1946 Box Office Flop Became One of the 'Greatest Movies of All Time'

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 5:41pm

It’s a Wonderful Life is now considered one of the greatest and most beloved movies ever made—but when it was first released in 1946, it was a box office disappointment.

Directed by Frank Capra and starring Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey, the film tells the story of a man who sacrifices his own dreams to help others, only to question his life’s worth on Christmas Eve. With the help of his guardian angel, Clarence (Henry Travers), he’s shown what the world would look like if he had never been born.

Despite its now-iconic status, the film struggled financially during its initial run. It needed to make about $6.3 million to break even—roughly double its production cost—but fell well short of that mark, ultimately being viewed as a commercial failure at the time.

Part of the challenge was timing. Released just after World War II, the film’s sentimental tone and introspective story didn’t fully connect with audiences expecting lighter entertainment. It also faced strong competition at the box office, which further limited its initial reach.

But the story didn’t end there.

Decades later, It’s a Wonderful Life found a second life thanks to an unexpected twist: its copyright lapsed in 1974, allowing television stations to air it freely. As it became a staple of holiday programming, new generations of viewers discovered its message of hope, community, and resilience.

Today, the film is widely regarded as a classic, frequently appearing on lists of the greatest movies ever made. The American Film Institute ranked it No. 11 on the list of the Greateest Films of All Time and named it the most inspirational American movie of all time; IMDB users have ranked it as No. 21 on the list of Top 250 Movies of All Time.

What began as a box office disappointment ultimately became something far more lasting—a film that continues to resonate with audiences nearly 80 years later, proving that sometimes a story just needs time to find its place.

Fans Baffled After Guy Fieri Caught Greeting 'Mayor of Misogyny Town’

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 5:33pm

Not everyone was cheering Guy Fieri at UFC 327.

The celebrity chef drew backlash after video from Saturday's Miami event showed him leaning over a railing to greet brothers Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate with a handshake and shoulder bump.

Critics flooded social media, with many saying the moment left a bad taste.

Andrew is currently under investigation in the United Kingdom on suspicion of assault and abuse, while he and Tristan both face human trafficking charges in Romania — allegations both brothers deny.

The self-described misogynist has also cultivated millions of fans online through his extreme masculine ideals, making him one of the manosphere's most prominent figures.

Fieri's fans, it's fair to say, were not exactly thrilled to see him cozying up to the brothers, and more than a few may have demoted themselves to former fans by the end of the clip.

— Spinnin Backfist (@SpinninBackfist) April 12, 2026

“@GuyFieri you’re pathetic,” wrote one user on X. “How is @FoodNetwork ok with this?!?” another added.

“Instead of Flavor Town, go to H*** @GuyFieri,” a third wrote. “This is gross.”

On Instagram, another added, “I'm really looking forward to the explanation for this one, the ‘Mayor of Flavor Town’ having a blast with the ‘Mayor of Misogyny Town.’”

“I wonder what all the female chefs on the Guy Fieri Network are going to think about this, or is the money worth it,” one fan wrote.

The brothers were taken into custody in Romania in December 2022 over human trafficking allegations, remaining in detention for several months as a pre-trial precaution. A Bucharest appeals court eased those restrictions in 2023, first moving them to house arrest before eventually requiring only routine check-ins with police.

Last week, a Romanian court lifted all remaining legal restrictions on the pair — though their legal troubles are far from over.

The brothers face 21 charges in the U.K., including trafficking and assault, and have been ordered to be extradited once Romanian proceedings are finished. Both men, dual citizens of the U.S. and U.K., deny any wrongdoing.

Beloved 'Little Rascals' Child Star Arrested

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 5:31pm

Bug Hall's name might ring a bell for anyone who grew up watching The Little Rascals. He's back in the news, though not for reasons fans would hope.

According to documents obtained by TMZ on Monday, April 13, the 41-year-old was charged with failure to appear for a court date back on  December 31, 2024. The original issue dates back to October 2024, when Hall was hit with a traffic citation for not having liability insurance.

The arrest is the latest development in what has been a turbulent few years for the former child star. Hall left Hollywood in 2020 after being arrested for allegedly huffing air duster cans during a visit to his parents in Weatherford, Texas, which he’s spoken openly about. He was booked on a misdemeanor possession charge, though he told The Daily Mail back in January he faced no charges.

The relapse came after 15 years of sobriety, and Hall said Hollywood's high-pressure environment had contributed to struggles he felt were largely swept under the rug.

Rather than return to the entertainment industry, Hall went off the grid. He told the outlet that he has taken "a vow of poverty" and relocated his family (wife Jill and their five children) to an 80-acre plot near Mountain View, Arkansas, where he plans to build an off-the-grid home.Beyond The Little Rascals, Hall also appeared in Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves, The Stupids, as well as TV shows including Castle, Masters of Sex, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

On the episode dropping on Monday, April 20, Plaza broke the news to the hosts after recounting a story where she suffered a stroke in 2004. The three hosts congratulated her on the "very exciting news" to which Plaza responded with, "I know, it's very shocking."

1992 Power Ballad Named No. 1 Hit Song Became an Anthem of Unconditional Love

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 5:15pm

In 1992, Guns N' Roses released a song that would become one of the most ambitious and emotionally powerful ballads in rock history.

Their hit, "November Rain." climbed to No. 1 on the Cash Box Top 100, solidifying its place as a defining track of the era. Known for its sweeping orchestration and nearly nine-minute runtime, the song pushed the boundaries of what a rock single could be.

Written by frontman Axl Rose, "November Rain" blends hard rock with classical influences, featuring dramatic piano melodies, layered instrumentation and one of the most memorable guitar solos by Slash. The result is a song that feels both grand in scale and deeply personal in emotion.

Lyrically, the track explores themes of love, loss and the fragility of relationships, capturing the idea that even the strongest connections can be tested over time. Its message of enduring love despite hardship and heartbreak helped it resonate with listeners and transform it into an anthem of unconditional love.

Writing the song didn't come easy to Rose, however.

"When we were doing that EP for L.A. Guns, in like '83? He was playing 'November Rain' – and it was called 'November Rain' – you know, on piano," former Guns N' Roses guitarist Tracii Guns said in an interview. "Way back then, it was the only thing he knew how to play, but it was his. He'd go, 'Someday this song is gonna be really cool.' And I'd go, 'It's cool now.' 'But it's not done,' you know, he used to say. And, like, anytime we'd be at a hotel or anywhere, there'd be a piano; he'd just kinda play that music. And I'd go, 'When are you gonna finish that already?' And he'd go, 'I don’t know what to do with it.'"

Finally, Rose decided it was ready to release into the world. "The song "November Rain" was featured on the band's album Use Your Illusion I, a record that marked a creative peak for the group and showcased their willingness to experiment with sound and structure.

"November Rain" also became known for its cinematic music video, which remains one of the most iconic of all time, further amplifying the song's emotional impact and cultural reach.

More than three decades later, the track continues to stand as a landmark achievement in rock music, an epic, timeless anthem that captures the highs and lows of love with unmatched intensity.

1967 Hit Film Ranked Among 'Best Movies of All Time'

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 5:14pm

To some, he's known as "Butch Cassidy." To other film buffs, Paul Newman will forever be dubbed Cool Hand Luke.

The Oscar-winning drama added yet another stunning role to the late actor's impressive list — and it helps that the film overall was a remarkable and thought-provoking end result.

It's no wonder Cool Hand Luke, from director Stuart Rosenberg, ranks inside the top 25 on Rotten Tomatoes' list of 300 Best Movies of All Time. Here's the film's official synopsis:

When petty criminal Luke Jackson (Newman) is sentenced to two years in a Florida prison farm, he doesn't play by the rules of either the sadistic warden (Strother Martin) or the yard's resident heavy, Dragline (George Kennedy), who ends up admiring the new guy's unbreakable will. Luke's bravado, even in the face of repeated stints in the prison's dreaded solitary confinement cell, "the box," make him a rebel hero to his fellow convicts and a thorn in the side of the prison officers.

The movie remains at a 100% critics' consensus on Rotten Tomatoes after all these decades. Speaking of, the 1967 release is nearing its whopping 60th anniversary.

The late, great film critic Roger Ebert gave Cool Hand Luke four out four stars, writing in his review, "Luke is the first Newman character to understand himself well enough to tell us to shove off. He’s through risking his neck to make us happy. With this film, Newman completes a cycle of five films over six years, and together they have something to say about the current status of heroism. Whether this was anyone’s original intention is doubtful. But “Cool Hand Luke” does draw together threads from the earlier movies, especially “Hombre,” and it is a tough, honest film with backbone.

Whether it's Cool Hand Luke, The Sting, or Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Newman will forever go down as Hollywood royalty.

Beloved TV Show Becomes ABC’s 3rd Longest-Running Drama With Renewal News

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 4:49pm

The Rookie has officially been renewed for season 9, making the popular TV show the third longest-running drama in ABC’s history.

ABC announced the renewal news on Monday, April 13. As The Rookie prepares for its ninth season, it trails behind only Grey’s Anatomy and NYPD Blue in the race for the network’s longest-running drama. Grey’s Anatomy is currently airing its 22nd season and has already been renewed for a 23rd, while NYPD Blue ran for 12 seasons from 1993 to 2005.

In its ninth season, The Rookie will tie with Dynasty and The F.B.I. as the third longest-running ABC drama ever. With both airing for nine seasons, Dynasty was on from 1981 to 1989, while The F.B.I. was on from 1965 to 1974.

TV fans may wonder why 9-1-1 doesn’t outrank The Rookie since the former is heading into its 10th season. However, 9-1-1 first aired on Fox for six seasons before moving to ABC in 2024.

The Rookie creator Alexi Hawley reacted to the show’s renewal on Monday, telling Deadline, “So far, the mindset across the board is, as [cast member] Melissa O’Neil said, ‘Let’s Grey’s Anatomy this thing.’”

Hawley assured fans that the show’s storyline potential is still rich despite its longevity.

“I think everybody is having a good time, it’s a cast that truly loves each other and enjoys coming to work, they get to do fun stuff every day,” he explained. “And at this point, heading into season 9, I don’t feel like we’re anywhere near out of ideas. Part of that is we’re not a procedural where I have to come up with a body drop every week. We really can reinvent ourselves a lot, and that helps with not feeling like we’re running out of story. Every time you bring in a new rookie or a new character, that also changes things. So, yeah, I would do this until they turn the lights out.”

Disney/John Russo

Despite being in its eighth season, The Rookie has experienced an uptick in viewership, achieving its most watched season ever on streaming. Hawley speculated about what keeps fans intrigued after all these years as well as draws in new viewers.

“I do think that ultimately the success of the show is partly because from week to week, the audience really doesn’t know what version of The Rookie they’re going to get,” he said. “Is it going to be a big fun event in the episode? Is it going to be more comedic or romantic or scary? I like switching things up, I like that sort of energy of it.”

The Rookie stars Nathan Fillion (John Nolan), Mekia Cox (Nyla Harper), Alyssa Diaz (Angela Lopez), Richard T. Jones (Wade Grey), O’Neil (Lucy Chen), Eric Winter (Tim Bradford), Jenna Dewan (Bailey Nune), Shawn Ashmore (Wesley Evers), Lisseth Chavez (Celina Juarez) and Deric Augustine (Miles Penn).

There are three episodes of The Rookie’s eighth season remaining. The finale is scheduled to air on May 4.

The Rookie airs on ABC Mondays at 10 p.m. ET, with new episodes streaming on Hulu the next day.

Is Finola Hughes Coming Back to ‘General Hospital’?

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 4:48pm

General Hospital fans' favorite Finola Hughes (Anna) has been off the canvas for months.

Back in October, Anna was kidnapped by Sidwell (Carlo Rotta), Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), and Pascal (Marc Forget) as she got too close to exposing their involvement in Faison's (Anders Hove) final project.

🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

The kidnapping coincided with Hughes' annual time off from the ABC soap. However, this time around, it seems like the actress has been off-screen for much longer than in the past.

Is Anna Coming Back to General Hospital?

Fans have been eagerly waiting and wondering when Hughes and Anna would return to the show. There is good news on that front, thanks to General Hospital star Chris McKenna (Jack).

When a fan on X mentioned that Anna needs to come back to take down Sidwell down, and a different fan declared that Hughes is missed, McKenna chimed in to say, “Finola is on her way back!”

Finola is on her way back!

— Chris L. McKenna (@ChrisLMcKenna) April 13, 2026

The actor didn’t give any details on what that means but May sweeps is looming and that would be a perfect time for Anna to resurface in Port Charles.

Fans were appreciative of McKenna letting them know the soap legend would be back on the small screen soon.

Where Has Anna Been on General Hospital?

Hughes did make a couple of brief appearances to take the kidnapping story to a different level. During February sweeps, Anna was suddenly free from the kidnapping and was found in France suffering a mental breakdown.

General Hospital fans know that Sidwell and Cullum set it up so Anna would believe Faison was alive and stalking her family, especially her granddaughter, Emma (Braedyn Bruner). However Anna’s family like Emma, Felicia (Kristina Wagner) and Mac (John J. York) believe that Anna had a mental breakdown.

Last week, Emma told Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Joss (Eden McCoy) that Anna was still struggling. Those scenes were filmed about six weeks ago, so fans should get a more positive update on Anna soon.

Fans should be on the lookout for Finola Hughes and super spy Anna Devane to be back in the Port Charles mix before summer.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.

"Kit was sitting in her high chair this week, eating a snack while I was finishing up dinner prep, when she began to choke," Robertson explained. "Within seconds, you could tell the severity of the situation. My mom pulled her from the high chair and placed my girl into my arms just as she stopped breathing."

"Everyone went into action and into prayer," she continued. "Mom called 911, I started CPR, and everyone began to pray out loud and move the other kids downstairs."

The former Dancing With the Stars alum revealed that she had watched videos so she could "be prepared for all situations," while hoping that she'd never need to use those skills. Fortunately, while performing the required actions, her daughter began breathing again.

"Kit miraculously coughed and began to breathe, just as the paramedics arrived," Robertson said, calling the ordeal "truly terrifying."

While she wrote about having "immense gratitude for the miracle of Kit's full recovery and God's undeniable hand," she also admitted that the event had deeply affected her, which was why she'd been off social media recently.

"I'm currently walking through the waves of anxiety from the trauma of the situation," she said. However, she felt it was important to talk about her story "as an encouragement for everyone to learn what to do in the case of an emergency."

According to the American Red Cross, while choking is common among kids, those under age 5 are at a higher risk. It also provides information and a video on what to do when a child or infant is choking.

Robertson and husband Christian Huff are also parents to 4-year-old Honey and 2-year-old Haven. Between social media and her Whoa That's Good podcast, the Live Fearless author often shares insights from motherhood, including when Honey was diagnosed with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

"The past few days have been very tough," she wrote at the time. "Watching your child sick is one of the most heartbreaking things. Seeing her little struggle brings me to tears like I have never cried, but seeing her strength has given me smiles I have never smiled."

'80s Icon Debbie Gibson Shares 'Cotton Candy Swim Fit Vibes' in Blue Swimsuit

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 4:40pm

It's been 37 years since Debbie Gibson dazzled fans with her smash hit "Electric Youth," but she's still looking young after a visit to her community pool.

The 55-year-old original pop princess loves to keep fit and stay active, so her latest Instagram post was no surprise. It came just days after Gibson performed at a Coachella kickoff party at the Lifeway Culture House, where she looked fabulous in a mint green swimsuit and heels.

The first photo of Gibson's latest Instagram share showed the "Foolish Love" singer striking a pose in a bright blue swimsuit that highlighted how long and lean she is. Her hands were placed behind her head, resting on a hot pink swimcap, and she smiled brightly while looking up and away.

The second slide, a video, was a message from Gibson where she came up close to the camera and said, "Happy Monday, everyone! Oh my gosh, nothing like a good swim to start the week... for me, anyway. I hope you're off to a great one, just wanted to send love."

Over 1,000 Hollywood Names Sign an Open Letter Opposing Paramount-Warner Deal

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 4:37pm

Glenn Close, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Joaquin Phoenix, Ben Stiller and over 1,000 other creatives have signed an open letter to oppose the Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger.

Paramount’s multi-billion-dollar proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery was announced in early 2026. The acquisition would mean a “Holy Grail of a mega streaming app,” according to PBS. This could result in massive industry layoffs.

Hollywood stars shared their concern about the acquisition in the open letter.

“This transaction would further consolidate an already concentrated media landscape, reducing competition at a moment when our industries—and the audiences we serve—can least afford it,” the letter said. “The result will be fewer opportunities for creators, fewer jobs across the production ecosystem, higher costs, and less choice for audiences in the United States and around the world. Alarmingly, this merger would reduce the number of major U.S. film studios to just four.”

The letter continued, expressing that the integrity, independence and diversity of the film industry “would be grievously compromised.”

It concluded with the announcement that California Attorney General Robert Bonta and his colleagues in other states “are reportedly scrutinizing the merger and considering legal action to block it.”

After the letter was published on BlockTheMerger.com on Monday morning, Paramount issued a statement. They argued that the transaction would uniquely bring together “complementary strengths to create a company that can greenlight more projects, back bold ideas, support talent across multiple stages of their careers, and bring stories to audiences at a truly global scale.”

Paramount said that they will increase their output to a minimum of 30 feature films annually, with “full theatrical releases,” and that they will ensure creators have more avenues for their work, not less.

“Paramount remains deeply committed to talent, and this merger strengthens both consumer choice and competition, creating greater opportunities for creators,  audiences and the communities they live and work in,” the statement said.

At the time of this writing, BlockTheMerger.com’s open letter has 1,476 signatures, with fellow actors, directors, producers and writers encouraged to sign via Google Docs.

1986 Power Ballad Named No. 1 Hit Song Became a Timeless Anthem

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 4:34pm

Moving back in with your parents isn't the end of the world — just ask Nick Van Eede.

Before Cutting Crew, Van Eede was playing with a band called the Drivers, until a record company scandal sent the whole thing sideways and their manager showed him the door.

He landed back at his parents' place in Sussex and started scribbling song ideas on whatever he could find, including a piece of wallpaper.

The line “I just died in your arms tonight” came first, then “It must have been something you said,” followed. Over time, Van Eede realized he had unintentionally written a complete song, one that would become “(I Just) Died in Your Arms.”

“I wrote for three or four hours before I worked out what I was singing about,” he told The Guardian in 2024. “[My ex-girlfriend and I] got back together for one night, and there’s a lot of guilt because I should have kept my distance.”

Despite what the title might suggest, "(I Just) Died In Your Arms" isn't really a love song. Van Eede may have considered the hookup a mistake, but he doesn’t come across as regretful — more like someone happy to make the same mistake again.

In his lyrics, Van Eede presents himself as a naïve figure unable to withstand the woman’s pull: "Who would've thought that a boy like me could come to this?"

He repeatedly sings that he "should've walked away," while placing the blame squarely on her: "I've lost and found, it's my final mistake/ She's loving by proxy, no give and all take/ 'Cause I've been thrilled to fantasy one too many times."

“... I guess there were some fireworks but all the time tinged with a feeling of 'should I really be doing this?'” the singer explained to Songfacts. “I know it sounds corny but I awoke that morning and wrote the basic lyrics within an hour and wrote and recorded the demo completely within three days."

After cycling through musicians and demo after demo, Cutting Crew released the finished track in July 1986. It went to No. 1 in the U.S., Canada, Finland and Norway, and landed in the Top 5 nearly everywhere else it was heard.

Unfortunately, nothing else the band released in America came close to matching it, which pretty much sealed their reputation as a one-hit wonder of the '80s.

Their next single, the ballad "I've Been In Love Before," stalled at No. 9, and a Grammy nod for Best New Artist ended in a loss to Jody Watley

That was pretty much the ceiling for Cutting Crew chart-wise. But the song itself has stuck around, earning its place as one of the “Greatest Power Ballads in Rock History,” according to Ultimate Classic Rock

The track also got a second life in 2019 when it appeared in the third season of Stranger Things, introducing it to a whole new generation.

Looking back, few were more surprised by the song's success than producer Terry Brown. “I thought it could be big, although I didn’t expect it to become as huge as it did,” he later told The Guardian

“It’s my only No. 1 record in the U.S., and it was life-changing. Even now, I’ll be making lunch, and ‘(I Just) Died’ will come on the radio. I’ll call Nick and say, ‘Hey, we haven’t talked in a few weeks. I just heard your tune.’ It never goes away.”

1975 Hit Film Ranked 'Most Exciting Movie' of All Time

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 4:33pm

Despite being over 50 years old, Steven Spielberg's masterpiece Jaws still gives audiences major thrills.

The publication Colliderrecently named the beloved 1975 film "the most exciting movie ever made." The nine other thrilling films featured on the ranking included 2023's Godzilla Minus One, North by Northwest from 1959, Mad Max: Fury Road from 2015, 2008's The Dark Knight, and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, released in 2003.

Collider reported that Jaws should be recognized as the most exciting film because of its excellent pacing, bloody moments, and perfect tension, as Quint (Robert Shaw), Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss), and Brody (Roy Scheider) take on the nearly impossible task of defeating the shark.

Steven Spielberg Didn't Think 'Jaws' Was Going to Be a Success

While Jaws has proven to be one of the most beloved and successful movies ever released, Spielberg had major doubts about the film while it was in production. During a 2025 interview at the Academy Museum, Spielberg explained that the shark animatronic, called Bruce, was extremely temperamental.

"I never thought that the nightmare, which was the production of Jaws, could turn into a dream," said the famed director, who was just 27 while shooting Jaws.

He explained that when Bruce wasn't working, the crew "would literally scrub the whole shooting day."

"I really truly believed that halfway through production, we weren't making any progress. I heard the scuttlebutt from Hollywood, I was going to get fired any day now. You know, I basically thought this movie was going to be the end of me," said Spielberg.

Spielberg also said that changes were made to the script during shooting. He explained that Shaw, Dreyfuss, and Scheider would improvise lines that would end up becoming the character's dialogue.

"We would just cherry-pick the moments that we thought could fall into the narrative," said Spielberg in the 2025 interview.

Spielberg also said he believes the film has stayed so beloved because it is a very human story.

"It's not a shark movie. It's a people movie. It had to be about characters that you want to survive alongside until the bitter end," said Spielberg.

Costco's New Patio Set Is Turning Heads for Its Modern, High-End Look

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 4:25pm

Costco is getting shoppers' attention again, but this time it is not for pantry staples or seasonal food finds. Instead, a new outdoor furniture set at Costco is drawing attention for its upscale design and noticeably modern look that feels more like a boutique showroom than a warehouse floor.

The Henredon Annalise 4-Piece Deep Seating Swivel Set is priced at $1,899.99 in the warehouse and has been showing up in online discussions for its mix of modern style and functionality.

A Modern Costco Patio Set View this post on Instagram

The set, shown by @costcohotfinds, includes one sofa, two swivel chairs and a coffee table, all finished in an all-weather, hand-woven resin wicker in a deep black tone. The look is further elevated by rope-style detailing and thick cushions, giving it a more substantial, well-designed feel than many typical outdoor sets at this price point.

One of the biggest talking points about this Costco patio set is the swivel feature on the chairs, which allows 360-degree rotation. Shoppers say it makes outdoor conversations feel more natural since it is easier to turn and engage without shifting the entire chair. The seating itself is described as deep and plush, giving it a lounge-like feel closer to indoor furniture than traditional patio seating.

It's Built to Last

The materials are also a major part of the appeal. Costco highlights rust-resistant powder-coated aluminum frames along with Sunbrella fabric cushions designed to resist stains, fading, mildew and moisture. The fabric is known for holding up in outdoor conditions and is often used in higher-end patio furniture, which helps explain why some shoppers feel the set leans more premium.

Still, reactions are not entirely one-sided. While many Costco shoppers appreciate the design and sturdiness, others have noted that the price feels high compared to other Costco patio options or smaller sets better suited to more casual use. A few reviewers also mentioned comfort adjustments, noting that some cushions may need time to break in or that the included protective cover may not hold up well in windy conditions.

Even so, several shoppers say they are happy with the overall quality and describe the set as sturdy and visually impressive once set up. Some also mention building out their outdoor space with additional inexpensive chairs or accessories to balance out cost and seating capacity. Others suggest adding simple touches, like cozy lights from Costco's string light pole sets, to create a more inviting backyard atmosphere around the furniture.

Gavin Rossdale Leaves Fans 'Stunned' With A Cappella Version of Classic 1995 Bush Hit : 'Beautiful'

Mon, 04/13/2026 - 4:08pm

Gavin Rossdale is bearing it all. The Bush frontman is leaving fans in awe after a recent intimate performance of the band’s 1995 hit "Glycerine." Bush performed the song as part of NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series, leaving fans longing for the ‘90s while celebrating Rossdale’s "beautiful" voice.

Thirty-two years after the release of the band’s most popular album Sixteen Stone, Bush delivered a powerful and emotional performance as part of NPR’s Tiny Desk series. Performing hits like "Machinehead" from Sixteen Stone and "Out of This World" from 2001’s Golden State, the band offered quieter, slower arrangements of some of the biggest hits of the ‘90s and early 2000s.

"Glycerine" Performance Sparks Nostalgia

Rossdale’s melodic performance of "Glycerine," at one point completely without instrumental accompaniment, stands out, leaving fans longing for a return to the mid-1990s and the music that defined the era.

"This just made me cry a little - thinking of a time we will never see again. Simple, fun and full of such amazing music," commented one nostalgic fan.

"it's 1994....and im in my bedroom feeling a little less alone for only a moment."

"Just like that I’m 17 again…" lamented another. "I’d give anything for one more carefree day in the 90’s."

"He sounds incredible," gushed another, echoing the sentiments of many.

Why "Glycerine" Still Resonates

There’s a reason Rossdale’s acoustic rendition of "Glycerine" resonates so strongly with fans. Despite the minimalist production on the Tiny Desk version of the song, "Glycerine" still connects deeply. It was always built on simplicity and emotion, highlighting Rossdale’s voice and songwriting.

A Timeless Sound That Still Connects

The minimal instrumentation puts Rossdale’s gritty, emotive voice on full display. "Glycerine" has always captured angst while creating intimacy with the listener. With just Rossdale’s guitar accompanying his vocals, the performance highlights his ability to draw listeners in and transport them back in time.

One of the longest-enduring post-grunge bands, Bush has consistently created melodic hooks that make their alternative sound accessible to a pop audience. Known for one radio-friendly hit after another, Bush dominated the ‘90s charts. Thirty-six years later, with nothing more than an electric guitar and a vocal performance, Gavin Rossdale and Bush prove that while the simplicity of the ‘90s may be long gone, the music was built to last and is here to stay.
