting that authorities may believe the emailer could be attempting a scam.

These new updates come after reports surfaced about different ransom notes that were sent to news stations just after Guthrie vanished on Feb. 1. One of those notes demanded bitcoin in exchange for Guthrie and a second note reportedly stated that Guthrie had died. Per NBC News, whoever sent the second ransom note did not ask for any money.

Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine had some unfortunate news for his fans.

The American singer and guitarist announced on Instagram that due to his mother returning to the hospital, Morello has decided to head home and look after her. His mother, Mary, is 102 years old and is also an activist like her son.

"My dear mom, Mary Morello, is back in the hospital and I’m headed home to help look after her," the musician said in a statement. "Rocking the UK & Europe with you all this summer has been incredible, and I cant wait to be back with you and continue this movement that we started."

Morello was scheduled to perform at multiple European music festivals this upcoming weekend, including Oslo's Tons of Rock Festival in Norway and the BBK Music Legends Festival in Spain. He was also supposed to have solo shows in Paris and London next Monday and Tuesday, respectively. Refunds for these concerts will now be issued at the point of purchase.

The sudden cancellation comes two days after Morello announced on Instagram that he had locked in new dates for these shows, which were originally postponed because he had to step away from the road due to a family emergency involving Mary Morello.

Despite the sad news, fans sent Morello and his mom tons of love on social media. According to many comments, Mary Morello was a high school history teacher and seemed to make an impact on many of her students.

"Family first. Mary Morello is a national treasure. Give her a hug and a kiss from all your fans," a fan commented.

"Mary was my father’s favorite teacher at Libertyville HS. I play him Rage while he tells me stories about her and how much she talked about you," another user commented. "We wish her a speedy recovery."

Born in New York City and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Morello became interested in politics and music in high school. He attended Harvard University and graduated with a degree in social studies. His mom was also an activist and a founder of the anti-censorship group Parents for Rock and Rap in 1987. Before that, Mary was involved in the Civil Rights Movement and the NAACP, and was a social studies and U.S. history teacher at Libertyville High School.

The 62-year-old musician has publicly praised his mother and her activism efforts multiple times, writing that she was "still the most radical and most popular member of the Morello family" on her 96th birthday in 2019.

Morello is best known for his tenures with Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, as well as being a member of the supergroup Prophets of Rage and touring with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. He is also loud and proud about his socialist political views, and began his solo project, The Nightwatchman, for those ideas in 2003.

Sixty-one years after the Grateful Dead first came together in California and forever changed American music, a major new exhibition will celebrate not only the band's songs but also the artwork, technology and fan culture that made it one of rock's most enduring phenomena.

Opening July 3 at the Haight Street Art Center in San Francisco, Forever Grateful brings together more than 400 pieces of artwork, instruments, photographs, posters, vinyl records and memorabilia chronicling the band's remarkable journey from 1965 through 1995. The exhibition also marks the art center's 10th anniversary.

One of the exhibition's biggest attractions is a fully operational one-quarter-scale recreation of the Grateful Dead's legendary Wall of Sound. Designed to play live recordings from throughout the band's career, the installation recreates one of the most ambitious concert sound systems ever built and gives visitors a chance to experience the audio innovation that became central to the band's live performances.

The exhibition arrives just months after the Grateful Dead opened another chapter of its legacy with the launch of Play Dead, an official streaming platform that unlocks decades of restored live recordings from the band's legendary vault. Together, the digital archive and Forever Grateful offer fans new ways to experience the music, artwork and culture that have kept the Grateful Dead's influence alive more than six decades after the band formed.

The new art installation also explores the artists who helped define the Grateful Dead's unmistakable visual identity. Visitors will also see the original illustration that inspired the band's iconic Skull and Roses album artwork.

"Forever Grateful celebrates the spirit, artistry, and cultural influence that made the Grateful Dead not just a band, but a phenomenon," exhibition advisor and Grateful Dead historian Dennis McNally said in a statement.

The celebration will continue later this year with a second Forever Grateful exhibition opening Sept. 5 at Golden Gate Park's Hall of Flowers, featuring immersive performances and additional artifacts connected to the band's extraordinary legacy.

If you’ve purchased ready-to-bake cookie dough at Target recently, you’ll need to check your refrigerator, as a voluntary recall has been issued due to an allergen risk.

According to a recall notice published by the Food and Drug Administration, one lot of Bakr Brown Butter Chocolate Chunk Ready To Bake Cookie Dough pouches has been voluntarily recalled by Bear Stewart LLC of Chicago, Illinois. The FDA alert indicates that the product may contain undeclared soy, which could cause a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if consumed by people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy.

The Bakr Brown Butter Chocolate Chunk Ready To Bake Cookie Dough, which was sold in the freezer section of Target, comes in an 8-ounce blue package. Affected products have lot number 2606022, which can be found on the bottom left corner of the back of the pouch. The affected pouches were distributed to Target stores starting on June 11, 2026, in Southern California, Southern Nevada, Arizona, and Utah.

As of publication, no illnesses associated with the affected product have been reported. According to the FDA notice, “the recall was initiated after it was discovered that product containing soy was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of soy.” It continued, explaining that a temporary issue in packaging processes caused S’mores cookies to be packed into Brown Butter Chocolate Chunk pouches.

Customers who purchased the affected product are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Furthermore, consumers with questions regarding the recall are asked to call Bear Stewart at 1-800-697-BEAR.

A lesser-known thriller starring Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore, which premiered last year, shot to the top of the Apple TV+ charts. It even dethroned Brad Pitt's Oscar-nominated blockbuster, F1.

Echo Valley has become the #1 movie on Apple TV as of June 24, per Flix Patrol. Beating the likes of Outcome, The Gorge, Fountain of Youth, The Family Plan, Greyhound, The Family Plan 2, Eternity, and Emancipation. 

Sydney Sweeney even acknowledged the film's achievement on her Instagram Stories. It is one of her most underrated projects, never picking up the same attention as The Housemaid, Euphoria or Christy.

Echo Valley was directed by Michael Pierce and written by Mare of Eastown's Brad Ingelsby. It co-starred alongside Sweeney and Moore, Domhall Gleeson, Fiona Shaw and Kyle MacLachlan.

The film centers on Kate Moore, a grieving widow and horse trainer living on an isolated Pennsylvania farm. Her life spirals when her troubled, drug-addicted daughter, played by Sweeney, arrives unannounced. The thriller explores how far a mother's love will go as her daughter becomes involved in a conspiracy bigger than them both. Moore describes the movie to Variety as: “It’s a domestic drama wrapped in a thriller, which is very unusual.”

Sweeney went to great lengths for the role, studying people struggling with substance issues. “I watched a lot of videos. There’s a YouTube series of this guy that interviews people on Skid Row that have struggled with addiction and are [still] currently. I watched a lot of them and drew from different stories that they would tell or mannerisms that they have,” she told Variety.

The film received a mixed critical reception and only a 55% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie had a limited release in cinemas before landing on Apple TV+ a week later. It seems to have gained a new life as Sweeney's popularity rises.

For generations of families living south of Atlanta, the local amusement park in Fayetteville, Georgia, was a staple of childhood. Fun Spot America just announced that its Atlanta-area location will permanently close its gates for good, locking in its final day of operation for August 2, 2026.

While the park has welcomed millions of guests over its lifetime, operators dropped the news without citing a specific reason for the sudden shuttering, though industry insiders point to recent financial performance struggles and the uphill battle of marketing a year-round park in the regional Georgia market.

"This was an extremely difficult decision," says John Arie Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Fun Spot America, adding that the company is incredibly proud of the decades of memories built in Fayetteville. "Our Atlanta team has poured their hearts into serving our guests and creating a place where families could have fun together."

For anyone holding current Fun Spot Atlanta season passes or unredeemed gift cards, those credits will stay fully active and valid in Georgia through the final closing day. After August 2nd, the family-owned company has confirmed it will continue to fully honor those passes and gift cards down south at its flagship Florida locations in Orlando and Kissimmee.
