What appeared to be a fire in a LifeCare Center senior citizen bus on Thursday at 11 a.m. turned out to be a busted radiator hose; but to employees of the Sullivan Sonic, 565 W. Springfield Rd., and the driver and passengers on the bus, it could have been worse.

Sullivan police are investigating the vandalism of more than eight mailboxes late Saturday night, Jan. 23, or early Sunday morning, Jan. 24.
Sullivan police chief, George R. Counts, reported that officers were called to the area of 1041 Elmont Rd. for a report of property damage to a mailbox at 7:42 a.m. on Sunday morning.

A Franklin County man received burns to his torso and legs on Friday in a methamphetamine explosion in a Franklin County home.
According to Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke, the incident occurred at 5:45 a.m. when the communications department received a call of a peace disturbance at 1262 Highway AT, Villa Ridge. WASHINGTON — Sullivan lost to Eureka 58-27 earlier today in a semifinal of the St. Francis Borgia Tournament.
Eureka is the No. 1 seed in the tournament and played like it. The Lady Wildcats surged ahead late in the second quarter and continued pounding Sullivan in the second half.

Sullivan Upsets Washington in Borgia Tourney

WASHINGTON — Sullivan upset fourth-seeded Washington 48-39 earlier tonight, moving on to the semifinals.
The Lady Eagles will face the No. 1 seed Eureka at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow night. Eureka defeated E.H. Lyle in the first round on Monday night.
