Saturday’s doubleheader finale between Sullivan and St. Peters saw three enormous momentum swings with a final that looked more football than baseball.
Carson Shultz tossed a three-hit shutout Saturday, helping St. Peters defeat Sullivan 18U 3-0 at “Sunny” Jim Bottomley Field.
Sullivan and Eureka traded big innings Saturday, but a six-run outburst in the third inning put the former Post 18 in firm control.
Sullivan fell to Washington for the second time this season, losing 8-0 on Thursday in the Washington Tournament.
Sullivan 18U swept Rhineland in a doublehader June 8, winning 3-1 and 2-1.
