‘Age of Attraction’: Derrick Dated Another Cast Member After Pfeifer

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 8:17am

Sadly, viewers don't get to see everyone who participates in Netflix reality series. If producers not to follow them, then they're background characters.

However, sometimes the stars we do watch reconnect with other cast members after the season. Derrick Fleming and Pfeifer Hill's relationship ended after filming Age of Attraction, but he reportedly made another connection away from the cameras.

Derrick of ‘Age of Attraction’ and Angel Reportedly Dated Angel Martinez in 'Age of Attraction' Season 1.

Lindsay Siu/Netflix

Derrick, 43, attended the reunion without Pfeifer, 23, and claimed she ended the relationship. TMZ reported that Derrick dated Angel Martinez, and they told others they were a couple after reaching out in December 2025. However, he denied this.

"I haven’t dated anyone seriously since leaving the show," Derrick told the outlet. "I’ve definitely went on dates since but nothing serious and nothing has materialized. When I do get to know someone I typically do that in private."

Her profile on Tudum reveals she's closer to the single dad's age at 46. She lives in Denver, CO and admits to being attracted to bad boys. Angel is the founder and CEO of of Angel Aesthetics.

They reportedly visited each other's homes despite Derrick living in Dallas, TX. Derrick ended the relationship in February before the new show premiered.

Pfeifer revealed she has moved on from Derrick and is in a new relationship on TikTok. She went to Japan to celebrate her birthday with her boyfriend, instead of attending the reunion. The student claimed her relationship with Derrick ended on good terms, but denied his claimed that her friends influenced her to stop dating him instead of moving to live with him.

I’ve Visited Paris Countless Times—These Are the Best Hotels for a Stay in the City of Light

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 8:10am

There are cities you visit once. And then there’s Paris, a place that has unfolded slowly for me over the years, with each stay revealing something new.

One of the perks of having a Parisian-born and bred husband is you will inevitably get the opportunity to visit France's most famous city much more than the average person—in fact, I highly recommend it. As a result, I’ve spent the last 15 years of our relationship traveling to Paris with him not to mention on research and work-related trips, so I know the hotel scene pretty well.

I’ve had the opportunity to stay in grand palace hotels dripping in gilded moldings, intimate boutique properties filled with art and other treasures, and stylish newcomers trying to redefine Parisian luxury. Some live up to the fantasy, and some surprise you in ways that make you want to book your next trip before you’ve even left.

Like any big city, Paris is filled with options. If you’re planning a stay in the City of Light, these are the Paris hotels I have visited and can confidently recommend depending on what kind of experience you’re after.

Best Romantic: Hôtel Plaza Athénée

Courtesy of Dorchester Collection / Hôtel Plaza Athénée

Located on Avenue Montaigne, the epicenter of haute couture and polished glamour, the hotel is instantly recognizable for its red awnings and flower-draped façade. It’s iconic, yes, but what keeps it from feeling like a cliché is how genuinely transportive it is once you’re inside.

This is where I tell couples to book for proposals, milestone birthdays, or that once-in-a-lifetime anniversary trip. Part of that is the setting.

Many rooms offer classic wrought-iron balconies with postcard views of the Eiffel Tower, and the hotel was even made famous for it on "that" episode of Sex and the City. Watching the city’s most precious symbol sparkle from your own private terrace feels cinematic in a way that somehow never gets old.

It’s also home to one of Paris’s most beautiful courtyards, La Cour Jardin. In the warmer months, it’s lush and impossibly charming, ideal for lingering over breakfast or an afternoon glass of rosé.

Even by Parisian standards, Plaza Athénée is indulgent. But that’s the point. The city is meant to be indulgent, and this is a stay I can guarantee you’ll think and talk about for years.

Best Historic Luxury: Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris

Courtesy of Mandarin Oriental

On the Left Bank in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Hôtel Lutetia carries a different kind of glamour—one that feels literary, intellectual and deeply Parisian.

Originally opened in 1910, Lutetia has long been associated with artists, writers and cultural figures who shaped modern Paris. After a painstaking restoration, the hotel now blends its historic Art Deco bones with contemporary refinement and luxuruious details. One of my favorite parts of a stay here: They monogram your pillowcases and they even monogrammed a special dog towel as a pet amenity when I traveled with my pup.
Rooms are spacious by Paris standards and beautifully appointed in rich blues, with subtle nods to the building’s history. The spa is one of the most impressive in the city, anchored by a striking mosaic-lined pool that feels cathedral-like.

What makes Lutetia my pick for historic luxury is its atmosphere. You feel the weight of history here, but never in a dusty way. It constantly feels alive, and attracts the kind of guests worthy of a few extra minutes of people watching at breakfast—served in Brasserie Lutetia, it's also one of my favorite spreads in town.

Best Near Major Sights: Hotel Edouard 7

Courtesy of Hotel Edouard 7

For travelers who want to walk everywhere, Hotel Edouard 7 is hard to beat. Located between Opéra Garnier and Place Vendôme, the hotel sits in the middle of some of the city’s most iconic sites—not to mention closeby to the world’s most beautiful department store (in my humble opinion), Galerie Lafayette.

Rooms at Hotel Edouard 7 are a testament to Parisian elegance with a hard to produce, je ne sais quoi French flair that marries classical charm and modern touches in a bold-yet-refined way. Rooms also feature luxury bath amenities, flat screen TVs, and many have views over the spellbindingly beautiful Opéra.

Beyond the rooms, a highlight of Hotel Edouard 7 is its cozy, tucked away bar with a menu full of lovely wines, signature cocktails and enticing, creative libations.

Best New Hotel: SAX Paris, LXR Hotels & Resorts

SAX Paris, LXR Hotels & Resorts

Paris does not open new luxury hotels lightly, which is why the recent debut of SAX Paris feels particularly noteworthy. The design is something different for Paris that doesn’t lose sight of its surroundings—expect cleaner lines, rich textures and thoughtfully curated art with stylish panache.

Located in the 7th arrondissement, SAX Paris feels more residential than many of the city’s tourist-heavy pockets, making it an ideal home base for travelers seeking a more authentic neighborhood experience.

Kinugawa Rive Gauche, the rooftop restaurant, is a beautiful space blending the best of French and Japanese, but it’s the breakfast-time views of the Eiffel Tower from the restaurant and bar that make a stay here especially memorable. The hotel’s garden area, complete with a heated outdoor pool and Jacuzzi, is another standout perk and a rarity in central Paris. There’s also an on-site spa, sauna, hammam and 24-hour fitness center, giving guests plenty of opportunities for wellness-focused downtime between museum and nearby landmark visits.

Best Hotel for Food Lovers: Fauchon L’Hôtel Paris

Courtesy of Fauchon Paris

Fauchon L’Hôtel Paris is what happens when a legendary gourmet brand decides to design a hotel around indulgence.

Named after the world-renowned Fauchon food purveyor, the five-star boutique property fully embraces French joie de vivre. From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed into the Library with a cocktail and macarons of the day.

The hotel’s signature feature is the in-room Gourmet Bar, anchored by a custom pink Roche Bobois armoire stocked with Fauchon treats and a complimentary bottle of champagne.

Beyond the sweets, the hotel offers a spa, fitness center, and restaurant with a seasonal terrace and tea garden near Place de la Madeleine.

For travelers who build itineraries around meals, markets, and pâtisseries, this is the Paris hotel that understands exactly what you’re looking for.

Best Boutique Near the Eiffel Tower: Hôtel Le Walt

Courtesy of Hotel Le Walt

If your dream Paris includes morning walks by the Eiffel Tower, Hôtel Le Walt places you exactly where you want to be, without the large hotel energy.

Located near the Champ de Mars, this intimate boutique property feels quietly residential. It’s the kind of hotel where art lines the walls, staff greet you by name, and returning after a day of exploring feels like stepping back into your own Paris apartment.

Rooms are charming and thoughtfully designed, with classic Parisian details and comfortable touches that make longer stays especially easy. Many overlook quiet streets lined with Haussmann buildings.

What makes Le Walt stand out is balance. I love being steps from one of the world’s most recognizable landmarks, yet removed from the heavy tourist flow. For first-time visitors who want proximity without chaos and their best shot at an Eiffel Tower view (without breaking the bank), I think it's a smart and refined choice.

Nancy Guthrie Case Takes Dark Turn as TMZ Notes Reveal Chilling New Claims

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 8:03am

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1, and Harvey Levin is now sharing some new information about the notes that TMZ has received in regard to her disappearance.

On Monday, April 6, TMZ received two new notes from someone asking for 1 Bitcoin in exchange for information that will lead investigators to the people responsible for Guthrie's kidnapping. Later in the day, Levin sat down with Ashleigh Banfield to chat about the notes on the Drop Dead Serious podcast.

"We've gotten more than a half dozen emails from this person. This is somebody who says they know who the kidnappers are, plural, and where Nancy Guthrie is," Levin said after receiving two notes from this person on Monday, April 6.

"Now he wants half a Bitcoin and he will divulge the location," Levin continued, confirming that the person claims that Guthrie is in Sonora, Mexico, and that she is dead. He said that the person who sent the email—presuming it's the same person—previously claimed that Guthrie had died just over a week after she was kidnapped.

Levin confirmed that all communications have been sent to the FBI and confirms that no money has been deposited in the supplied Bitcoin account.

"I've talked to the FBI and I, frankly, said to them, 'look, I'm not you and you clearly know a heck of a lot more than me. But my spidey senses are just telling me something about this guy,'" Levin continued. He said that the sender has repeatedly said this isn't a hoax and that he understands the consequences if this was, in fact, a hoax.

Levin went on to recall what was in the previously sent emails back in February. In one note, the sender said that "time was of the essence." The very next day, another note was sent, presumably by the same person, saying "time is no longer of the essence." Levin pointed out that he doesn't think someone who was making this stuff up would "take the immediacy away" by insinuating that Guthrie was no longer alive. Levin said that made him think these messages have been "legit."

Elsewhere in the podcast, Levin referenced the alleged ransom notes that were sent to TMZ and other news stations demanding some $6 million in Bitcoin at the start of the investigation for the return of Guthrie. Levin said that the FBI believed those notes were legitimate and worked with the IT team at TMZ for "hours and hours and hours" but couldn't trace them back to the sender. The FBI allegedly tried to track the Bitcoin address as well, but it "didn't work," according to Levin.

He also said that the person who sent those particular notes threatened to kill Guthrie if the ransom demands were not met. He said he isn't sure if she died due to being killed or not having her medication or, perhaps, something else entirely.

Now, about two months later, Levin says, "This is a cold case. They're just waiting for one of those breaks that often comes, but they are at a dead end right now."

Behind the Scenes of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’: The Secrets Audiences Never See (Exclusive)

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 8:00am

Step inside the dressing room at Broadway’s Lyric Theatre, and the world of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child feels just plain magical.

Stars Aidan Close and Emmet Smith, who play Scorpius Malfoy and Albus Potter, respectively, welcomed Parade for a behind-the-scenes look at the space they call “the best apartment in Manhattan.” Rent-free, of course.

🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

The room itself is a mix of organized chaos and deeply personal touches. It’s filled with fan art, sentimental keepsakes and even a snow globe featuring a stage manager’s face (a hilariously thoughtful Secret Santa gift.) There’s also a chair gifted by Tom Felton. Yes,the Draco Malfoy himself, though Close admits he’s never quite figured out how to recline it.

But beneath the humor is a serious dedication to craft. To prepare for his role, Close read all the Harry Potter books for the first time, color-coding notes by character, location and spells to fully understand Scorpius’ world. “

The more I know about the world, the more my imagination can grow,” he explained.

Related: ‘Harry Potter’ Actor Is ‘Sick’ of Talking About It and Refuses to Return

The production is known for its technical complexity. Between illusions, fight sequences and fast-paced staging, the actors are constantly on the move, sometimes with as many as 19 quick changes per show, many under a minute. Smith likens the rapid-fire costume swaps happening backstage to the work of a “NASCAR pit crew.”

And then there’s the magic itself.

While audiences marvel at spells and effects, the actors are juggling real-life challenges like occasionally forgetting a wand mid-scene. Close laughed as he described improvising his way through one such moment: “No one can know!” he said, miming an invisible wand beneath his cloak. “The power of live theater!”

That unpredictability is part of what keeps the show fresh, even after hundreds of performances. Smith shared that the cast actively works to avoid autopilot, setting new intentions each night. “Once you feel like nothing can go wrong, that’s when something does,” he said.

Related: 2010’s Classic Production Ranked Best ‘Broadway Show’ Right Now

Offstage, the pre-show rituals are important. Close listens to classical music “like a pretentious actor,” he joked, and writes a note before each performance to ground himself in Scorpius’ emotional journey. After the show, it’s all about decompressing, whether that means fan interactions at the stage door or a late-night bowl of cereal to refuel.

And yes, there are plenty of quirks.

From a mysterious collection of rubber ducks that keep appearing around the dressing room to a disco light used to boost morale on tougher nights, the space reflects both the intensity and joy of performing eight shows a week.

Even working alongside Tom Felton adds to that energy. “He’s like a giddy theater kid,” Smith said. “You forget he’s Tom Felton because he’s just as excited to be here as we are.”

And judging by the laughter, chaos and heart inside that dressing room, it’s safe to say the magic is very real.

Kelly Clarkson Reveals Strategy Behind 'The Voice' All-Star Showdown Win — And the Singer She Feared Most (Exclusive)

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 8:00am

Monday night was the first-ever The Voice All-Star Showdown with former winners and fan-favorite artists of coaches Kelly ClarksonJohn Legend, and Adam Levine returning for a new competition.

Representing Team Adam was Javier Colón (Season 1 winner) and Jordan Smith (Season 9 winner); for Team Kelly, it was Jake Hoot (Season 17 winner) and Girl Named Tom (Season 21 winner); and for Team Legend, it was Maelyn Jarmon (Season 16 winner) and Renzo (Season 27).

Each artist performed a song that they previously sang on The Voice with the winners of each battle decided by OG coach CeeLo Green, who promised to call it like he saw it. The coach with the most wins got a terrific bonus. They would get to take two of their team members to the finale instead of one.

The first battle was Girl Named Tom vs Renzo, with Girl Name Tom named the champions. Then it was Maelyn Jarmon vs Jordan Smith with a surprise result: Maelyn won. And finally, it was Jake Hoot vs Javier Colón with Jake emerging victorious and giving Kelly the second victory she needed to become the winning coach.

“It was amazing to see Cee Lo Green be floored by these individuals that I knew what they're capable of, so it was really cool to have that extra win, to be able to bring somebody else to the table,” Kelly told Parade on a Zoom call with two other reporters. “I definitely rubbed it in the [other coaches] faces.”

The way it worked was that the first coach was announced and they revealed which one of their artists would be singing. Then the second coach got to pick which of their artists they best felt could go up against that artist.

“John and I were both worried about Jordan Smith,” Kelly admitted to Parade. “We were pretty worried about Jordan, but at the same time the thing I love about the people that have been on my teams in general, I choose a wide net.”

Related: Kelly Clarkson Faces Heartbreaking Final Choice in The Voice Knockouts — Which Singer Will Make the Semifinals?

As for why Kelly chose Jake and Girl Named Tom as her competitors, she said, “Jake Hoot is so great at what he does. He's one of those people … when we got in rehearsal, I was like, ‘You need to just stand there flat-footed and sing that damn song, because he's got such a beautiful… George Strait’s one of my favorite singers of all time, one of my favorite artists that I grew up with.  It's one of those things: Understand the artist you are and be OK with that. He was competing against people that were doing different things and all the runs, and I was like, ‘Your best bet is to just be you. That's all you should do.’

Jake Hoot, Girl Named Tom

“He even came back and sang ‘Desperado” even better, which I didn't think was possible. He's just such a great vocalist. He’s such a tall man that it's like this big sound coming out of him. He's been one of my favorites that has won. I knew I was going to bring back two of my winners, and I knew that Girl Named Tom had to be one, too, because that family harmony, in my opinion and I’m obviously biased, but I've heard other coaches say it, too, that they're the best group that's ever won on that show hands down.

“Their harmonies are incredible. It's a family thing. It's growing up around people that instinctively know what the others will do. It's just a level of commitment and discipline that not many groups have. They did ‘Dust in the Wind.’ It was even better if it could have been, and it made me tear up because I was so excited about them coming back.”

To date, Kelly has four wins to her name. Jake Hoot, Girl Named Tom, Brynn Cartelli and Chevel Shepherd.

“I'm super proud of them,” she says. “Not because they won. I'm super proud of them because all those artists are still working hard, playing shows. They won, but it's still a grind. That's what I'm saying. It doesn't matter if you win or don't, it's still a grind playing shows, and making a living doing what they love.”

The Voice airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on Peacock.

Beloved National Park Event Is Officially Canceled— But Here’s What’s Still on for 2026

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 7:56am

If you were planning a trip to Crater Lake National Park this year, there’s a major update you’ll want to know: one of the park’s most anticipated annual events has officially been canceled for 2026.

While that news may feel like a setback, especially for travelers who plan their trips around unique experiences, there’s still plenty to look forward to both within the park and across the broader national park scene.

What Event Was Cancelled and Why?

The canceled event is Ride the Rim, a fan-favorite cycling experience that temporarily closes sections of Rim Drive to vehicle traffic. This allows cyclists to ride along the caldera with uninterrupted views of Crater Lake’s deep blue water, something that’s nearly impossible during normal park operations.

The cancellation stems from major infrastructure work and safety concerns.

Ongoing rehabilitation of the Cleetwood Cove Trail, the only legal access point to the lake’s shoreline, is a significant, multi-year project. Because this area is essential for visitor movement and park operations, the construction has ripple effects across logistics, staffing, and safety planning.

As a result, park officials decided to cancel Ride the Rim for 2026 to prioritize long-term improvements and visitor safety.

♬ Save My Soul - noahrinker What’s Still Open at Crater Lake?

Here’s the good news: the park itself is still very much open. Even without Ride the Rim, there are still incredible ways to explore:

  • Scenic drives: Rim Drive remains one of the most breathtaking routes in the U.S.
  • Hiking: Trails along the rim offer panoramic views without needing lake access
  • Photography: Sunrise and sunset views here are unmatched
  • Slower travel: Fewer crowds mean more space to enjoy the park at your own pace

National Park Events Still Happening in 2026

If Ride the Rim was part of a bigger travel plan, you’re not out of options. There are still plenty of exciting outdoor and national park–adjacent events happening across the country:

Scenic Cycling Experiences
  • Ride the Hurricane – Olympic National Park, August 2, 2026: A rare opportunity to bike up Hurricane Ridge Road without cars, offering sweeping mountain and coastal views.
  • Grand Canyon XP – Grand Canyon National Park, September 2–5, 2026: A rugged gravel and mountain biking experience along the North Rim, combining adventure with epic scenery.
  • White Rim Trail MTB Tour – Canyonlands National Park, Various 2026 dates: A multi-day backcountry ride through one of Utah’s most dramatic desert landscapes.
  • Tour de Fronds – Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, June 20, 2026: A scenic and challenging ride not far from Crater Lake, perfect for those still planning a Pacific Northwest trip.

If you’re open to exploring beyond national park boundaries, these rides are also worth considering:

More Than Just Cycling

Even if cycling events were your main focus, 2026 is still a great year to explore national parks in different ways. Ranger-led programs, scenic drives, wildlife viewing, and hiking experiences continue across parks nationwide.

Yes, it’s disappointing to see Ride the Rim canceled at Crater Lake National Park. But it’s far from a reason to cancel your trip. Between the park’s incredible natural beauty and the wide range of other events happening across the country, 2026 is still full of opportunities for adventure. You may just discover a new favorite experience along the way.

Steven Spielberg Praises 'Dune' As One of 'My Favorite Sci-Fi Movies, Not Just Recently, But of All Time'

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 7:52am

As one of the most iconic directors to ever take root in the science fiction genre, it's safe to assume Steven Spielberg knows a thing or two about how to make a great sci-fi movie.

The legendary director behind such fabled classics as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. and War of the Worlds, Spielberg has routinely found new ways to reinvent the trajectory of science fiction, leaving audiences across the globe awestruck with the finished results.

When it comes to his own favorite sci-fi movies, however, Spielberg has been quick to single out Denis Villeneuve's recent Dune adaptations as some of his personal favorite movies of all time.

“Recently, I’ve loved the Dune movies," the 79-year-old Oscar winner toldEmpire magazine. "They are among my favorite science-fiction movies, not just recently, but of all time. Especially the second film."

Moving on in his acclaim of the film, Spielberg mentioned how impressed he was by Dune: Part Two in particular, calling it Villeneuve's best film to date. He also expressed his personal excitement at the highly anticipated third film in the franchise, heaping praise on Villeneuve's abilities as a director.

“I think [Part Two] is the best movie Denis has ever made," Spielberg said. "I cannot wait to see the third one. I’m sure he’ll show it to me early. I’m such a fan of his.”

"I love the [Dune] books, and I just think his tribute to the books is like Guillermo [del Toro]’s tribute to Mary Shelley with Frankenstein: he honored Mary Shelley as I think Denis honored Frank Herbert,” the director went on to say.

In terms of his own contributions to science fiction, Spielberg officially returns to the genre with his upcoming film Disclosure Day. Spielberg's first film since 2022's The Fabelmans,Disclosure Day arrives in theaters on June 12, 2026.

Crumbl’s New Take on the Sandwich Cookie Is Inspired by a Viral Global Dessert Trend

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 7:42am

Crumbl is back with another take on Dubai chocolate.

Dubai chocolate went viral on social media around 2024 when Maria Vehera, a content creator, posted an ASMR video of eating the now-popular sweet treat from Fix Dessert Chocolatier.

Crumbl, a company also known for its viral desserts, introduced its take on the chocolate confection with its Dubai Chocolate Brownie in August of 2025. Later, they released their Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake and a strawberry iteration of the brownie. Now, they’ve released the Dubai-Style Chocolate Sandwich Cookie.

Available only between April 6-11, Crumbl’s new dessert has two thin, crispy, chewy chocolate cookies sandwiched with a layer of pistachio and Kataifi filling. This dessert is featured on their weekly rotating menu alongside returning cookies like Blueberry Muffin, Snickers Peanut Butter and Raspberry Lemonade.

Crumbl’s new dessert comes on the heels of their announcement that they’ve made a major company move. On social media, the co-founder of the bakery chain, Sawyer Hemsley, offered a glimpse inside the new headquarters.

56 Years Ago Today, ’60s Screen Legend Won the Best Actor Award at the Oscars

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 7:30am

John Wayne reached a monumental moment in his career after winning a prestigious title at the 42nd Academy Awards, 56 years ago today.

On April 7, 1970, he finally received the recognition he had long deserved, claiming his first and only Oscar.

For the coveted award, he triumphed against fellow nominees Richard Burton for Anne of the Thousand Days, Dustin Hoffman for Midnight Cowboy, Peter O'Toole for Goodbye Mr. Chips and the legendary Jon Voight for Midnight Cowboy.

Taking the role of one-eyed and bad-tempered U.S. Marshal Reuben J. "Rooster" Cogburn, his stunning portrayal in True Grit earned him the film industry’s highest honor.

Presented by Barbra Streisand, Wayne delivered a witty yet humble speech as he expressed his deep gratitude for such an iconic distinction.

“Wow! If I'd have known that I would have put that patch on thirty-five years earlier,” he mentioned in his speech, adding, “Ladies and gentlemen, I'm no stranger to this podium. I've come up here and picked up these beautiful golden men before, but always for friends. One night, I picked up two: one for Admiral John Ford, one for our beloved Gary Cooper. I was very clever and witty that night, the envy of even Bob Hope, but tonight I don't feel very clever or very witty. I feel very grateful, very humble, and all thanks to many, many people. I want to thank the members of the Academy. To all you people who are watching on television, thank you for taking such a warm interest in our glorious industry. Good night.”

Wendy's Is Giving Away Free Fries and Frosty Today, April 7

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 7:20am

In honor of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship Game last night, Wendy's is officially set to give away free fries and Frosty orders today, April 7.

The new limited-time promotion, fittingly titled Free Dunks for America, is specifically meant to commemorate the first dunk ever made during the Men's Championship Game, marking a very special occasion within sports history.

To take advantage of the one-day-only deal, fans can head to their nearest Wendy's location and request a free Small Hot & Crispy Fry paired with either a Small Chocolate or Vanilla Frosty.

As an important aside, this offer is valid only for April 7, as well as being offered exclusively at participating Wendy's locations.

As the iconic fast food chain said of the new promotion, "March Madness has delivered thrilling college basketball action and unforgettable upsets – but nothing can rival the most epic dunks fans will create with their free Fries and Frosty."

Given their status as the Official Dunks partner of NCAA March Madness, Wendy's has been rolling out a variety of offers to celebrate the busiest basketball season in the year. This includes an extensive Dunks Menu, featuring a variety of restaurant purchases via the Wendy's app that gives users a chance to win prize through Wendy's Dunkstakes.

This includes everything from custom dunk-inspired sneakers, various $1,000 cash prizes and a grand cash reward of $100,000 to the eligible winner.

If that weren't enough, the restaurant also pieced together a talented roster of NIL partners through their Wendy's Dunk Team, including several prominent stars from Men's and Women's college basketball teams. This includes such distinguished players as Yaxel Lendeborg, Keaton Wagler, Breya Cunningham and Sarah Graves, among others.

While March Madness might be officially over, there's still time to celebrate the past festivities through Wendy's one-day promotion. That being said, be sure to head to your nearest Wendy's location before the offer expires!

This Jon Bon Jovi Quote Helps You Handle Life's Curveballs

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 7:18am

With over 130 million albums sold, Jon Bon Jovi is one of the most iconic musicians on the planet. At 64 years old, the New Jersey legend is still packing stadiums across the globe and singing hits like "It's My Life" with the stamina of someone decades younger.

But Jon Bon Jovi didn't start at the top and he's never forgotten his humble roots working as a janitor at a Manhattan recording studio. During the day, he'd sweep floors, but by night, he was recording his original songs. One of those demos—"Runaway"—caught fire on a local radio station and landed him a record deal. Three years later, "Livin' on a Prayer" made him one of the biggest rock stars in the world.

He's had five No. 1 singles—including Bon Jovi anthems like "Livin' on a Prayer" and his 1990 solo track "Blaze of Glory." His music inspires millions, but it's not just his lyrics and performances that make a difference. When he's offstage, Bon Jovi quietly donates millions of dollars to important causes through his non-profit, the JBJ Soul Foundation. In September 2024, he was filming a music video on a pedestrian bridge in Nashville when he noticed a woman in crisis standing on the ledge. He approached her, speaking to her warmly and saved her life that day. Through his music, philanthropy and heroic actions, Jon Bon Jovi has inspired us for over 40 years—and that's why he's today's quote of the day.

Quote of the Day: Jon Bon Jovi

"Map out your future, but do it in pencil."

What he's saying here is that while it's important to plan ahead, it's just as important to change those plans because life is unpredictable. You never know what it's going to throw your way, so we must adapt to life's challenges and allow ourselves the flexibility to adjust and pivot. And the "You Give Love a Bad Name" singer knows this better than anyone.

Deeper Meaning of Jon Bon Jovi's Quote: Adaptability

But in 2022, he started to feel like something wasn't right with his singing voice. As it turned out, one of his vocal cords was atrophying. His doctor explained that one cord was as thick as a thumb, while the other had thinned to the size of a pinky—and the strong one was pushing the weak one aside. The man who had performed almost 3,000 concerts was at risk of never singing again.

Eventually, he underwent vocal cord surgery—a scary thought considering what could go wrong. He spent months retraining his vocal cords. “The next day was brighter and until the next time, you know, you get punched in the nose by some setback," he toldTODAY in 2025. "And you pick yourself up again and do it again."

Time and time again, Bon Jovi has proven himself to be a fighter—someone who's able to roll with the punches and figure out a new plan when the old one isn't working anymore. On July 7, 2026, he'll kick off his Forever Tour with a nine-night residency at Madison Square Garden. It marks the band's first concert in four years—and the shows sold out in less than 24 hours. At 64 years old, Bon Jovi's future is brighter than ever.

It's been exactly 48 years since one of the greatest classic rock songs of all time came out.

"Roxanne" was the English rock band's first single release, and it was later included on their debut album, Outlandos d'Amour, that came out in November 1978.

The track didn't initially reach massive success, but it was re-released the following year and eventually broke out on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #32. It also reached to the #12 spot on the UK singles chart.

But it's the lasting impact of "Roxanne" that has solidified its position in rock music history. Not only is it regarded as one of the greatest hits from The Police, but it's also widely ranked among some of the greatest rock songs ever.

The song was included on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Rock Songs (ranked at #85), and it also earned a spot on Rolling Stone's 2003 list of the 500 Best Songs of All Time, coming in at #398.

In 2008, "Roxanne" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame for its enduring significance in rock music. It marks one of two recordings that The Police have in the Grammy Hall of Fame, along with their 1983 album Synchronicity.

1966 Overlooked Beach Boys Hit Now Considered One of the Best Rock Songs of the ’70s

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 7:15am

Though recorded in 1966, this overlooked Beach Boys track didn’t reach its full legendary status until it was celebrated as one of the defining rock songs of the ’70s.

U Discover Music compiled a list of the Top Songs of the 1970s, broken down by genre. In the rock category, the Beach Boys were celebrated for their 1966 song, "Surf's Up."

How did a Beach Boys song from the late ’60s become one of the ‘70s’ best rock tracks? Written by Brian Wilson and Van Dyke Parks during the ambitious Smile sessions at Wilson's home, the unfinished tune was left on the shelf until 1971, when the band's manager, Jack Rieley, encouraged Wilson to revisit it.

The result? A long-lost classic was finally given the release it deserved, earning its place in rock history reported Ultimate Classic Rock.

"Surf's Up" was subsequently added to the LP of the same name. The lush song has since been called a sprawling, ambitious Beach Boys masterpiece and closed out the LP.

According to Songfacts, the tune was completed by the rest of The Beach Boys under the supervision of Carl Wilson, and it became the title track of the band's 17th album. "Surf's Up" was also released as a single, but failed to crack the Billboard charts.

"We just wrote it spontaneously," Wilson shared in the group's official book, The Beach Boys. "It was a masterpiece of a song. It opened on a minor seventh, unlike most songs, which open on a major. From there, it just started building. I thought it rambled beautifully and said a lot in the end."

"It's a song of freedom," the musician continued. "Van Dyke and I really thought we had done something special when we finished that one."

Wilson said that essentially, he hoped all of the band's music would hit on one specific message: love. He said in the book, "There's love in the music, and people can relate to the love, regardless of whether you're two years old or 92 years old. For me, music is about love. Love is the message I want to share. I hope people feel that in my music. That makes the hard work worth it."

Despite "Surf's Up" not finding chart success as a single, its LP of the same name steadily climbed to No. 29 in the U.S., marking the band’s highest chart position since 1967’s Wild Honey reported U Discover Music. Though it didn’t hit the charts, the single remains a lasting highlight, showcasing the Beach Boys at their most inventive.

Keanu Reeves Says He’s Followed This One Career Rule Since His First Paycheck

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 7:12am

Keanu Reeves was still a teenager when he earned his first real paycheck as an actor, but the mindset he brought to that early work has stayed with him for decades.

Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Reeves was asked about his beginnings, including how old he was when he first got paid professionally. 'Sixteen, seventeen, in the fog of memory,' he said, before the conversation turned to one of his earliest jobs. A cereal commercial he filmed as a young actor.

The moment played for laughs, with Reeves gamely leaning into the absurdity of the clip and the memory of his early days trying to land work. But in the middle of the joking, he offered a surprisingly clear look into how he approached his career from the start.

'I would never audition for something I didn’t like,' Reeves said.

It’s a simple rule, but one that stands out in an industry where young actors are often encouraged to take whatever work they can get. Reeves acknowledged as much, noting that booking a commercial at that stage of his career was exciting in itself. Still, he drew a line early. He prioritizes personal interest over pure opportunity.

The comment helps explain the arc of a career that has often seemed deliberately curated. Reeves has moved between blockbuster franchises, smaller character-driven projects and even long stretches away from the spotlight. Those choices have long fueled his reputation for being selective and unconventional by Hollywood standards.

That drive to focus in projects he's invested in extends beyond his work on screen. During the same interview, Reeves spoke about his band Dogstar, which recently reunited after decades apart and is preparing for an international tour. He described being driven to do it by the parts he loves.

'I love the writing… and I love playing live,' he said.

Pressed jokingly on whether that qualifies him as a rock star, Reeves quickly deflected the label. 'I’m not a rock star,' he said, brushing off the idea despite touring globally with the band.

It all seems to part of Reeves' philosophy of focusing on the work he enjoys rather than the image that comes with it. That appears to trace all the way back to those first auditions as a teenager, when he decided that liking the project mattered.

For an actor whose career has spanned decades and multiple reinventions, it’s a notably straightforward principle and one that, by his own account, hasn’t changed since his very first paycheck.

I Went Inside One of the Most Magical Clubs at Sea—Here’s What’s Behind the Secret Door

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 7:10am

Imagine this: You’re on one of Princess Cruises’ newest ships, Sun Princess, enjoying live music in the central common area, known as the Piazza. Then, out of the corner of your eye, you spot a door, which had been unmanned all morning and afternoon, but now an interesting-looking person is opening the door for passengers to walk inside. You venture over to discover that what you once thought was a crew-only area is actually a secret club that any guest onboard can experience. The host helps you secure a reservation for later in the evening. And you’re excited about getting into one of the most secretive clubs at sea: Spellbound by Magic Castle

If you know anything about magic, then you’ll know that The Magic Castle is one of the most prestigious clubs for magicians around the world. The original club is located in Los Angeles, but now there are outposts at sea that anyone on Sun Princess, and its sister ship, Star Princess, can enjoy. The speakeasy-style venue is located on deck 8 of Sun Princess, just off the Piazza. The only real indicator of the space is a dark door with a gold “S” on the outside, but those who are too entranced by all the other forms of entertainment going on outside in the Piazza may miss the door altogether.

What is Spellbound by Magic Castle? Artifacts from Magic Castle on Sun Princess.

Megan duBois

Spellbound by Magic Castle is an extra cost evening event on Sun and Star Princess. The venue is part bar, part theatrical experience, part history lesson, and part magic show, all wrapped up in one space. The concept is part of its experiential dining product, which also includes the chef’s table and Ultimate Balcony Dining.

On Sun Princess, I paid $45 plus tax and gratuity for an evening at Spellbound. The reservation and cover charge include two premium cocktails that are exclusive to the space, plus a private, small-group magic show.

My experience at Spellbound by Magic Castle The music parlor is a fun spot to hang out inside Spellbound on Sun Princess.

Megan duBois

When my reservation time rolled around, I walked up to the hidden-in-plain-sight door to Spellbound and was escorted inside a small waiting room. What happened next truly took me by surprise. The room darkened, and a voice shared the history of the original Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. Around the room, props moved, pictures came alive, and all at once, I was, well, spellbound. As the warm welcome came to an end, a second secret door opened, revealing three larger rooms, each with distinct themes.

The first room was a sort of music parlor, with a piano playing music by the “Invisible Isabella,” and her lovable bird in a cage singing along. Around the room are paintings and nods to the original Magic Castle, including a poster on a nearby door featuring names of iconic magicians who have graced the stage at the original Magic Castle.

The middle room is where the main bar is. Here, cocktails are created with plenty of pizzazz, including edible glitter and big smoke reveals. This is also a fun room to look around and take in all the details. One bartender told me that some of the pieces in the room are from the Magic Castle archives, which really does add to the overall ambience. One piece that I was truly entranced by was the framed straitjacket and a nearby set of antique handcuffs, the latter of which were used by Harry Houdini.

The final room is a sort of magical library. Think about the library from Beauty and the Beastmeets the library from the Harry Potter series. While overwhelmingly beautiful, there are plenty of hijinks around the space, from butterflies that seemingly start to flutter out of nowhere to an old rotary phone that doesn’t ring, but somehow someone is always talking on the other end if you pick it up.

The Magician cocktail from Spellbound by Magic Castle.

Megan duBois

While exploring the space, I enjoyed two of nearly a dozen cocktail options. My first drink was the Isabella, a sweet dessert drink made with vodka, Kahlua, Baileys, butterscotch, and cream. The drink was served in a chic black glass, which made it feel even more fancy. My second drink was The Magician, a concoction of tequila, mezcal, pamplemousse liqueur, lime, agave, grapefruit, and serrano peppers. It was basically a unique twist on a spicy margarita

After taking everything in, I found a table to simply enjoy the ambience of the space. Then, after a few minutes, a magician showed up at my table to do some close-up magic tricks with cards. I’m usually pretty good at figuring out how tricks work. My grandpa worked in a magic shop when I was a kid and taught me to do simple tricks and shared some of his secrets. But this Magic Castle magician was so good that I’m still trying to figure out how his final trick was really pulled off.

Then a bell tolled throughout the space. The cue for guests that a larger magic show is about to begin in a fourth, more private room. The magic show room only holds about two dozen people, which makes the up-close magic feel even more special. The Magic Castle magician performing that evening did everything from outlandish card tricks to having a passenger FaceTime a family member back home to participate in a trick even though they were hundreds of miles away. I walked away from the show duly impressed and mesmerized by what I had just experienced.

What makes Spellbound even more exciting is that the performances change depending on which magician from the Magic Castle is in the bar that day. To me, that makes this experience very repeatable, not only because the drinks are good, but also because you’ll never see the same show twice.

Is Spellbound by Magic Castle worth the additional cost? Bar inside Spellbound by Magic Castle.

Megan duBois

I’m giving this question a resounding yes! At just $45 for two cocktails, up-close magic in the lounge, and a 30-minute full-scale magic show, it’s one of the best deals on Sun Princess. The exclusive drinks are worth going by themselves, but add in magic performed by real Magic Castle member magicians, and you’re set to have an evening to remember.

‘80s Pop Rock Legend, With Six No. 1 Hits, Turns 78

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 7:06am

Music legend John Oates is celebrating a big birthday. On April 7, 2026, the legendary guitarist and songwriter, best known as one half of the soft rock/pop duo Hall & Oates, turns 78 years old.

During his decades-long partnership with former collaborator Daryl Hall, Oates logged a whopping six No 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100: “Rich Girl” (1977), “Kiss On My List” (1981), “Private Eyes” (1981), “I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) (1982), “Maneater” (1982), and “Out of Touch” (1984).

He also co-wrote many other Top 10 Hall & Oates songs, including "Sara Smile"  and “She’s Gone.”

Oates’ first hit came in 1976

Hall and Oates met while in college in Philadelphia in the late 1960s and began writing and performing together. After signing with Atlantic Records, their single "Sara Smile” reached No. 4 in 1976. Their first No. 1, "Rich Girl,” came the following year.

In 2025, Oates told Vulture his initial collaborations with Hall did not go well. “When we first met, we actually tried to do something together musically, and it sounded really bad,” he said. “We looked at each other and said, ‘This is never going to work. We sound horrible together.’”

“Eventually, he came my way, I came his way, and we found this place,” Oates shared. “I don’t know how we did it. It was just through trial and error, really.”

Hall & Oates enjoyed a long and lucrative partnership. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, but they split in 2023 amid a legal dispute, per Page Six.

Oates later told People magazine he no longer felt “challenged” by performing as part of the rock duo and wanted to focus on solo work.

John Oates revealed the song he most wants to be remembered for

Oates has been open about his decision to change his path in his late 70s. In an interview on The Load Out Music podcast, he admitted, “You need to know when to say when.”

“It’s really interesting how some classic artists are still trying to cling to their past glory," he added. “I think it’s important to age gracefully and exit gracefully in order to enter something new. I may have exited from my experience with Hall & Oates, but I’ve reinvigorated my creative life in a very cool way.”

While he recorded many No. 1 hits over his career, Oates told People that he wants to be remembered for a song that went to No. 7 nearly 50 years ago.

"I probably go back to 'She's Gone,' the song that Daryl and I did in the early '70s, because it has stood the test of time, and that's the mark of a great song," he said in 2025.

The Boys isn’t just coming back — it’s heading toward its endgame. When Season 5 premieres April 8 on Prime Video, the series returns to a world where Homelander’s (Antony Starr) power has never been greater. His series-long rival, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), is more dangerous than ever, determined to take down Vought and Homelander no matter the cost to anyone, including himself.

Butcher and Homelander’s long-simmering conflict is inching closer to a final confrontation, and everyone else is getting pulled into the fallout. As that showdown approaches, familiar allies, dangerous enemies and new players collide in a world increasingly shaped by fear, power and the unchecked influence of Vought.

Cruise vacations sit near the top of the bucket list for millions of people every year. They promise endless ocean views, buffet feasts, onboard entertainment, and the convenience of “unpack once and see the world.” But that glossy image isn’t for every kind of traveler. For some people, the reality of life at sea feels like a mismatch with what they truly want from a vacation.

"I think the only people who should really avoid cruises are those who have severe motion sickness issues. For most people, I think it's more a question of finding the right cruise. Some people, for example, don't like the idea of being cooped up, so maybe a destination-heavy cruise would still work for them. As an advocate for the industry, I think there's a perfect cruise for most people," said Come Cruise With Me Editor in Chief Daniel Kline.

I’ve spoken with travelers, read first‑hand accounts, and dug into both industry criticism and personal preference reporting. What emerges is a clear sense that certain travel personalities systematically clash with the cruise experience. If you see yourself in any of these descriptions, you might want to chart another course.

1. The Seasick or Motion‑Sensitive Traveler

For some people, even the gentlest wave can feel like a betrayal of stable ground. I know friends who never book a cruise precisely because they feel queasy at the thought of being surrounded by water with no solid land in sight. Others stock up on medication and ginger chews before boarding, but that preparation doesn’t erase the fact that motion is inherent to the experience. Many seasoned land travelers choose alternatives like river cruises or coastal sailings that avoid open sea days because they still crave water travel without intense motion.

2. The Introvert or Quiet‑Space Lover

Cruise ships are bustling micro‑cities at sea. One travel blogger who dislikes cruises described the experience almost like attending a festival where quiet is an afterthought. Introverts who prefer cozy bed‑and‑breakfast inns or small boutique hotels often find cruise crowds overwhelm their personal comfort zones. And while some luxury lines offer private lounges or quieter tiers, the core cruise vibe remains communal by design.

3. The Budget‑Conscious Traveler

Cruise advertising often touts all‑inclusive pricing, but the reality for many passengers includes a series of hidden costs. Gratuities, specialty dining, shore excursions, Wi‑Fi, drinks, and spa services can add up quickly once you’re on board. For those who want tangible cost control and local immersion, land‑based travel can be far more satisfying and wallet‑friendly.

4. The Culture Seeker Who Likes to Wander

If your idea of travel is lingering at cafés, chatting with locals, and uncovering hidden neighborhoods, cruising’s curated itinerary may disappoint you. Shore time is often limited to a few hours in each port before the ship sets sail again. Critics of this model argue that cruising offers “glimpses” of destinations rather than real cultural connection. If slow travel and deep local engagement are your travel priorities, a train route across wine country or a road trip through historic towns might spark more joy and meaning than a cruise port visit.

5. The Environmental or Ethical Traveler

Cruise ships are some of the most energy‑intensive ways to travel. They burn massive amounts of fuel and have historically struggled with sustainable waste management. Critics argue that the industry’s environmental footprint and the way cruise tourists interact with small port economies can undermine local communities. Some travelers don’t want their vacation dollars to float on top of issues like pollution or over tourism in fragile destinations. If leaving places better than you found them is central to your travel ethic, you may find yourself uncomfortable with cruise travel’s systemic impacts.

6. The Slow‑Mornings Lover

Here’s one I didn’t quite expect: cruise itineraries can feel rushed. Ships often arrive early in port to maximize time ashore, meaning early alarms and day‑long touring. If your ideal holiday involves waking without an alarm, savoring coffee, and gently strolling into the day, the cruise rhythm might feel like a sprint. While sea days are more relaxed, the pace of back‑to‑back ports can make a cruise perpetually “on” rather than restful.

When Cruises Might Still Work

None of these caveats means cruises are universally bad. Many travelers love them, and the industry has evolved dramatically, especially with amenities and choices ranging from expedition to luxury lines.

But being honest about these potential friction points helps you choose the travel style that truly fits you. In my own travel planning, I think deeply about whether I want immersion or ease, solitude or social energy, slow discovery or curated stops. If cruising sounds like it would cramp your travel style in any of those dimensions, you’re not alone, and there are plenty of other ways to roam this beautiful world that match your travel personality.

1979 Rock Classic Inspired by a Fleetwood Mac Hit Became a Party Anthem

Tue, 04/07/2026 - 6:24am

Van Halenalways delivers. But there’s one song from the kings of guitar shred that’s getting some extra love right now.

Dance the Night Away,” a good-vibes-only hit that got massive radio play back in the day, is at the heart of American Songwriter’s list of “Underrated Rock Songs From 1979 That Sound Even Better Today,” published Saturday, April 4.

“This hard rock jam from Van Halen was a pretty huge hit back in 1979,” the publication writes. “And yet, I don’t think it gets enough love as the outfit’s other classics.”

And, yeah, they’re not wrong. The band’s most-played songs, according to Spotify charts via data site Kword, are “Jump,” “Panama,” “Runnin’ With the Devil,” “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love,” and “Hot for Teacher,” with the latter featured all over the annals of pop culture. See: Varsity Blues, Despicable Me 4, and Family Guy.

But “Dance the Night Away” is its own special rush of seratonin. The second track off the band’s Van Halen II album, it's slight departure from their harder-edge signature and was allegedly inspired by Fleetwood Mac’s 1976 lead single off their landmark Rumours album, “Go Your Own Way.”

Both melody driven, easygoing, and built on a danceable beat, these hits could almost be companion pieces in another lifetime, but where Van Halen’s track is light as a daisy — about a girl, a moment, a vibe — Fleetwood Mac’s is steeped in emotion and drama. Both are incredible, just operating on entirely different frequencies.

“I don’t really hear the similarities, and that’s probably a good thing,” AS writes. “Both songs really stand on their own, and ‘Dance the Night Away’ is a particularly fun tune.”

Though the track didn’t reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, it did break into the Top 20, peaking at No. 15 in 1979 and marking the band’s first U.S. Top 20 single.

Fans loved the commercial pop-rock appeal of the jam written by all four of the group’s members, David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, and Michael Anthony. The party anthem even convinced fans to revisit the first self-titled album, spiking sales from about 1 million to 10 million, Songfacts shares.

Nearly 50 years later, the no-worries, all-fun classic hits just as hard and sounds better than ever. Roll the windows down and turn this one up — it’s the perfect hit for welcoming in warmer weather and longer days.
