‘Big Brother’ Legend Reveals How She's Preparing to Be on 'Survivor'
Rachel Reilly may be the first person to complete the CBS reality trifecta: Survivor, Big Brother, and The Amazing Race!
In an interview with Us Weekly published on Monday, July 20, the Big Brother champion shared Survivor is her "dream" and that she talks about it all the time with her husband, fellow Big Brother and Amazing Race alum Brendon Villegas.
"Brendon is in the process of teaching me how to get a really good fire going,” Reilly said. “What else did you say you’re going to work on with me?”
Villegas replied, “Eating one handful of rice a day. Building a shelter.”
Although Reilly is confident in her abilities, her husband is more skeptical.
“OK, let’s see,” Villegas said with a laugh. “Hey, we’re in Alabama. We got plenty of stuff to practice with out here. Surviving mosquitoes for 10 minutes.”

Back in the fall, Reilly shared via her Instagram Story that she was working on her application for the long-running reality series.
If given a spot, Reilly would become the first person to complete the CBS reality trifecta. So far, she’s competed on three seasons of Big Brother—winning one—and three seasons on The Amazing Race.
While being interviewed by Entertainment Tonight on the Emmy Awards red carpet in September, Survivor host Jeff Probst was told about Reilly’s interest in going on the show and becoming the first person to complete the trifecta.
“Well, first she’s got to apply,” Probst said. “I mean, come on, she’s got to want it bad enough to send in a little two minute video and say, ‘Here’s why I should be on.'”
“There’s no secret passageway to getting on Survivor,” he continued. “I think she’s got a shot.”

The push for Reilly to star on Survivor came after she was shockingly eliminated from Big Brother27 last year due to the highly controversial “White Locust” twist. Fans and former houseguests found the twist to be unfair as it sent the reality tv legend home without an eviction vote.
Nevertheless, Reilly became the first member of the Big Brother 27 jury, ultimately voting for ally Ashley Hollis to win the game. She later made a cameo during the premiere of Big Brother 28, where she was pushed by a velociraptor into a volcano in a now-viral moment.
Geena Davis Was Told She Wasn’t 'Attractive Enough' for Lead Role in This 1980s Cult Classic
Geena Davis opened up about being told she wasn’t “attractive enough” to play the lead in a 1980s comedy.
Instead, Davis was given a smaller supporting role in the 1985 Chevy Chase-led film Fletch. She revealed her experience on an episode ofDaxShepard’sArmchair Expert podcast published Monday, July 20.
“Well, you know, I had such a small part,” Davis said. “I originally auditioned for the lead female character... And I’m pretty sure they said, ‘Well, you’re not attractive enough to play that part, but we think you’re so funny, we want you in the movie.’”
The podcast host was surprised by her statement. He recalled the differences between the entertainment industry in the 1980s and the present day.
“This was ‘85 where they would tell you, you’re not attractive,” Shepard added.
The cult classic follows Irwin "Fletch" Fletcher, an investigative reporter attempting to discover the secrets behind a drug ring. While undercover, a wealthy businessman offers him $50,000 to fake his murder. Fletch decides to find out the truth behind this proposition.
Davis played a young woman named Larry who becomes mixed up in the reporter's investigation.
“And they said, ‘Oh there’s this part of this morgue chief, whose name is Larry, but we'll change it to a female for you.’ And I said, ‘But I still want to be Larry,’” she shared.
Dana Wheeler-Nicholson was cast as the female lead in Fletch. She played the wife of millionaire businessman Alan Stanwyk.
The film was directed by Michael Ritchie and featured Tim Matheson, Richard Libertini, and Joe Don Baker.
Shepard also asked the actress about Chase’s behavior on set. Davis told him that he wasn’t “grouchy” or difficult, despite his reputation for being difficult to work with.
“Yeah. And he might have really enjoyed that movie or something because he seemed fun and funny and chill and great. He seemed great,” she shared.
1983 Rock Ballad, Written While on Tour, Remains a Classic Heartbreak Anthem
Some of the rock genre's greatest ballads were born from heartache, and it was especially true for one of Journey's signature hits, "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)," that came to life while on the road.
It's not surprising that life on the road and being one of the '80s biggest rock bands would lead to marital tensions. During Journey's 1982 Escape tour, guitarist Neal Schon and bassist Ross Valory were going through caustic divorces. Their bandmates were looking for a way to focus on the positive aspects of the situation when Jonathan Cain and Steve Perry began working on "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)."
“Usually we don’t write songs that far in advance of an album,” said Cain in 1983, according to American Songwriter. “But on that occasion, Steve and I were just working an idea backstage, and it all came together. He was working on a bass and I had a guitar, and we just worked out the melody that night and the lyrics the next afternoon. Sometimes you can get lucky and have a song fall together like that."
Cain and Perry soon presented the track to the rest of the band with lyrics about an ending relationship, but still being hopeful of finding love again. According to reports, the band began piecing together the track during soundcheck, and fans first heard the track live during their Day on the Green concert. Facts on whether or not it's true differ.
"It doesn't matter where we put this song because it has always had a strong effect on the audience, all the way back to the first time we played it—before it was even recorded. It was written on tour and we threw it in the set to see how it would go down. The audience had an amazing reaction to it without even knowing what it was," said Schon about the track.
The track would end up becoming a major hit for Journey when it was released as a single and as part of their 1983 album, Frontiers. It spent four weeks at No.1 on Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks and spent six consecutive weeks at No.8 on the Hot 100 chart. Its music video also gained attention as one of their first choreographed videos that has been tagged as one of the worst.
"Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" would be revived in popularity when it became a hit theme for Tron: Legacy and was used as a remix in Stranger Things Season 4. Perry commented that he was "absolutely stunned by the feeling that I got from it. Because it was so organic and analogy, and I was stunned that the vocal was emotionally that good.”
Its use in the Netflix series led frontman Chris Daughtry to release his own cover alongside Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale. It just so happened that their release of the song coincided with the 40th anniversary of the original track.

1977 Box Office Flop Named All-Time Favorite Film by the ‘King of Horror’
Stephen King has well earned his moniker as the King of Horror with page-turning nightmare fuel like It, The Shining, The Stand, and Pet Sematary—all of which have received solid nail-biting screen adaptations. Yet one film stands apart for him from not only his own terror-inducing work but everyone else’s, too: William Friedkin’s 1977 action thriller, Sorcerer.
“My favorite film of all time—this may surprise you—is Sorcerer,” King shared in an interview with the British Film Institute. “Some may argue that the [George] Clouzot film [the original The Wages of Fear] is better; I beg to disagree.”
Released in the summer of 1977, Sorcerer was up against some stiff competition, specifically George Lucas' Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. But if the early '70s were any indication, Friedkin would do just fine with his third film of the decade, right? Wrong.
Riding high off the success of The French Connection (1971) and The Exorcist (1973), which received both critical and commercial success, and cleaned up at the Academy Awards, Friedkin hit a proverbial snag with Sorcerer. The film even became one of the year’s most notorious commercial disappointments.
Since its release nearly 50 years ago, however, the film has been reassessed and reevaluated as a masterpiece, with the reversal resting on the film's harrowing practical effects and its existential, anti-heroic themes.
“In order to be Stephen King's all-time favorite film, it would have to deliver the thrills and chills the novelist has brought to the page for a half-century,” Collider wrote. “While not a traditional horror film, this 1977 gem evokes the psychological torture and agonizing suspense of King's masterpieces.”
Adapted from Georges Arnaud’s 1950 French novel, Le Salaire de la peur (The Wages of Fear), the film begins with four prologues, each one introducing a different character from a different part of the world. There’s American gangster Scanlon (Roy Scheider), corrupt French businessman Manzon (Bruno Cremer), German terrorist Kassel (Amidou), and Mexican assassin Nilo (Francesco Bilal).
Due to their desperate circumstances, all four men end up in a remote part of Latin America, where their paths then cross on a suicide mission transporting cases of dynamite across the jungle.
“The jungle’s rough terrain, whose smallest bump could cause the worst of catastrophes, forces the four men to test their sanity while being given no choice but to learn to trust one another,” Underexposed Cinematic Treasures wrote about the film’s white-knuckle plot.
Though it sounds exciting, commercially, the film was a disaster, grossing only about $9 million at the box office against a bloated budget of $22 million.
Critically, however, Sorcerer's reputation has only grown with time, finding a passionate new audience, including one of its most famous champions, Stephen King. Now, it holds an impressive 84% from critics and 83% from fans on Rotten Tomatoes.

This Acclaimed Superhero Movie Was Just Named the Best Thriller of the Last 25 Years
The demarcation of a good thriller movie is a well-crafted script with plenty of electrifying moments and exciting turns. The publication Colliderrecently spotlighted some beloved thrillers with gripping storylines, with a ranking of "the 15 best thriller movies of the last 25 years."
2024's Conclave, Gone Girl, released in 2014,One Battle After Another from 2025, and 2003's Oldboywere a few of the films on Collider's list, published on July 20. According to the publication, the top five thrillers released after 2001 are 2014's Whiplash, Inception from 2010, 2007's No Country for Old Men, 2006'sChildren of Men, with 2008's The Dark Knight taking home the list's top spot.
Collider complimented the Christopher Nolan-directed Batman film, starring Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger as Bruce Wayne, AKA Batman, and The Joker, for managing to stress out viewers for the entirety of its 2-hour and 32-minute runtime.
Jonathan Nolan Explained Why His Brother, Christopher Nolan, Originally Wasn't Too Keen on Making 'The Dark Knight'Nolan's brother, Jonathan Nolan, co-wrote the script for The Dark Knight, a sequel to 2005's Batman Begins. During a 2024 interview on Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, Jonathan said that his brother was "unsure about whether he wanted to make another Batman movie" after the release of Batman Begins. Jonathan explained he believed that Christopher didn't want "to repeat himself" by making a sequel and was "very satisfied with" and "very proud of Batman Begins." He said, however, that he disagreed with his brother and had wanted to continue making films in the world of Gotham.
"From my perspective, I was like, it's like we've made this sports car. It's like we've built this sports car, right? And don't you want to take it for a drive?" explained Jonathan in the 2024 interview.
Jonathan then said he felt some pressure to write a compelling draft for The Dark Knight to convince his brother, who was busy directing The Prestige (2006), that a sequel was necessary. He also said that his draft was inspired by Heat (1995) and the acclaimed HBO series, The Wire. The screenwriter explained that he wanted The Dark Knight to have "this fully naturalistic world, and by the end it's a Greek opera," which is seen in both Heat and The Wire.
According to Jonathan, Christopher was pleased with his script and "added some beautiful ideas to it." Jonathan clarified that most of his original screenplay was untouched and appeared in the final product.
"I was actually kind of terrified at some of the things that had been left in that script because they felt a little edgy for what we knew had to be a PG-13 Batman movie, and so it was one of those sort of be careful what you wish for moments," said Jonathan, who also was Christopher's co-writer for his third Batman film, 2012's The Dark Knight Rises.

What the 'King of the Hill' Cast Has Been Doing Since the Original Series Ended
Hank, Peggy, Bobby and the whole Arlen, TX crew are back as the King of the Hill revival returned to Hulu and Disney+ on Monday, July 20. Season 15 marks the second season of the animated reboot, following the sitcom's original run on FOX from January 1997 to September 2009.
Over the years, the series has featured a revolving door of high-profile guest stars, from Oscar winners (Matthew McConaughey, Renée Zellweger) to comedy icons (Betty White, Chris Rock) to music legends (Tom Petty,Snoop Dogg) and beyond. But the 10-episode new season focuses on our beloved King of the Hill regulars, including hardworking propane salesman Hank Hill (Mike Judge), his loyal wife Peggy (Kathy Najimy) and their now-twentysomething son Bobby (Pamela Adlon), as they face problems in the modern era.
Talking with Parade last season, showrunner Saladin K. Patterson shared the excitement of bringing back the original voice cast for the revival. “We were so blessed to have had the original cast members come back because they wanted to. Because they were a family, and they were all revisiting each other like you would a family reunion or family dinner, stepping into these characters again.”

Alongside Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation), series co-creator Mike Judge began developing King of the Hill while he was working on another iconic animated series: Beavis and Butt-Head, which he also created. But his contributions to KOTH extend onscreen as well: Judge voices several of the show's characters, including Jeff Boomhauer, Stuart Dooley and, of course, Hill family patriarch Hank. Along with the King of the Hill reprisal on Hulu, in which he reprises the role of Hank, Judge also created several other TV shows—including The Goode Family for ABC, Silicon Valley for HBO and Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus for Cinemax—since the original sitcom ended.

Though widely known for her iconic turns in movies like Sister Act,Soapdish and Hocus Pocus, Kathy Najimy is arguably most famous to TV fans as Peggy Hill, the pragmatic yet polarizing matriarch of the Hill family, a role she's currently reprising in the Hulu revival. “I’m so lucky that they’ve written this character that seems like it would be really challenging to do," the 69-year-old star—who also showed up in this year's animated flick Hoppers—told The Boston Herald ahead of the Season 15 premiere. "But she’s so real—and they’re so consistent with who she is, what her quirks are. What she loves and how she talks. And what her intentions are. It’s a very easy lift for me to fall into her world.”

Yes, this whole time, Hank and Peggy's son Bobby was being voiced by a grown woman: Pamela Adlon, to be exact, who took home a Primetime Emmy Award for her performance as the youngest Hill during the series' original run and is currently up for yet another Emmy for the first season of the streaming revival. (You'll find out if she wins when the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony takes place on Sept. 14.) Outside of Arlen, Texas, Adlon is known for her numerous contributions with controversial comic Louis C.K., including the series Lucky Louie, Louie and Better Things, the latter of which earned a Peabody.

Actress-singer Brittany Murphy—who film fans know from beloved flicks like Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, Drop Dead Gorgeous and Uptown Girls, among others—voiced the character of Luanne Platter, Peggy's naive niece who lives with the Hill family while her mother is in jail, for the entire O.G. King of the Hill run on FOX. However, Murphy tragically died at the age of 32 in December 2009, just a few months after the animated sitcom aired its series finale. Rather than recast Murphy's role in the Hulu revival, the powers that be decided to formally retire both the character of Luanne and her husband Lucky in honor of the late actress.
Johnny HardwickSadly, Brittany Murphy isn't the only member of the King of the Hill family that we've lost over the years: Johnny Hardwick, who not only was a staff writer, story editor and producer on the sitcom but also voiced the character of Dale Gribble for 257 out of 258 total episodes, passed away in August 2023 at the age of 64. At the time of his death, Hardwick had already recorded voice performances for the first six episodes of the King of the Hill revival on Hulu; in the remaining four episodes of Season 14, Dale was performed by Toby Huss. The episode "Any Given Hill-Day" was dedicated to Hardwick's memory.

If you've been watching the show of the season, Widow's Bay, you already know what Stephen Root has been up to lately: The prolific 74-year-old performer plays salty curmudgeon Wych Crawford in the Apple TV+ horror-comedy series. Along with King of the Hill—in which he voices several characters, including Bill Dauterive and Buck Strickland—Root also popped up this year in television shows like the AMC horror anthology The Terror: Devil in Silver and animated series Strip Law and Regular Show The Lost Tapes. Country Star Narrowly Avoids Massive Wardrobe Malfunction Mid-Performance
Ella Langley proved the show really does have to go on after nearly suffering a major wardrobe malfunction in front of thousands of fans over the weekend.
The 27-year-old country star was opening for Morgan Wallen in Baltimore when disaster struck just two songs into her set. Taking to her Instagram Stories the following day, Langley revealed just how close she came to an embarrassing onstage moment.
"Yesterday my entire dress came unzipped on song #2 in a 60 minute set in the pouring rain in a stadium full of people," she wrote.
But rather than letting it derail the performance, Langley quickly improvised. She threw on an oversized Baltimore Ravens jersey over her damaged dress and continued performing, earning cheers from the crowd. The purple jersey covered the unzipped gown while allowing part of her pink fringed skirt to peek out underneath.

Kevin Feige Reveals Adam Driver’s 'Long-Lived Tradition' of Rejecting Marvel Roles
Marvel Studios cannot seem to secure AdamDriver as their next superhero.
In an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the studio’s president, Kevin Feige, shared that the actor has repeatedly rejected offers welcoming him into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“It’s no secret we’d like to [work with Adam],” Feige shared. “But it’s a tradition to Zoom with him and then he passes. That’s a long-lived tradition. He couldn’t be more cordial. He is usually upfront about how he is feeling.”
The Marvel head shared this tidbit at a time when the internet is filled with rumors about Driver playing Magneto in Marvel’s X-Men reboot. Feige claimed that they haven’t made any casting decisions for the film.
The 42-year-old actor has seen quite a successful career. He has been nominated for two Academy Awards, for Best Supporting Actor in BlacKkKlansman and for Best Actor in Marriage Story. He is well known for his portrayal of Kylo Ren in the Star Wars franchise in films such as The Force Awakens (2015), The Last Jedi (2017), and The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
Driver enjoyed his time in the Star Wars universe and would've reprised his role if given the opportunity. He told the Associated Press last year that he and director StevenSoderbergh worked on a film about Kylo Ren called The Hunt for Ben Solo. The movie was killed by Disney executives.
“I always was interested in doing another ‘Star Wars,’” Driver told the outlet. “I had been talking about doing another one since 2021. Kathleen [Kennedy] had reached out. I always said: ‘With a great director and a great story, I’d be there in a second.’ I loved that character and loved playing him.”
Adding, “We presented the script to Lucasfilm. They loved the idea. They totally understood our angle and why we were doing it. We took it to BobIger and Alan Bergman, and they said no. They didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive. And that was that.”
1981 One-Hit Wonder, Written About a Phone Number Scribbled On a Bathroom Wall (Maybe), Now Saves Lives
The phone number made famous by Tommy Tutone's 1982 hit "867-5309/Jenny" is now a cancer helpline. In March 2026, the Cancer Support Community and Gilda's Club repurposed the number as a resource for anyone impacted by cancer, turning one of the most prank-called digits in American history into a lifeline. Tommy Heath, 78, the vocalist who sang those numbers into pop culture history, is battling minor skin cancer himself and called the repurposing "incredibly meaningful."
Nobody agrees on where the number came from. That's the other story.
Tommy Heath says Jenny was real. A woman whose number he found, called, and dated. "I speak to her once in a while," he told ABC Audio in 2026. "We joke about having a reality show about what really happened."
His co-writer Alex Call has a completely different version. "I actually just came up with the 'Jenny' and the telephone number and the music and all that just sitting in my backyard," Call told American Songwriter. "There was no Jenny. I don't know where the number came from. I was just trying to write a four-chord rock song, and it just kind of came out."
Call even addressed the more compelling version directly. "Tommy Tutone's been using the story for years that there was a Jenny and she ran a recording studio and so forth. It makes a better story, but it's not true. That sounds a lot better than I made it up under a plum tree in my backyard."
And then there's co-writer Jim Keller, who told Guitar Player the label simply invented the story. "There was never a real Jenny, and none of us saw that number anywhere," Keller said. "Our label thought we should make up a good story about it, so we went with it."
Three people. Three versions. One number.
Whatever its origin, the number didn't stay in the song. It jumped out of the radio and into real life, and real life wasn't prepared for it.
In 2009, a New Jersey DJ who'd held onto his 867-5309 number tried to sell it on eBay. Bids reached $350,000. Before that, people who happened to have the number had been fielding prank calls from strangers for years. Many changed their numbers. Tommy Tutone never had another hit like it. The band faded. The number didn't.
The number has since appeared in Breaking Bad, The Office and Scrubs. It's been covered by dozens of artists, used in commercials, and referenced in films for four decades. A one-hit wonder's phone number became one of the most culturally persistent strings of digits in American history.
In 2026, Jenny's Number Answers for Something RealIn March 2026, the Cancer Support Community and Gilda's Club made it official. The number 867-5309 is now a cancer helpline. Heath said it felt right immediately. "I gave a 'yes' as soon as they asked me, because we've all got to give back sometimes," he told ABC Audio.
He's 78. He has minor skin cancer. He knows what it means to get a call that helps.
"When we recorded this, none of us imagined that number would still be stuck in people's heads decades later," Heath told People. "If that little piece of pop culture can now help someone remember Cancer Support Community's helpline and connect them to real people, real community, and real support, that's incredibly meaningful to us."

Kids Who Grow up With Condescending Parents Often Develop These 7 Traits as Adults, Psychologist Says
Unfortunately, many individuals grew up with parents who were, well, less than stellar. Maybe you had an “eggshell parent” who was volatile. Maybe you were raised by a gaslighter, or your caregivers were emotionally immature. These are only a few examples.
If you’d put yourself into any of those categories, it might have contributed to certain traits you exhibit now, as an adult. Do people-pleasing, self-gaslighting or having walls up sound familiar? Again, those are a few of many examples. They make sense, too: Our childhood experiences can subtly affect us our entire lives. They shape our ways of perceiving and navigating the world.
Within this conversation, we can’t forget to address the effects of growing up with condescending parents. Feeling like you’re being “talked down to”—even though you are younger and perhaps less knowledgeable—can be hurtful, with possible ramifications on your mindset, perspective, feelings and behaviors, even into adulthood.
For further insight, validation and support, a psychologist shares seven common traits of people raised by condescending parents, what you need to know if this sounds like your experience and how to kickstart your healing journey. It’s not full-blown therapy—that’s needed, too—but it’s a start.

Common Behaviors of Condescending ParentsCondescending people treat others like they are inferior—and unfortunately, that dynamic can exist in parent-child relationships.
“A parent who has an attitude of superiority often communicates with their child as if they were stupid,” says Dr. Shannon Franklin, PsyD, a licensed psychologist with Element Q Healing.
She lists examples of what that might entail, saying the parent might:
- Make fun of their child’s question.
- Be stern when correcting them.
- Disregard the child’s feelings.
- Use phrases like: “You’re so sensitive,” “You will understand when your time comes” or “Stop pretending to think you already know this."

7 Common Traits of People Raised by Condescending Parents, According to a PsychologistBesides flat-out making you feel bad in the moment, those experiences could have caused you to develop certain traits in adulthood. Dr. Franklin shares and explains seven key examples.
1. Chronic self-doubtConstantly questioning or second-guessing yourself? That’s one sign you grew up with condescending parents.
“As adults, many things that would normally seem like an easy decision to make now create stress for them,” Dr. Franklin says.
It makes sense: You were constantly made to think you were dumb and “overreacting.”
2. Fear of self-expressionWhether it’s about clothes, personality or how they talk, adults raised by condescending parents are often afraid to express themselves.
“When they were young, they may have had their opinions laughed at or shut off,” Dr. Franklin explains. “Now, they use silence as a method of feeling comfortable.”
3. People-pleasingThese adults are like chameleons in that they can mold themselves, typically into the people they think others want them to be. Their main goal is to keep others happy.
“Often, this is due to an early belief that to earn approval, he/she must [people-please],” Dr. Franklin says.
They may put their own needs aside in the process, she continues, in hopes of preventing others’ judgment or criticism.

4. PerfectionismDo you have a big fear of “messing up” or sounding uninformed? Do you feel inadequate and fight to ensure everything you do is mistake-free? You might be a perfectionist, and you might have grown up with condescending parents.
“In many cases, children who have been raised by overly critical parents will believe that all errors are shameful,” Dr. Franklin explains. “Therefore, as adults, perfection becomes an important goal for them, in part because they wish to be able to be judged favorably by others.”
Unfortunately, that pressure can create loads of stress and even lead to burnout.
5. Sensitivity to criticismSome of the above traits—like perfectionism and people-pleasing—also tie back to a sensitivity to criticism. This trait is certainly understandable, too, given that feedback can be hurtful, especially if it’s been weaponized against you.
Dr. Franklin explains that the critical parent “may have criticized them and made them believe that everything they did was wrong,” and that’s why the adult might now “react when they hear [someone] criticize anything about them.”
6. Difficulty trusting themselvesAdults who grew up with condescending parents may need other people to help them make or approve of decisions.
What’s particularly sad about this is it can “make it difficult for a child to develop a sense of self,” according to Dr. Franklin. For example, they might not know what they truly feel, want or dislike because of that implanted self-doubt.
7. OverexplainersLast but not least, these adults often overexplain their actions, decisions and feelings.
“This is due, in part, to the fact that many times as an adult, you will feel like others do not understand your feelings,” Dr. Franklin says. That may feel especially true when that was the case in your childhood.

How To Heal, According to a PsychologistIf there’s one thing Dr. Franklin wants these adults to know, it’s this: “Your voice was never what caused problems for you. What was the problem is how you have been treated.”
To heal, she encourages noticing that inner critic’s voice and asking yourself, “Whose voice does this sound like?” Chances are, it’s not yours.
Additionally, she encourages talking to a therapist, practicing making small decisions and honoring your needs. Healing is possible for you, too—don’t forget or second-guess that.

'80s Rock Band Announces New Album 48 Years After Forming
Nearly five decades after first taking the stage, Girlschool is preparing to celebrate a major milestone the best way it knows how: with new music.
The pioneering British rock band has confirmed that it plans to release a new studio album in 2028 to mark its 50th anniversary. Guitarist and vocalist Kim McAuliffe shared the update in a recent interview, revealing that the band has already started discussing ideas for what will become its next full-length record.
Although details remain under wraps, McAuliffe said the group intends to spend 2027 writing before entering the studio, with the goal of having the album ready in time for the band's golden anniversary celebrations in 2028. The release would follow 2023's WTFortyfive?, which commemorated Girlschool's 45th year and earned praise for proving the band still had plenty of energy left in the tank.
The announcement comes as Girlschool continues to defy expectations.
Formed in 1978, the band emerged as one of the defining acts of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, standing alongside contemporaries such as Iron Maiden, Saxon, and Motörhead. Led by founding members Kim McAuliffe and drummer Denise Dufort, Girlschool quickly built a reputation for its hard-hitting blend of heavy metal and punk attitude, breaking barriers in a genre that was overwhelmingly dominated by men.
"We were too punk for the rock audience, and too rock for the punk audience," Dufort told The Guardian.

Even after announcing that its 2024 trek would be its final full tour of North America, Girlschool has made it clear that retirement isn't on the agenda. Instead, the group has continued performing internationally while keeping its focus firmly on recording new material.
"In 1978, had somebody predicted Girlschool would still be around forty-five years later, I'd have told 'em they were stupid," McAuliffe told Louderin 2023. "In our twenties I remember the four of us promising that when we hit forty, no matter where we were in the world, we’d all meet up again and celebrate – nobody thinking for a moment that the band could still be going."
Forty-eight years after forming, Girlschool remains one of heavy musics true trailblazers. With a landmark anniversary on the horizon and another album already in the works, the legendary band is proving that its groundbreaking legacy is still being written.

FIFA Crops President Donald Trump Out of Spain’s World Cup Celebration Photo After Medal Ceremony
On Sunday, Spain defeated Argentina in the final of the 2026 World Cup, and it was President Donald Trump who presented the team with the trophy.
He handed it to star player Rodri, who lifted the trophy high in the air, with the rest of the team jumping in celebration. However, Trump then lingered on stage, standing right beside Spain at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Numerous photos of this iconic moment were snapped, and Trump was in many of them until he was ultimately ushered away.
In a photo shared by FIFA on social media to celebrate Spain's win, it was immediately noticeable that they strategically cropped out Trump, making it so it was just the team in the photo.

His friendship with Infantino has been subject to a lot of backlash throughout the tournament, specifically when he made a personal phone call, asking him to review the suspension of USA striker Folarin Balogun.
“All I did, I asked for a review because I didn’t think it was a foul,” Trump said at the time, defending his actions. “I saw the play, and I’m a person who loves sports and was a good athlete. That wasn’t a foul. That wasn’t even an infraction.”
A photo Spain posted also did not include Trump. But, the White House's official account shared a few photos on X, which showed Trump standing beside Spain after the trophy presentation.
"An EPIC @FIFAWorldCup in America comes to a close with President Donald J. Trump crowning the champions," they captioned the post. "The world came to watch, and America delivered. See you next time, FIFA ?"
Trump has already made it clear that he wants the United States to host again.
