Crofton 11-Inch Stainless Steel Honeycomb Pan, $19.99 at Aldi

Aldi

Back on shelves after making an appearance last year, Crofton's 11-Inch Stainless Steel Honeycomb pans are hard to ignore. Sporting a signature raised honeycomb pattern made popular by the HexClad brand, these pans feature an aluminum core construction sandwiched between two layers of quality stainless steel, delivering a scratch-resistant, multi-faceted cookware surface.

Boasting even heat retention, easy cleanup and a world of potential uses, shoppers can expect to find both coated and uncoated versions upon arrival on June 3, each perfect for sautéing vegetables, stir-frying, searing steaks and building tasty pan sauces. Even better, they're compatible with all cooktops, including induction, and oven-safe up to 428°F, making it easy to move from stovetop to oven without skipping a beat.

Coated vs. Uncoated: What to Know

Aldi

If you're eyeing one up for yourself, you might be wondering whether the coated or uncoated version is best for you. For starters, the coated option features a nonstick layer that helps food release easily and makes cleanup a breeze, especially when cooking eggs, pancakes and other delicate dishes.

The uncoated version, on the other hand, features a more traditional stainless steel surface that requires a bit more oil and a slow, steady heat-up. While uncoated stainless steel pans don't offer quite the same quick release as their nonstick counterparts, they reward you with better browning and high-heat performance, which really comes in clutch when searing meats and harnessing deeper flavors.

Stainless Steel Care Tips

To keep your pan performing its best, a little extra care goes a long way. With these tips in mind, you can essentially guarantee years of reliable use:

  • Heat the pan gradually to ensure even cooking and prevent hotspots
  • Allow it to cool before washing to help preserve its shape and integrity
  • Wash with warm soapy water and a soft sponge after each use
  • Avoid abrasive scrubbers and metal utensils that can damage the nonstick surface
  • While dishwasher safe, handwashing is always best for maintaining the finish over time

If you've been eyeing HexClad pans but don't want to spend an arm and a leg, Aldi's dupe is an easy way to get a taste of the action for a fraction of the price. While you're at it, check out Aldi's woven serving tray and foldable acacia wood patio table for a couple more budget-friendly home and kitchen upgrades.

Swamp Rock Legend Behind Some of Classic Rock's Biggest Songs Turns 81

11 hours 47 min ago

He's one of the most celebrated artists in all of rock and roll, and now he's celebrating his 81st birthday.

John Fogerty, the iconic songwriter and frontman for Creedance Clearwater Revival, officially turrned 81 on Thursday, May 28, marking another year in a career that helped shape classic American rock music as we know it.

Fogerty is responsible for some of the biggest hits of the late '60s and early '70s. With one of the most distinctive voices in rock music and songwriting that has stood the test of time, CCR songs like "Fortunate Son," "Proud Mary," and "Bad Moon Rising," helped shaped the sound of a generation.

But the legendary swamp-rock sound that CCR became known for has endured for over half a century now, with some of Fogerty's hits, like "Have You Ever Seen the Rain," recently climbing the charts again after 56 years.

View this post on Instagram

Just last year, "Fortunate Son" was named the most-streamed song from the '60s in 2025, proving that Fogerty's songwriting continues to resonate with listeners across generations.

And while he might be one year older, Fogerty is living proof that age is just a number. He is not only in the middle of a Legacy Tour with his Travelin' Band (featuring members of his own family), but even all these years later, fans say Fogerty still sounds exactly the same when singing some of his most beloved hits.

Related: John Fogerty‘Still Sounds So Good’ Performing One Of His Most ‘Underrated’ Songs

Surprisingly, though, Fogerty and Creedence Clearwater Revival never had a No. 1 hit, with several of their biggest songs instead peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100: "Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," "Lookin' Out My Back Door/Long As I Can See the Light," "Green River" and "Travelin' Band/Who'll Stop the Rain."

With CCR, Fogerty released three Top 10 albums in 1969 alone, and the group had 14 consecutive Top 10 singles. Some of their fan-favorite tracks include "Down on the Corner," "Born on the Bayou" "Up Around the Bend" and many, many more.

In 1993, Fogerty was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and his music catalog — which he triumphantly regained ownership of in 2023 — remains one of the most recognizable in classic rock history.

Guitar Legend First Heard Future Bandmate Sing 43 Years Ago—Then They Became 'the Most Dangerous Band in Rock'

12 hours 21 min ago

On this day in 1983, a future rock legend heard something he couldn’t ignore.

It was May 28 when Slash walked into Gazzarri’s on the Sunset Strip, in Los Angeles, California, to watch Axl Rose sing with the band Rapidfire.

At the time, neither musician was close to fame. Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip was packed with young bands chasing their break, and Gazzarri’s was one of the key stops in the city’s underground rock scene. It was the kind of night that came and went for most people in the crowd—another set, another unknown singer, another hopeful performance in a crowded music world.

But something about that performance stood out. For Slash, it wasn’t just another show—it was a moment that shifted how he thought about vocals and connection in music. Looking back, it would become one of those quiet turning points that only makes sense in hindsight, when the bigger story finally unfolds.

"I'd worked with different singers on and off for a while, and then when I met Axl and we started jamming together, he was the only singer that ever brought an emotional content to it that affected me on an emotional level, on an energy level," Slash said during an episode of Revolver's "Fan First" series, according to Loudwire. "A song all of a sudden went to a whole new level, and I felt it..."

That moment stuck with him.

Two years later, the pair would cross paths again—and eventually help form Guns N’ Roses, one of the most explosive bands in rock history. Slash initially wasn’t in the lineup, as guitarist Tracii Guns held the role of lead guitarist before leaving due to creative differences. This opened the door for what would become a defining lineup in rock music.

Of course, things weren't always rainbows and butterflies for the group, and Slash actually walked away from Guns N' Roses in 1997. He and Rose had a 20-year feud that kept them from making magic together, but they reunited in 2016 for a new era of the most dangerous band in rock.

Star of One of Daytime TV’s Most-Watched Weddings Ever Reveals the 'Days of Our Lives' Plots She Actually Prefers

12 hours 37 min ago

For over 40 years, on and off, Mary Beth Evans has portrayed Dr. Kayla Johnson on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. In honor of her 40th anniversary, the actress is reflecting upon the type of stories she loves the most.

Evans joined the, then NBC, soap opera on May 23, 1986, assuming the role of Kayla after Catherine Mary Stewart had portrayed the character for nearly two years in 1982.

Speaking with TV Insider’s Stephanie Sloane, Evans reflected on the highs and lows of the last 40 years.

During the conversation, the actress discussed what her favorite types of stories are. For Evans, it isn’t the action-adventure or sci-fi storylines that resonate the most, it's the more subtle family moments that stand out for her. “I love the family stories because I think that’s really where Steven’s and my hearts are in real life, too,” she shared.

The actress added that some of her favorite memories on the show were shared with her on-screen brother, Bo Brady, played by Peter Reckell.

Another standout storyline for Evans involved her on-screen mother, Caroline Brady (Peggy McKay). “When Kayla’s mother Caroline had dementia [in 2012], that was painfully heartbreaking, beautiful stuff to play with Peggy McCay, who was amazing.”

The actress elaborated, sharing,  “I would rather be in a heartfelt family story than a caper, or something that’s not based in reality, any day of the week.”

Kayla has been in her fair share of larger-than-life storylines over the years. From her husband Steve returning to Salem with the “essence” of their arch nemesis, Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo), implanted inside him as a microchip, to her sister-in-law Hope (Kristian Alfonso) turning into the jewel thief Princess Gina.

But it is the moments surrounding family and friends that resonate with viewers, with Kayla and Steve’s wedding remaining one of Days of our Lives and daytime television's most-watched weddings of all time.

Fans on social media shared their love for Evans portrayal of Kayla over the years. One user wrote on X, "Mary Beth has given Kayla everything and made her a character we all love."

Evans continues to portray Kayla with brand-new episodes of Days of Our Lives streaming weekdays on Peacock.

Quote of the Day: Helen Keller on the ‘True Test of a Character’—Facing Hard Moments With ‘Determination'

12 hours 45 min ago

Helen Keller’s story is one that many people are familiar with. She was a famous American author, educator and disability rights activist, who achieved all of her accolades without sight or the ability to hear. Born on June 27, 1880, in Alabama, Keller fell sick at 19 months old and became blind and deaf because of it, per Britannica. Famously, her story didn’t just end there; she went on to graduate from Radcliffe College of Harvard University, which made her the first deafblind person in the United States to earn a college degree, per the New York Times.

She also became a “major 20th-century humanitarian” according to the National Women’s History Museum, advocating for the blind and for women’s suffrage, even co-founding the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). With her remarkable story of triumph and success despite hardships and difficulties, our quote of the day by Keller shares her philosophy on how to see someone’s true character.

It wasn’t until Keller was six, when Alexander Graham Bell examined her blindness and deafness, that she was taken under the tutelage of Anne Sullivan, a teacher who graduated from the Perkins Institute for the Blind in Boston. Until then, Keller was communicating with signs, but after working with Sullivan, she was able to communicate better through touch (learning the alphabet and words through Sullivan spelling them out on her hand). She later learned how to read Braille and to speak as a young teenager. Sullivan stayed with Keller, continuing to aid with her education, and was also a trusted companion, until Sullivan died in 1936.

Keller wrote two famous books, The Story of My Life in 1902 and Optimism in 1903, all before she even graduated from college. She did a lot of advocacy work for women, blind people and peace in general, before and after Sullivan died until Keller’s own death in 1968. She was a socialist and a pacifist, visiting soldiers in hospitals during World War I. She also founded the American Foundation for the Blind in 1924.

Keller led such an accomplished life with disabilities that many would consider insurmountable. And while we shouldn’t think about her just because of those disabilities, it’s notable what she did with her life and work. Our quote today hits on her mindset regarding how to see someone’s true character based on their determination and how they work through hardships.

Quote of the Day by Helen Keller

CanvaPro/Parade

"The true test of a character is to face hard conditions with the determination to make them better."

Keller wrote this line in a “Letter from Helen Keller about her optimism in God's plans in spite of her disabilities," dated March 30, 1921, per the Helen Keller Archive. This letter was addressed to “friends,” and basically is her inspirational words about life. She starts by saying, “We are bound together not only [by] limitations, but by the overcoming of them.”

As the “title” of the letter given by the Helen Keller Archive states, the gist of this letter is optimistic and about pushing through and succeeding in life despite her disabilities, which are well-known in history.

At the end of the first page, into the second, she writes our quote of the day:

“Remember, something difficult is something to overcome. Sometimes the tools God puts in our hands are limitations. The busy world shoves aside those who are crippled in one or more senses. But that is no reason why we should fret and mope. The true test of a character is to face hard conditions with the determination to make them better.”

Deeper Meaning of Helen Keller’s Quote—True Test of Character

While Keller’s larger quote is rooted in her personal faith, the main sentiment she made is still universal.

After all, her letter is filled with optimism and explaining the importance of strengthening your resolve in life. That, despite “limitations” and any “disabilities," you can still accomplish things. But you can’t do that if you “sulk” or "worry," as Keller says.

“All the energy, all the courage, all the mind we have are needed in the struggle of life,” she wrote.

And she’s right; you can really exhaust yourself emotionally to the point of burnout or despair by worrying too much or overthinking things. Granted, some people have mental health conditions that can’t just be overcome simply with positive thinking. But many of us can achieve a lot just by not giving into doomscrolling or self-deprecating thinking.

Some of Keller’s points had to do with physically getting up and doing something, but whatever task you're facing, this mindset can do you some good if you take it to heart. It’s how you push through and continue with determination that solidifies your character.

More Quotes from Helen Keller
  • "The human being is born with an incurable capacity for making the best of things."
  • "Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement; nothing can be done without hope."
  • "To keep on trying in spite of disappointment and failure is the only way to keep young and brave. Failures become victories if they make us wise-hearted."
  • "Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows."
  • "Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the face."
  • "I do not like the world as it is; so I am trying to make it a little more as I want it."

'Princess of Pop' Turns 58

13 hours 21 min ago

In 1968, Kylie Minogue was born in Melbourne, Australia.

Minogue is celebrating her 58th birthday today and is widely regarded as one of the most successful recording artists of all time.

She began her career as an actress, landing a role on the Australian soap opera Neighbours in 1986. At the time, Neighbours was one of Australia’s most popular television exports, helping introduce Minogue to audiences far beyond Melbourne. Her role quickly made her a household name, but few could have predicted how quickly she would pivot into a global music career. Her early singles became instant hits, particularly in the UK and Australia, marking one of the fastest transitions from television fame to pop stardom in modern music history.

Just a year later, she launched into music with the singles “The Loco-Motion” and “I Should Be So Lucky.” Producer Pete Waterman later admitted he had never even heard of her when she first began recording.

"I remember Matt [Aitken] telling me 'this kid's got an amazing voice and is a great learner of a song'. We taught her the song once, she'd remembered it straight away. Because she's an actress, of course," Waterman recalled in the Netflix documentary Kylie, according to BBC News. "This sounds ridiculous [but] we had no concept of how big Kylie was."

Minogue has since become the highest-selling Australian female artist of all time, with more than 80 million records sold worldwide and 17 studio albums to her name, including Tension II (2024).

Netflix released Kylie globally on May 20, just eight days before her birthday.

The documentary traces her journey from Australian soap star to global pop icon, highlighting her impact on pop culture and decades of reinvention across music eras.

Becka’s Story on ‘The Testaments’ Is Completely Different From Margaret Atwood’s Book

13 hours 30 min ago

As soon as The Testaments premiered on Hulu, it was clear it wouldn’t follow the storyline in the book by Margaret Atwood. Set only four years after The Handmaid’s Tale, Daisy’s age made it impossible for her to be Baby Nichole. It turns out that isn’t the only way the series is diverging from the novel.

Becka’s whole storyline has changed, leading to an explosive and thrilling Season 1 finale. It brings up plenty of questions about where the show can go during The Testaments Season 2, which has already been confirmed. In a way, it adds to the fun, as now book fans can make their theories and get invested in a way they wouldn’t have done before.

The Testaments Season 1 finale saw Weston come to Becka’s aid, giving people a chance to figure out how to save her from execution for the murder of her father. Garth still married her, while her mom took the blame, leading to her own execution on Becka’s wedding day.

THE TESTAMENTS - “Secateurs” - Disney/Steve Wilkie

Becka had been medicated leading up to the wedding by Aunt Estee, and that meant she was still drugged when Garth got her home. We ended that part of the story with Garth locking the bedroom door, which will have shocked many considering he is supposedly part of Mayday.

How did it change from The Testaments novel? Well, Becka doesn’t marry anyone in the books.

The storyline with Dr. Grove is much darker, with the story revealing that he also abused and sexually assaulted his own daughter. Rather than training to be a wife, Becka turned to Aunt Lydia for help to train to be an Aunt instead. Yes, she even kills her father in the books, but there isn’t much that comes from that.

THE TESTAMENTS - “Secateurs” - Disney/Russ Martin

In the end, as Aunt Immortelle, Becka is able to aid Mayday. She sacrifices her own life to make sure Agnes and Daisy can get out of Gilead, where they are reunited with their mother.

There are still ways for some of Becka’s arc to play out on The Testaments Season 2. By marrying Garth, there’s a chance that she can learn about Mayday and become a part of it. Considering her romantic love for Agnes, she could even end up sacrificing her life for her friend. However, the entire storyline has shifted, and it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Clarks' Wedge Sandals Feel 'Like Walking on a Cloud,' and They're Nearly 50% Off on Amazon

If you’ve been looking for a pair of sandals you can wear beyond one quick dinner out, Amazon is running a must-see deal on the perfect pair for summer. The Clarks Collection Merliah Karli Sandals are currently on sale for $50, down from $95, making them nearly 50% off. They come in three colors, including black, metallic, and white, and they’re available in sizes 5 through 12, with narrow and wide widths offered in select sizes.

They feature a leather upper, a wedge heel, and an adjustable hook-and-loop strap for a more secure fit. They also have a foam footbed for support, a lightweight, shock-absorbing outsole, and plenty of arch support, which makes them a much more practical choice for all-day wear than flat sandals or flip-flops.

The sandals’ wedge shape makes them a breeze to pair with lots of different outfits for various occasions. They also offer the top-tier comfort that people expect from Clarks, so you’re fully prepared for long days of walking in warmer weather. Plus, the adjustable straps are helpful if your feet tend to swell in the heat or you’re between widths.

One reviewer wrote, “These are the most comfortable sandals you will ever own.” Another said they feel “like walking on a cloud,” while a third noted they have the “comfort and support of a top-of-the-line running shoe,” which is definitely impressive for a wedge sandal. Other reviewers mentioned the adjustable straps, arch support, and versatile design that works for both casual and dressier outfits.

And if you’re torn between black and white, you could grab both while they’re on sale and still spend just about the same as one pair at full price.

85-Year-Old Music Legend Slams Today’s Biggest Stars: ‘They’re Richer Than God’

15 hours 23 min ago

Joan Baez is disappointed with the current generation of musicians.

In the most recent episode of the podcast Wiser Than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the 85-year-old spoke about the lack of activism she currently sees in young people.

“I sort of cock my head at these stadiums filled with brilliant young women songwriters, and why can’t they just take that little step?” Baez said.

The singer-songwriter has been vocal on many social issues since the very beginning of her career. She protested the Vietnam War, fought for civil rights, and even marched alongside Martin Luther King Jr. In 1965, she founded the Institute for the Study of Nonviolence with Ira Sandperl in California. Baez earned the John Steinbeck Award for her civil rights work in 2003.

Although she would like more young musicians to publicly express their beliefs, she tries to be empathetic to those who don't.

“I understand where they’re coming from,” Baez said. “The young people right now, some are writing amazing stuff. A few are willing to speak out.”

Among the musicians using their platform for social justice, Baez cited BrandiCarlile and Maggie Rogers. She was glad to see Rogers recently “front and center on the stage at a rally against ICE.”

The folk singer encourages other popular musicians to voice their thoughts as well.

“Because they’re already richer than God, you know, most of them. So, that little step,” she added.

Baez has seen a nearly 65-year career. Apart from her activism, she is known for songs such as “It Ain't Me Babe” (1964), “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” (1971), and “Diamonds & Rust” (1975). She earned a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017, and received a Kennedy Center Honors award in 2021.

1972 Hit From Iconic Rock Band Ranked Among 'Absolute Worst Rock Songs' of All Time

Wed, 05/27/2026 - 11:58pm

Black Sabbath’s iconic song “Iron Man” was ranked among the “Absolute Worst Rock Songs” of all time by music site The Vinyl District.

The track, which peaked at No. 52 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1972, appeared at No. 44 on The Absolute Worst 100 Songs in Rock History. The ranking sparked debate among rock and heavy metal fans because “Iron Man” has long been viewed as one of the most influential songs in metal music.

The Vinyl District mocked the song in its review, comparing it to another famous rock track.

“Which is the better song, Black Sabbath’s ‘Iron Man’ or the Edgar Winter Group’s ‘Frankenstein’? The latter of course, because it’s surprisingly nimble of foot and doesn’t clunk around in 54-pound diving boots at the bottom of the Marianas Trench.”

The article also joked that “in 1998 the International Metallographic Society voted iron ‘the stupidest metal ever’ by a wide margin.”

Even with the criticism, “Iron Man” continues to stand as one of Black Sabbath’s best-known songs and one of heavy metal’s defining records.

“Iron Man” was released in 1970 on Black Sabbath’s second studio album, Paranoid. The English band formed in Birmingham in 1968 and became one of the pioneers of heavy metal music.

The group’s original lineup featured Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward.

The song’s lyrics tell the story of a man who sees the apocalypse while traveling into the future. After trying to return and warn people, he is turned into steel by a magnetic field. The people around him laugh at and reject him, causing him to become angry and eventually bring about the disaster himself.

Butler later explained there was no connection between the song and Marvel’s Iron Man superhero. Instead, he said the lyrics were inspired by science-fiction ideas and an “iron bloke” comment made by Osbourne.

The track also became famous for its slow, crushing guitar riff written by Iommi. During recording sessions, producer Rodger Bain and engineer Tom Allom reportedly struggled to capture the full power of Ward’s bass drum because of technical limits in studio equipment at the time.

Black Sabbath’s dark sound, horror-inspired lyrics, and down-tuned guitars helped shape the heavy metal genre in the early 1970s. Albums including Black Sabbath, Paranoid and Master of Reality are now considered pioneering records in rock history.

Although some critics attacked “Iron Man,” the song has received major praise from other music outlets for decades.

Rolling Stone ranked the track No. 317 on its “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” list and placed it at No. 7 on its “100 Greatest Heavy Metal Songs of All Time” ranking in 2023. VH1 also named “Iron Man” the greatest heavy metal song ever.

The song later found a new audience after appearing in the ending credits of the 2008 film Iron Man. It was also used in marketing connected to Iron Man 2, while Tony Stark wore a Black Sabbath shirt in The Avengers movie.

Black Sabbath itself remains one of the most successful and influential heavy metal bands ever. The group sold more than 70 million records worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. MTV once ranked the band as the “Greatest Metal Band of All Time.”

Many famous rock and metal groups have cited Black Sabbath as an influence, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Pantera, Korn, Alice in Chains, Megadeth and Soundgarden.

In 2025, the original Black Sabbath lineup reunited one final time for a farewell charity concert titled Back to the Beginning in Birmingham. The performance marked the band’s last live appearance together and the final show of Osbourne’s career before his death later that month.

Despite criticism from The Vinyl District, “Iron Man” continues to hold an important place in music history.

It's officially the season when you can transfer your indoor reading nook to outside. And what better way to relax outdoors than by rocking back and forth in a luxurious hammock or swing chair. With Walmart's latest sales, we've found the perfect patio options that will upgrade your look and seating experience. The Lazzo Outdoor Patio Swing Chair is nearly 55% off, and will totally upgrade your backyard.

The swing chair originally cost $240, but has been reduced to $109 during a limited-time flash deal. Over 50 shoppers have already purchased the item since yesterday, and it's marked as Walmart's overall pick, which means it's a customer favorite. In the case that it goes out of stock quickly, make sure to shop for it while you can (and ahead of your next outdoor hangout or seasonal gathering).

The chair can support up to 528 pounds, so it can comfortably seat two people at a time. The furniture is 71.2 inches long, 46.3 inches wide, and 63.7 inches tall, and weighs 46.3 pounds, so you may need additional hands to maneuver it upon arrival. The chair is made of steel and is described as waterproof, which means you can leave it out in the rain without worry of rust.

The "relaxing" design features a black frame with gray cushions that are made of polyester. The best part of this chair though is that it's covered with an adjustable canopy, which blocks out the sun and provides curated shade. The cushions and canopy can be fully removed so that you can clean them easily or sunbathe whenever you please. There's a 6.7-gallon built-in cooler bag for beverages (which shoppers described as a "total game-changer"), side storage, and armrest cup holders in both chairs for your drinks and other essentials.

The customer further described the patio furniture as "sturdy," "comfortable," and "worth every penny." You will have to assemble the piece upon delivery, but a reviewer assured that putting it together is "straightforward."
