Beloved Rock Band Makes 20th Anniversary Announcement

Mon, 06/15/2026 - 1:46pm

Underoath has a surprise for their OG fans.

Underoath, which was formed in 1997 in Tampa, took to social media on Monday to announce a surprise mural and art event taking place this Saturday evening at the Rialto Theatre in Tampa, Florida, to honor and celebrate 20 years of their fifth studio album, Define The Great Line.

"You're cordially invited to attend a mural and art event in recognition of the 20th anniversary of Define The Great Line," the official statement read. "The evening will include an exclusive, one-of-a-kind mural installation created by Underoath, a gallery of memorabilia pulled from the Define The Great Line era and first access to purchase new DTGL merch..."

Tickets are free, but space is limited, and a standby line is expected to accommodate overflow. Special merch like a limited event T-shirt will be available for purchase, and complimentary speciality bourbon cocktails will be served.

"What this album has meant to us, and so many others, over the past 20 years is hard to quantify," Underoath's keyboard player, Christopher Dudley, shared in a statement to HM Magazine. "It gave us permission to be ourselves. It sent us around the world. It gave people the freedom to say (and scream) the things out loud they had buried deep. It will outlive us."

In addition to the art show, Underoath will be celebrating Define The Great Line on the road this fall. Announced just last week, the special anniversary tour will kick off in St. Louis on Nov. 5, then wrap up at the band's hometown of Tampa on Dec. 18. Additional stops include Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, Denver, Chicago, Montreal, Boston, Philadelphia, Indianapolis, New York City, Houston and more. Tickets went on sale last week and are available on Underoath's official website.

"We still play these songs on stage 20 years later and get those chills. The opportunity to devote an entire tour to presenting this album in the best way it ever has been, alongside friends we’ve had since before it was released, is going to be bucket list material for us," Dudley continued.

Underoath was originally founded by Dallas Taylor, Luke Morton and Aaron Gillespie as a Christian group, but they have since distanced themselves from the religion and started branding themselves as a metalcore and hard rock band. The lineup has changed multiple times during its early years, but now still includes Gillespie, along with Dudley, Timothy McTague, Grant Brandell and Spencer Chamberlain. As a band for 30 years, Underoath has released 12 studio albums, with their most recent being This Place After This One in 2025.

Define the Great Line, released on June 20, 2006, was the album that shot Underoath into the mainstream. The record, which had 11 tracks and includes their hit song "Writing On The Walls," peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, which became the highest charting Christian release on that chart since 1997. In addition, it was certified gold in the United States by the RIAA, and "Writing on the Walls" was nominated for Best Short Form Music Video at the 2007 Grammy Awards.

Compared to They're Only Chasing Safety, their previous album before DTGL, Chamberlain told Chorus.fm that they didn't intentionally try to change styles between the two.

"We just wanted [to] play what we enjoyed playing, and that’s what came out this time. It was not really a conscious effort; the only effort was to not put a limitation on it by saying this or that doesn’t fit who we are. That shouldn’t be a part of anything creative. We just wanted to do anything we wanted to do and that’s what we did," Chamberlain said. "[There were] a lot of things that we did on the last record that we were unhappy with. We knew that those were things we would not do again and that was really the only direction we had."

Fans can celebrate the 20th anniversary of Define The Great Line at their upcoming tour or the mural and art show this Saturday. Tickets for the art show can be found here.

Dave Ramsey Warns Retirees Mobile Homes Aren't the Money-Savers They Appear to Be

Mon, 06/15/2026 - 1:45pm

For retirees seeking a lower-cost place to live, mobile homes that offer reasonable prices, smaller spaces, and lower monthly expenses seem like a practical solution on paper. But personal finance expertDave Ramseyis warning that the math on mobile home investments may not work out the way many buyers expect.

@daveramsey

Mobile homes are a lot nicer than they used to be, but they still go down in value. They aren't like traditional homes that help people build wealth as a long-term investment.

Why Mobile Homes Don’t Build Wealth the Same Way

While mobile homes today are often far more modern and well-built than in past decades, Ramsey argues they still behave very differently from traditional homes when it comes to long-term investments, mainly because they don't usually appreciate in value.

One key reason is land ownership. Many mobile homes are sold without the land beneath them, meaning owners miss out on one of the biggest drivers of real estate wealth: land appreciation. Mobile home loans also tend to come with higher interest rates and shorter terms than traditional mortgages, which can increase monthly costs and reduce the potential for building meaningful wealth over time.

A Growing Mobile Home Debate

Ramsey's warning about mobile home investments sparked debate in the TikTok comment section, with many viewers pushing back and sharing anecdotes from their own lives.

One commenter described buying a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 1,200-square-foot mobile home on five acres with a new well, septic system, and electrical setup for under $200,000 total, calling it cheaper than nearby condos and apartments. A North Carolina real estate agent offered a different perspective, noting that for many families, a mobile home isn't an investment decision but simply a place to live, and that owning something beats owning nothing in a market that has priced many people out.

How to Get the Most Value From a Mobile Home

Photo by Eileen Groome on Getty Images

  • Own the land: Owning the land beneath your mobile home can significantly improve long-term value by allowing you to benefit from land appreciation and better financing options.
  • Maintenance and upgrades: Regular maintenance and targeted upgrades—especially to roofing, insulation, and energy efficiency—can help preserve resale value and make the home more competitive in the market.
  • Legal classification: Understanding whether your mobile home is classified as personal property or real estate is crucial, as it directly affects financing, taxes, and long-term equity potential.
  • Plan an exit strategy: Planning your exit strategy early helps you account for resale demand, park rules, and potential relocation costs, which can significantly impact returns.
The Bigger Question for Retirees

At the center of the debate is a simple tradeoff: Is the priority lower monthly costs today—or stronger long-term value over time?

For many retirees, mobile homes can offer an immediate affordability solution. But Ramsey warns that without careful planning, they may not provide the wealth-building characteristics people assume. And as housing affordability becomes more strained, that decision is becoming more common—and more consequential.

West Wilson Won't Return for 'Summer House' Season 11, Report Claims

Mon, 06/15/2026 - 1:31pm

West Wilson's time in the Hamptons may be coming to an end.

According to a new report from TMZ, the Summer House star will not return for season 11 of the Bravo reality series.

The reported exit follows a turbulent end to season 10 after Wilson and AmandaBatula revealed their romantic relationship in March, much to the dismay of Batula’s ex-husband, Kyle Cooke, and former friend Ciara Miller, who previously dated Wilson in 2023.

Cooke and Miller previously considered Batula and Wilson among their closest friends, respectively. The conclusion of season 10 has centered on the cast grappling with the couple's relationship, which many viewed as a betrayal, and the subsequent fallout as their relationship timeline was called into question.

Sources connected to the series told the outlet that West was not picked up for the next season of Summer House and will not be there when filming starts over the July 4th weekend.

However, the insiders note that the door isn't completely closed, and it's possible the sports journalist could come in for a cameo at some point.

Wilson first joined the cast for season 8 which filmed in summer 2023, and his relationship with Miller has been one of his main storylines on the show.

The last episode of season 10, Summer House: The Aftermath, will feature one-on-one conversations—including one between Wilson and Cooke—recorded after the explosive three-part reunion and will air on June 16 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.

Fans Are Split on What It Actually Tastes Like

As with many limited-edition products, reactions have been mixed.

Some fans say Purple Cotton Candy tastes more like grape soda or a grape-flavored candy than traditional cotton candy. Comparisons to grape Fanta, Grape Jolly Ranchers and even Grape Pixie Sticks are common online. Many say they love the taste and are already planning to buy more.

Others are less convinced. Some fans expected a stronger cotton candy flavor and say the drink doesn't deliver enough of those classic carnival vibes. A few people have even compared the grape flavor to childhood medicines, though opinions vary widely.

The divide hasn't stopped shoppers from seeking it out. Alani Nu has built a loyal fan base by releasing bold flavors that stand out from traditional energy drinks, and Purple Cotton Candy is no exception.

Whether you end up tasting cotton candy, grape soda or a little bit of both, one thing is clear: this nostalgic new flavor has people talking, and shoppers are scooping it up while they still can.

Here’s Exactly What Happens to Your Brain Health When You Eat Bananas

Mon, 06/15/2026 - 1:25pm

If supporting your brain is one of your health goals, you likely already know that minimizing foods high in sugar is one of the best dietary habits you can have.

Sure, having a delicious scone or bowl of ice cream is completely fine every once in a while, but consistently eating sugary foods is linked with causing neuroinflammation, which can increase the risk of neurodegenerative conditions such as dementia and Parkinson’s

The brain-healthy way to satisfy your sweet tooth? Fruit—also known as nature’s candy. While fruit does contain sugar, it doesn’t cause inflammation the way that foods with added sugar do because it’s paired with other nutrients, like fiber, that prevent it from spiking blood sugar. Fruit is also packed with antioxidants, which actively block inflammatory pathways.

Related: Scientists Reveal the Daily Step Count That May Delay Alzheimer's by 7 Years

In fact, fruit fits within the MIND diet (Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay), an eating plan that was created specifically to lower the risk of dementia. The MIND diet has been scientifically shown to slow cognitive decline and reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s.

While the MIND diet emphasizes eating fruits that are particularly high in antioxidants, like berries, there is less guidance around how one of the most popular fruits, bananas, fits in. You may already know that eating bananas regularly supports digestion, heart health and weight loss, but how does it specifically impact the brain? Keep reading to find out.

Are Bananas Good for Your Brain?

Even though bananas are not specifically called out as a MIND diet recommendation, both of the experts we talked to said that several nutrients in bananas make them a brain-healthy food.

One is fiber. “While most of us know that fiber helps with digestion and keeping our GI tract healthy, most don’t realize it also helps keep our brain healthy,” says Laura M. Ali, MS, RDN, a culinary nutritionist, registered dietitian and author of MIND Diet for Two. Ali explains that the gut and brain are connected through the gut-brain axis. “This communication system between our GI tract and brain helps regulate our mood, memory and focus,” she explains. With this in mind, rest assured that any food you eat that’s good for the gut (like bananas) is also good for your brain.

Maggie Moon, RD, a registered dietitian and best-selling author of The MIND Diet: 2nd Edition, says that bananas that are slightly underripe are especially good for brain health because they are high in prebiotics that reduce free radical formation in neurons, lower brain inflammation and enhance cognitive function.

Related: 23 Ways to Boost Your Brain and Keep Your Memory Sharp at Any Age

But it’s not just the fiber in bananas that’s beneficial for the brain. Both experts say that the fruit is high in antioxidants, which help lower inflammation (including neuroinflammation) by protecting the brain and body from oxidative stress, which is a likely cause of cognitive decline and dementia.

“Bananas are rich in vitamin C and contain carotenoids, the compound that gives the banana its yellow hue, which reduces oxidation and inflammation in the brain. These antioxidants protect our brain cells from damage. Antioxidants are like putting a protective coating over our brain cells, similar to how a coat of paint protects an iron railing from rust,” Ali tells Parade.

Two other nutrients in bananas that support brain health are vitamin B and magnesium. Ali explains that B vitamins provide energy to the brain and help support neurotransmitters, which are the messengers that carry signals from our brain to other parts of our body.

Moon adds, “Bananas are high in vitamin B6, which we need to make neurotransmitters that regulate mood, memory and cognitive function. It also partners with folate and vitamin B12 to lower levels of the toxic amino acid homocysteine.”

As for magnesium, Ali says this nutrient works with potassium (which bananas are also a good source of) to reduce inflammation in the brain.

What Happens to Your Brain When You Eat Bananas

Clearly, bananas are full of nutrients that support brain health. But what exactly happens to your brain when you eat them regularly?

Even though bananas support brain health, incorporating them into your diet won’t lead to a noticeable difference in your ability to concentrate, mood or cognition.

But even though you likely won’t feel any different, rest assured that the nutrients in bananas are working in the background to lower inflammation in your brain, which in turn will reduce your risk of dementia and other neurodegenerative disorders. Skeptical? A 2022 scientific review published in Food found that the bioactive compounds in bananas and plantains (a tropical fruit in the same family as bananas) have been shown to lower inflammation in the brain in several different animal studies. The researchers say that the compounds in bananas lower oxidative stress, prevent cell death and help regulate brain signaling pathways.

Another study, published in Alzheimer’s & Dementia, found that the prebiotics in bananas lowered brain inflammation in rats, another promising study. (This is why Moon recommends eating slightly underripe bananas; they are higher in prebiotics than ripe bananas.)

Both dietitians emphasize that more robust, human studies need to be done to show more explicitly how bananas impact the brain, but the studies that do exist are promising. “It’s not the first food I’d pick for brain health, but when it comes to fruits and vegetables, the more the merrier,” Moon says, adding that incorporating bananas into your diet for brain health is low-risk, so why not give it a try?

Bananas may not be as high in antioxidants as berries (the MIND diet’s hero fruit), but they still contain many nutrients that lower neuroinflammation. Having one as part of your breakfast sounds like a no-brainer!

'Game of Thrones' Star Emilia Clarke Reveals She Was 'So Pissed' Over Series' Controversial Ending: 'I Was Absolutely Livid'

Mon, 06/15/2026 - 12:46pm

It's been roughly seven years sinceGame of Thrones came to its final conclusion, and to this day fans continue to criticize the show's polarizing ending.

While most viewers have expressed mixed feelings about the way show's bittersweet finale, some of the show's main stars have also occasionally chimed, voicing their own frustrations with the direction of their respective characters.

In a recent interview with Variety, one of Game of Thrones' foremost stars, Emilia Clarke, specifically mentioned that she was "absolutely livid" when her character was shockingly killed by her on-screen lover in the show's final episode.

In her conversation with Variety, Clarke tried to guess the origins of some of her past lines, leading her to recall her parting words to Kit Harington's Jon Snow just before her death.

"'We break the wheel together.' Kit Harington, also known as Jon Snow," the 39-year-old actress said. "That is the last thing I say before the sneaky little sh*t stabs me. F**king outrageous. I was so pissed," she continued with a laugh. "I was absolutely livid."

Recalling her initial thoughts on her character's progression in the show, Clarke said that her first glimpse into Daenerys' tragic fate was reading the entirety of each script for season 8 of the show.

"That last season, I read them all. I just landed from a holiday and I turned my phone on, it went 'Bing!'" Clarke said. "I went home, sat down, did what I always do which is I'll read them all the way through and found myself walking out of the house in a daze, like forgot my keys, forgot my phone, forgot everything, and just like walked for hours just to assimilate what it was I had to do that season. It was kind of super, super intense."

"Outside of the controversy around her actions, him killing me really bummed me out," Clarke continued, referencing her death. "Kind of rude. I gave that man everything, I burned cities to the ground for him, for us, so we can do this. I'm over it, clearly," she humorously went on to add. "So over it, it's unreal."

I'm a Retirement Coach—These Are the 4 Things I Wish Every New Retiree Knew Before They Called it 'Quits'

Mon, 06/15/2026 - 12:43pm

When it comes to retirement, many people think that getting your financials in order is the most important part of preparing. However, your money is only part of the equation when stepping away from the workforce. According to a 2026 Employee Benefit Research Institute report and Greenwald Retirement Confidence Survey, 58 percent of people said they were confident about the financial aspects of retiring.

But what about the emotional aspect of retirement? According to one retirement coach we spoke with, you should be doing more than just budgeting for your future before you retire, and you should start working on this part of your retirement plan as you save.

Why Retirement Is One of Life's Biggest Transitions

Jhanell Biggs, Founder and CEO of Moro, which focuses on the "human side" of retirement transitions, says that people often overlook this side of the process, noting that she works specifically with people on the day-to-day behavioral and lifestyle shifts that happen when professionals leave careers that have become deeply intertwined with their identities.

She says that this transition is a major one, and compares it to some of the life-altering milestones that people traditionally go through, which Biggs says include big moments like heading off to college, starting your first job, moving out on your own, getting married, or having children.

"These milestones are woven into the fabric of our lives, with extensive tools and resources at our fingertips," she says. "Retirement, particularly the human and non-financial side, lacks that same level of preparation and readiness." As such, Biggs says we owe it to ourselves to plan for more than just budgetary concerns.

"I wish more people understood that retirement is not just a financial finish line," Biggs says, calling it a lifestyle "starting line" instead. "Clients spend decades working and saving for retirement while paying little to no attention to how they will actually spend their time once work is no longer part of their daily routine."

"Yes, golfing and traveling the world sounds ideal, but if you have 10 or 20 years after retiring, it's important to have interests and side quests that keep you moving, learning, and mentally engaged," she continues, adding that sometimes retirement can mean ending your "formal" career in favor of an "encore" career. "This could be a part-time role, a passion project, or a second act that allows people to keep earning while staying purposeful on their own terms."

4 Things You Should Do Before You Call It Quits

Biggs says that there are a few steps you can take to give yourself the best retirement outcomes, which include things like:

  • Build a sense of community outside of your job. "For most people, work provides daily socialization, whether passive or active," she says, noting that those connections naturally fade after retirement. Before you clock out for the last time, Biggs says you should ensure that you've created a community that exists outside your job.
  • Find neighborhood "anchors" to stay connected. Biggs says that it's important to make sure you've found a way to nurture the different parts of your life with anchors within your own community. "An intellectual anchor like a bookstore or museum, a physical anchor like a park or yoga studio, and a social anchor like a café or volunteer organization," she says. "These spaces create opportunities for meaningful, organic connections."
  • Create an additional part of your identity that doesn't have anything to do with your job. "High achievers and those who have built their entire identity around their professional role often struggle the most with retirement, regardless of gender," she says. "When work has defined who you are for decades, stepping away can create an unexpected identity vacuum." It's important to find things that define you beyond your nine-to-five, like volunteering or a specific hobby you can continue into retirement.
  • Have a care plan if you live alone. "Identify a trusted friend or family member to serve as a healthcare proxy, and connect with a geriatric care manager who can advocate for you as your health needs change over time," she adds.

The Sooner You Start, the Better Off You'll Be

As for when you start, Biggs says there's no better time than the present, especially if you can train yourself to think of retirement as more of a bridge to the next chapter of your life instead of as a closing door.

"I wholeheartedly stress the 'reset' mindset, which encourages people to shift their thinking from retiring to something to retiring with something," she says, noting that this process can start years or even decades before you actually exit the workforce. "People should continuously design and evolve their lives over time," she continues. "Don't wait until retirement to start exercising or learning a new language. Retirement should be considered an always-on practice."

Not only that, but Biggs says that planning ahead can lead to better retirement outcomes. "Being just as deliberate about the human side of retirement as the financial side is essential," she continues. "The transition itself can be overwhelming, and having a clear vision and a flexible plan creates a smoother path toward a happier, more energized post-work life."

Jason and Travis Kelce Say USA Soccer Fans Need a Better Chant

Mon, 06/15/2026 - 12:42pm

Jason KelceandTravis Kelce think USA soccer fans can do better.

In a recent New Heights clip shared on Instagram, the brothers discussed what American fans chant at soccer games and why one familiar phrase does not exactly get them fired up. With the World Cup underway and the Kelces taking their podcast to Los Angeles for a live show tied to the tournament, the timing was fitting.

Jason had a very clear complaint: American soccer chants may be a little too polite.

Jason Kelce Called One USA Soccer Chant "Weird" View this post on Instagram

Jason brought up the well-known chant "I believe that we can win," saying he remembered hearing it while watching soccer as an American fan.

"That is the most loser mentality chant I have ever heard in my life," Jason said in the clip.

He added that he has participated in the chant before, but said it made him feel "like a complete loser" to say it.

"It's just a weird chant," Jason added.

The Brothers Think USA Fans Need More Edge

Jason compared the energy of American soccer fans to what he remembered from Brazilian fans, saying he felt other countries had more exciting chants.

He also noted that "USA, USA" still works.

"Obviously, we got USA, USA, which is like just an epic, awesome chant," Jason said.

Still, he said he thinks American fans have more to work with than the "I believe" chant. In his view, the mentality needs to be more direct and less hopeful.

"We're too nice," Travis said.

The brothers then started playing a new version of the chant with more bite.

Jason suggested that instead of saying "I believe that we can win," fans should say something much more confident.

The version they landed on probably won't show up on a family-friendly stadium screen anytime soon, but it was definitely more confident.

The Clip Comes Before 'New Heights Live' in Los Angeles

The chant conversation also arrives as Jason and Travis are bringing New Heights to Los Angeles for a live event.

New Heights Live in LA is scheduled for Monday, June 15, at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. The event is tied to the World Cup and is expected to include surprise celebrity guests, interactive fan opportunities and a Team USA celebration.

According to a press release shared by Wondery, the recorded episode will be available June 17 on YouTube, Prime Video and podcast platforms.

The Kelces are clearly leaning into soccer and Team USA energy as the World Cup takes over the sports conversation.

Carl Radke Suffered Injury Ahead of Summer House Season 10 Reunion That Nearly Sent Him to the Hospital

Mon, 06/15/2026 - 12:36pm

Carl Radke really is a mess!

Radke certainly did not hold back during the highly anticipated Summer House three-part reunion, but the Bravo star almost didn't make it as he nearly ended up in the hospital the same morning that they filmed.

"I'm not going to lie, I bit my tongue by accident this morning in my apartment," Radke told BravoTV.com on April 23. "And I almost was this close to going to the hospital because apparently it's flapped and it's not great."

However, he made it clear that his injury wouldn't prevent him from speaking.

"I'm not going to bite my tongue today. That's for sure. I already got it out of the way," Radke added. "So I'm anxious. I'm nervous. I'm glad some of the boys are here. The good ones. And just looking forward to try and clear the air and making progress, but I hope there's truth and I hope people can take accountability and apologize."

While the Season 10 reunion looked back on some moments from the prior season, the biggest focus was on the new relationship between West Wilson and Amanda Batula. This made headlines as Wilson was best friends with Batula's ex-husband, Kyle Cooke, and also was in a prior relationship with her best friend, Ciara Miller.

Radke was among many of the other cast members who were very emotional during the taping, but someone who didn't show as much emotion was Wilson, who was called out by Andy Cohen for his behavior.

“No offense, are you on like, a bunch of beta blockers or what? Everybody’s so emotional around you about you and your relationship, and you’re like this," Cohen asked.

"I took a beta blocker. I don’t know if that’s why I’m not sobbing in this moment. This matters to me. I apologize if I don’t read emotional enough,” Wilson replied.

The third and final part of the reunion is out, but the popular show will have one final episode, Summer House: The Aftermath, which will feature one-on-one conversations recorded after the reunion. It will air on Tuesday, June 16 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.

Svelte Russell Crowe, 62, Holds Hands With Girlfriend Britney Theriot, 42, on the Red Carpet

Mon, 06/15/2026 - 12:35pm

Russell Crowe and his girlfriend, Britney Theriot, look happier than ever on the red carpet.

The Nuremberg star and Oscar winner, 62, who dropped 50 pounds last year, hit the red carpet at the Taormina Film Festival with Theriot, 42. While Crowe showed off his flowing locks and bushy white beard, Theriot looked absolutely stunning in a navy plunging gown. With her blonde hair in soft waves cascading behind her, Theriot was the picture of glamour in the red carpet moment.

Will Russell Crowe Get Married Again?

While Crowe and Theriot are very happy together, the actor said in a recent interview with Australia’s 60 Minutes that despite the rumors of their engagement, he has no intention of getting married again.

“We are very, very good friends, and we have a wonderful relationship. My life is so joyous and happy at the moment — why ruin that with a wedding?” said Crowe.

Crowe added that his previous marriage to Danielle Spencer, from whom he split in 2018, was enough.

“I know how it can go and where it can go. So I don’t need to go to that place,” he said.

He and Theriot do “everything together,” and shared “We’re very happy, man. It’s a very positive life.”

How Did Russell Crowe Lose 50 Pounds?

Back in 2024, Crowe weighed about 50 pounds more. In November, he made an appearance on the popularJoe Rogan Experience podcast and revealed how he managed to drop the extra pounds.

“I was 126 kilos when I finished Nuremberg,” Crowe told Rogan about his role as Hermann Göring in the 2025 film. “I’m 100.9 now.”

Crowe explained that in addition to focusing on diet and exercise, he credits much of his weight loss to Rogan introducing him to a platform called Ways2Well. According to its website, Ways2Well is a healthcare platform that combines everything from bloodwork and hormone optimization to stem cell therapy and peptide therapy.

“I’m not really across the science, but the real benefit I’m getting from these into my shoulders, my knees, and also IVs, is that it’s calmed down my body’s inflammation,” Crowe said, adding that he has years of sports injuries and arthritis.

Rom-Com Queen, Who Won an Academy Award, Turns 63

Mon, 06/15/2026 - 12:30pm

Helen Hunt is celebrating a milestone birthday today as she turns 63.

Born June 15, 1963, the California-born actress carved out a career that helped define romanticcomedies of the late 1990s.

Hunt first rose to fame through television before becoming one of the most recognizable faces of ’90s Hollywood.

Her breakout success came in Mad About You, where she portrayed newlywed Jamie Buchman opposite on-screen husband Paul Reiser. Audiences were drawn to their pitch-perfect chemistry, and the series ran for seven seasons, establishing her as a major comedic talent.

She earned three Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress, along with four Primetime Emmy Awards for Lead Actress. By the final season, she was paid $1 million per episode of the NBCsitcom, going down in television history as the first female actor to reach that per-episode milestone.

Her film career reached new heights, cementing her as a leading star with her role in As Good as It Gets, opposite Jack Nicholson. It was a critical and box office hit, grossing $314.1 million worldwide. In the role of a single mother, she balanced humor and emotional depth, which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress.

Throughout the ‘90s and early 2000s, she became closely associated with the romantic comedy genre, including her role as Dr. Jo Harding in Twister, where she worked with her estranged husband Bill (played by Bill Paxton), to gather data on a tornado using a ground-breaking device named Dorothy. The action-diaster film, with romantic elements, became the second-highest-grossing film of 1998.

Starring in What Women Want opposite Mel Gibson, further reinforced her reputation as a rom-com queen of the era, as one fan noted on Reddit, “The movie is great, I personally love it, one of the finest romantic comedies from the early 2000s.”

She also appeared in the survival drama, Cast Away, as the long-term girlfriend of Tom Hanks’ character.

In 2017, she made her directorial film debut with Then She Found Me.

While she has continued to work steadily in film and television, most recently appearing in Hacks and In Cold Light, Hunt’s legacy remains most strongly tied to her peak years as a romantic comedy icon and Oscar-winning performer, bridging mainstream comedy with critically acclaimed dramas.

And as birthday wishes pour in from fans all over the world, one fan expressed, “Helen sure is maturing like fine wine!”

Happy birthday, Helen Hunt.

NBC Exec Expresses Regret Over Comedy Cancellation With 96% Rotten Tomatoes Score

Mon, 06/15/2026 - 12:26pm

The 2025–2026 TV season wasn’t great for NBC shows, but there was only one comedy canceled out of the lot. After just one season, Stumble was canceled, and NBCUniversal’s President of Program Planning Strategy, Jeff Bader, has expressed his regret over that decision.

Stumble brought something new and refreshing to the mockumentary style. It got rid of many of the tropes, such as treating the husbands of successful lead women as dumb and making the main cheerleader a hurtful bully for laughs, and added wholesome entertainment. Many loved it, with it landing an 82% score from critics and a 96% score from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Jeff Bader Admits Scheduling Was the Problem

When talking with Deadline, Bader expressed his regret over the cancellation, sharing that he feels “terrible about it.” He also admitted that the scheduling of the show was part of the problem, making it clear that “Obviously, there is an issue with a single-cam coming out of the multi-cam, just tonally, it was different than Happy’s Place.”

The Reba McEntire comedy kicked off Friday nights with a bang, but Stumble struggled to keep up. Not only were the two different styles of comedy in terms of filming, but they also brought different energies through the storytelling. Happy’s Place is a traditional multi-cam comedy, while Stumble was a mockumentary style more suited to following new episodes of St. Denis Medical.

Bader went on to indicate that the network is going to learn from the scheduling experience. This is also something NBC has admitted is a problem on Thursdays following new episodes of Law & Order: SVU after The Hunting Party’s recent cancellation.

Making Room for More Sports on NBC

The cancellation came with the disappointing news that NBC is stepping even further away from scripted content. Not only will Tuesdays remain all about basketball, but Sundays will be a sports night throughout the year. After Sunday Night Football comes to an end, it will become Sunday Night Basketball and then Sunday Night Baseball.

It creates less space for new scripted content, leading to a shocking 11 cancellations on NBC in the 2025–2026 TV season. Bader admitted that this was part of the reason for the cancellation of Stumble, saying, “We had to actually give up on some shows that we really love to make room to launch our future potential hits.”

Kate Middleton Makes Elegant Garter Day Appearance in Her Diamond Wedding Earring

Mon, 06/15/2026 - 12:06pm

Today marked Kate Middleton's tenth appearance at the royal family's annual Garter Day ceremony—and she wore her wedding earrings!

The Prince and Princess of Wales were all smiles as they rode in a horse-drawn carriage through Windsor, evoking memories of the procession following their wedding ceremony in 2011.

Kate looked picture perfect in a pale gold coatdress, with the diamond and pearl earrings that she wore fifteen years ago as a royal bride sparkling below her hat's brim.

View this post on Instagram

But did you know that her wedding earrings have a special family meaning?

They were commissioned especially for Kate by her parents Carole and Michael Middleton and served as her 'something new' in her iconic bridal look.

Related: This Is What Princess Charlotte’s New Title Will Be When Prince William Becomes King

The Middletons worked with London jeweler Robinson Pelham to create the earrings' oak leaf design, with a diamond-set acorns suspended at their hearts.

The symbols of oak leaf and acorn were drawn from the coat of arms that Queen Elizabeth granted to Michael Middleton a few months before his daughter's marriage to Prince William.

The oak leaf was chosen to represent the area in Berkshire where the Middletons have their home of Bucklebury Manor, a Grade II-listed Georgian property, which is home to many ancient oak trees.

The three acorns in the coat of arms symbolize Carole and Michael's three children, Kate, Pippa, and James.

The incorporation of these symbols into Kate's wedding look was a sweet reminder of her family and the leafy part of the UK where she grew up, never imagining that she would one day be a princess and future queen.

The design of the oak leaves was modelled on the scrolls of the Cartier Halo Tiara that held Kate's wedding veil in place.

We love that Kate still wears her wedding earrings on occasion, and we love the outfit by Patrick McDowell that she paired them with today. Hat season is well and truly in session—this is the third time in the last fortnight that we've seen the Princess of Wales beaming from below a broad-brimmed hat.

The last time was only two days ago, when she wore a saucer-style hat and a baby blue coat dress to King Charles III's birthday parade.

Related: Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte’s Twinning Moment Included a Hidden Tribute to Princess Diana

Kate also stepped out in a big hat, plus buttercream tweed dress, for the recent wedding of Queen Elizabeth II's grandson Peter Phillips.

Today the royals were out in force for the 2026 Order of the Garter service, which was held in Windsor Castle.

The Order of the Garter is the oldest and most senior order of chivalry in the UK, and is modelled after the Knights of the Round Table. 24 membership places are reserved for the monarch, the Prince of Wales, and 24 companions who can be knights or ladies.

Members of the royal family who are members include King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Anne.

This was Kate Middleton's tenth time attending Garter Day, but did you know?

When Kate made her first ever appearance at the Order of the Garter's annual celebrations she was still Prince William's girlfriend.

Kate and William were still two years away from getting engaged when they stepped out with the rest of the royals on Garter Day in 2008, the year that William was appointed to the Order of the Garter by his grandmother the queen.

Anna Faris Reveals Jealousy of Sexy Star in 'Scary Movie'

Mon, 06/15/2026 - 11:48am

Anna Faris became a star through the Scary Movie franchise. The character Cindy Campbell has made people laugh since 2000 for her line deliveries and facial expressions.

But Faris, 49, revealed there was a sexy role that made her jealous. Director Keenan Ivory Wayans noticed and gave her advice.

Anna Faris Was Jealous of Shannon Elizabeth in 'Scary Movie'

Shannon Elizabeth played Buffy Gilmore in the first movie, who was a pageant queen. She had comedic moments while wearing cute outfits. Faris noticed her character was portrayed differently.

"I remember Keenen saw me and must have conveyed envy toward Shannon Elizabeth getting to look so beautiful and sexy, and I just fundamentally did not feel that I should be watched, as a person," Faris told Variety. "I was a 'back of the class' kinda kid. And Keenen told me, 'There’s no vanity in comedy.'"

Elizabeth didn't return to the franchise while Faris became the face of it. However, her partnership with the director wasn't smooth. The franchise was taken away from him and he asked Faris not to do the sequels despite her being locked into a three-movie deal.

"It was such a devastating moment in the sense that I admired Keenen so much, and he was asking me to do something, but I was under contract," the actress explained. "He said, 'All they can do is sue you!' and I’m thinking, 'I’m living in a one-bedroom apartment by the farmer’s market!'"

Faris later didn't star in Scary Movie 5. The director and other familiar stars have returned for the 2026 movie. Regina Hall, Lochlyn Munro, Carmen Electra, and Dave Sheridan from the first movie are also back to spoof newer films like Ma, Sinners, Get Out, and more.

Scary Movie is now available in theaters.
