Walmart’s $40 100% Cotton Sheets Have 'Excellent Breathability,' and They Come in 6 Colors
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
If you’re looking to refresh your bedding, you don’t have to spend a fortune to make your bed feel like you're sleeping at a five-star hotel. Walmart currently has a flash deal with a massive discount on a high-thread-count 100% cotton sheet set that shoppers have raved is an "impressive" bedding upgrade.
Normally $90, the Sonoro Kate 100% Cotton Queen Sheet Set is on sale for up to 56% off right now. The best deal is on the dark gray color for $40, though the most you'll pay for any color in the queen size is $50, which is still a significant discount. These sheets also come in white, black, gray, gray-blue, and navy blue, and are on sale in sizes from full to California King at various price points.
Sonoro Kate 100% Cotton Queen Sheet Set, From $40 (was $90) at Walmart Shop at WalmartMade of 100% cotton, these 1,000-thread-count sheets have a luxurious, hotel-like feel. Each set comes with two pillowcases, one flat sheet, and one fitted sheet with deep pockets that fit mattresses up to 16 inches deep. They're also Oeko-tex certified, meaning no harsh chemicals were used in the manufacturing process.
I purchased these sheets about six months ago for my kids, and we've had a fantastic experience with them. My youngest has eczema, so finding sheets that won't irritate his sensitive skin is a priority. Another feature I look for in bedding is breathability because my older son sleeps hot. Sheets made of 100% cotton check both these boxes while being easy to care for — a must when middle-schoolers are doing the laundry.
Much like cotton clothing, these sheets get softer each time they're washed and dried. Though my kids have these sheets in white, shoppers who have purchased the darker colors said they have not experienced any bleeding or fading after washing.
These "very soft and comfortable" sheets offer "excellent breathability," which shoppers said is particularly helpful for hot sleepers and those who experience night sweats. One reviewer who purchased multiple sets said they are a "comfy and stylish" choice.
Describing their value, one shopper said, "They are comparable to sheet sets costing considerably more." My own sheets cost about double the original price of this set, and I can attest that the difference between these sheets that my children sleep on and the ones I use is minimal.

Ella Langley Drops All-Star 'Choosin’ Texas' Video With Hidden Easter Eggs
Not only did country singer Ella Langley, 26, just drop her new "Choosin’ Texas" music video with a celebrity-packed, all-star lineup, but she also dropped what appears to be at least one Easter egg clue (or more) for what might be coming next. Time to do some detective work, people.
Ahead of her second album Dandelion, which comes out in April, fans get to enjoy a fantastic music video for Langley's hit single "Choosin' Texas," which has spent four consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The music video feels like a short film and boasts a star-studded cast, including actor and singer/songwriter Luke Grimes (Yellowstone), actress Ava Phillippe (daughter to Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe), singer/songwriter Kaitlin Butts, and country star Miranda Lambert (also, a co-writer on the song).
In the opening scene, Langley's character and her love interest, played by Grimes, arrive in his hometown of Abilene, Texas. The couple pops into a little bar in his old "stompin' grounds," where, of course, there sits the Grimes character's former love interest (played by Phillippe). And just like that, there'a little love triangle trouble brewing in Texas.
Related: Country Singer HARDY's 1-Year-Old Steals the Show Backstage During Tour Sound Check
You can tune in below to watch how the rest of the heartbreaker story goes, but pay close attention at the end of the video. There's one if not more little Easter Eggs that Langley seems to be dropping for fans (it wouldn't be the first time):
- The Tennessee license plate that reads: ICLYA
- The quick clip of an apparent new song with lyrics: "And I think we both know it's last call for us. Last call for us. It's last call for us..."
Watch the full Ella Langley "Choosin’ Texas" music video:
Any guesses on what "ICLYA" could stand for? Could it stand for "I Can't Love You Anymore"? Is that a reference to a new song? And what about those soft, sweet lyrics we hear at the end of the video? Also a new song? And hey, what about the song they're listening to on the ride into Abilene at the beginning? Is this three new songs? What else are we missing?
Hmm, it does appear there's already live but blank (for now) Ella Langley YouTube page titled "Last Call for Us." Says: "Video unavailable," but something must be coming. Very mysterious ...
The Ella Langley album Dandelion (with 18 tracks, including "Choosin' Texas") comes out April 10, 2026. It is available for pre-order now.
63 Years Ago Today, This Classic Soap Opera Debuted on NBC
The Doctors introduced a complex world of medical caregivers and emotionally driven storylines long before hospital dramas became mainstream.
Sixty-three years ago, NBC debuted the award-winning soap opera, which ran for almost 20 years.
With its tagline “a daytime drama series dedicated to the brotherhood of healing,” the 1963 soap opera was set in the fictional Hope Memorial Hospital in Madison. Viewers got to see how the professional and personal lives of doctors, nurses and staff often overlapped in moments of both crisis and compassion.
The soap opera not only brought a different kind of TV show to the public but also featured a roster of future Hollywood stars, led by James Pritchett, who was known for his iconic role as Dr. Matt Powers, Chief of Staff at Hope Memorial Hospital.

Joining him as a lead star was Lydia Bruce, who played Dr. Maggie Powers, the wife of Matt Powers. The character was portrayed by multiple actors throughout its nearly two-decade run, including Ann Williams and Bethel Leslie.
Also part of the cast was David O'Brien as Dr. Steve Aldrich, along with Elizabeth Hubbard, who was briefly replaced by Virginia Vestoff for the role of the career-driven doctor Althea Davis.
Apart from the star-studded cast, the soap opera also launched the career of then-rising actor Alec Baldwin, marking his first major acting role. Baldwin played the character of Billy Aldrich for three seasons until the series concluded in 1982.
The Doctors Makes Daytime TV HistoryFollowing its debut, The Doctors received positive feedback from the public, making it a highly decorated program at the time.
View this post on InstagramIn addition, it earned numerous accolades from various award-giving bodies, including a historic milestone as one of the early winners of Outstanding Achievement in Daytime Drama or "Best Show" at the Daytime Emmy Awards in 1972.
The Doctors also won Outstanding Achievement in Daytime Drama at the 26th Primetime Emmy Awards two years later, proving its status as one of the standout TV shows at the time.
In addition, the cast also received individual recognitions, including James Pritchett’s win at the 1978 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series and Elizabeth Hubbard winning Best Actress in a Daytime Drama Series at the 1974 Daytime Emmy.
Unfortunately, The Doctors officially bid goodbye in 1982 after experiencing declining ratings toward the end of its run.
At the time, it also faced tight competition against ABC’s Family Feud and CBS’ The Young and the Restless.

‘Masked Singer’ Runner-Up Jokes He Tried to Get Eliminated Early (Exclusive)
Phillip Phillips may have finished as the runner-up on The Masked Singer as the lovable Pugcasso, but his approach to the competition was anything but typical.
The season 11 American Idol winner says he went into the show with zero pressure and, he joked with Parade, even tried to get himself eliminated early.
Related: ‘Masked Singer’ Winner Reveals What It Was Like Competing Against Her Husband (Exclusive)
Why He Said Yes to ‘The Masked Singer’Phillips admitted that timing—and family—played a big role in his decision to join another singing competition.
“They had asked me a couple years ago and it wasn't the right time,” he said. “And now… I didn't really have anything going on when they would start filming.”
But the biggest factor? His kids.
“My kid loves costumes. He loves, you know, Star Wars and Spider-Man and all of that stuff. I thought it might be cool for him to see dad in a costume," he said, adding, "We love Halloween, so… that was like it kind of ties into it a little bit.”

He Had No Pressure — and Kind of Wanted to Go HomeUnlike many contestants, Phillips said he never felt the pressure to win.
“There was like no pressure for me,” he said. “They're not gonna guess who I am unless the clues are just like super obvious.”
In fact, at one point, he joked that he tried to get eliminated. It was back in week 9, Care Bears night, when he took The Cranberries song "Dreams" and gave it a country spin. He thought for sure that was going to get him kicked off the show.
"Care Bears night was super bizarre," said Phillips with a laugh. "I didn't know anything, like why the heck am I doing Care Bears? And so then I wanted to change ['Dreams'] into bluegrass. I was like, this is definitely going to get me kicked off so I can go home faster to my family. And [the judges] said this is their favorite performance. I'm like, are you kidding me?! Now I gotta stay another week!"

The Judges Had No IdeaThroughout the season, Phillips said he wasn’t surprised that the panel struggled to identify him.
“I figured they wouldn't guess me,” he said. “Honestly, in the finale, I don't think they had a clue.”
He added that even after the reveal, it still took a moment for it to click.
“Even when I show my face… I'm sure they still didn't know me until I started playing the song.”
His Favorite Performance Might Surprise FansWhile many artists gravitate toward their most recognizable moments, Phillips said one unexpected performance stood out.
"I think mine was probably too much by the Spice Girls 'cause I didn't know any Spice Girls songs," said Phillips, adding that he picked out "Too Much," but told the music producer he wanted to really change up the arrangement and if he couldn't pull it off, they were going to have to send him home.
"You're gonna have to like write me off like I died, like the dog had to get put down or something," he joked, adding that they said he could do "Too Much" and he could rework it his way, so it all worked out in the end. In fact, he liked the arrangement so much that he wants to incorporate it into his concerts now.
"It came out really great and now I think I'm going to start playing it at my shows because I really, I really like how it turned out," said Phillips.
That creative freedom was a big part of why he enjoyed the experience.
“It was just no pressure… super easy… it was a cool experience.”

New Music and What’s NextPhillips is also using the momentum of the show to launch new music. His latest single, "Homesick," dropped the same day as the finale.
“This song's called 'Homesick' … it's just a real honest song about missing the people you love,” he said, adding that the meaning is deeply personal and that he wrote the song one day while his son was napping.
“That song's about missing the three people I love more than anything … my two kids and my wife," said the singer. Phillips married his wife Hannah Blackwell in 2015. They welcomed son Patch in November 2019 and daughter Isla in June 2025.

Still Grateful for ‘Home’More than a decade after winning American Idol, Phillips still holds the record for the most successful coronation single with "Home." And unlike some artists, he says he hasn’t grown tired of it.
“I actually don't [get tired of playing them],” he said of his hits "Home" and "Gone Gone Gone." “I wouldn't have the career that I have without those. I'll play them every day, any chance I get."
For Phillips, The Masked Singer wasn’t about winning—it was about having fun, trying something new and sharing the experience with his family.
Even if it meant accidentally making it all the way to the finale.
IKEA Is Selling 'Nifty Little' $2 Shoe Organizers That Shoppers Say Save So Much Space
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Small closets and crowded entryways are a constant struggle, especially if you've ever tried to squeeze one more pair of sneakers onto an already packed shelf. That's why shoppers are excited about a new space-saving home find at IKEA that promises to transform the way you store your shoes. It's affordable, practical and exactly the kind of clever solution the Swedish retailer is known for.
The buzzworthy item is the MURVEL shoe organizer, a compact, gray insert designed to help you store shoes vertically rather than side by side. At just $2, this IKEA organizer proves you don't need a full closet overhaul to make a big difference.
The idea behind this space-saving home find is simple but effective. Instead of placing your shoes flat on the shelf, the organizer lets you stack them one on top of the other. That means you can potentially double the number of pairs you fit in the same area. For apartment dwellers, dorm residents or anyone with limited storage, that extra capacity is a godsend.
MURVEL Shoe Organizer, $2 at IKEA Shop It!Shoppers say the IKEA organizer lives up to the hype. Reviewers describe it as a nifty little solution that saves a lot of space in closets and hallway storage areas. Many report doubling their shoe storage almost instantly. Others mention buying multiple units at once because the price is so low and the impact is so noticeable.
Related: IKEA Is Selling a $13 Kitchen Staple With a Modern Brutalist Edge
Another bonus? The MURVEL shoe organizer is made with more than 50 percent recycled plastic, making it a slightly more sustainable pick for eco-conscious shoppers. Designed by IKEA of Sweden, it blends seamlessly into minimalist closet systems and works just as well on open shelving as it does behind closed doors.
Because this organizer is so compact, you can use it beyond the bedroom closet. It works in entryway cabinets, mudrooms or even under a bench. Anywhere you tend to stack shoes into a messy pile could benefit from this tidy upgrade.
For $2, it's an easy decision to add to your cart. If your goal is to maximize every inch of storage without investing in bulky furniture, this IKEA space-saving home find might be the simplest fix yet. Sometimes the smartest solutions really are the smallest ones.

Who Got Voted Off 'Survivor 50' Tonight? Plus, the 'Blood Moon' Twist Explained
When the Survivor 50 players were told to "drop your buffs" once again this week, they — and we — were completely shocked. The next phase of the game began with an astounding 17 people, as old allies connected and new rivalries emerged. But they could barely get settled in before they faced the game's latest twist: The "Blood Moon." In an instant, the castaways were divided up into three groups again and all sent to Tribal Council, where they faced the prospect of their game sunsetting for good — and not making the jury.
Here's our spoiler-filled recap of tonight's episode of Survivor 50, including who went home.
Robert Voets/CBS
Kamilla KarthigesuBy the halfway point of Survivor 50, Kamilla Karthigesu had seemed to largely shake the huge reputation she had coming in. After all, the cast had just seen her wheel and deal as one of Season 48's biggest power players, and a very skilled liar. But, despite that, partially due to the tragic medevac of her former number one Kyle Fraser, Kamilla was able to lay low. In fact, she even grabbed a bit of power when she served as the key swing vote to boot Charlie Davis. One of the people she left in the dark, however, was Jonathan Young. And so, when he became the swing vote between old and new school, he was eager to get some revenge. And so, two days after crafting a blindside, Kamilla experienced one of her own, sent out in shock.
Genevieve Mushaluk on 'Survivor 50'Robert Voets/CBS
Genevieve MushalukGenevieve Mushaluk kicked off her second season of Survivor in the exact opposite style of her first. As someone who felt she had no connections by the end of her time on Season 47, she was quick to make early connections, even if her closest one had to leave the game within the first four days. The lawyer began to build her winning case not only with allies, but with idols, as she found not one, but twoBillie Eilish Boomerang Idols, building cross-tribal connections as well.
Unfortunately, there was one particular person who Genevieve could not connect with: Aubry Bracco. When Aubry told her she was scared of working with her, it put her on edge, and the two quickly turned into rivals. It didn't help that the two spent every single day of the game together, their tension continuing to simmer. Things finally boiled over once they had the chance to finally go to Tribal Council. The issue for Genevieve is, not only did she not have any allies in her corner, but Aubry had the only other idol that she didn't find. She tried everything to get out of the corner she was backed into, including playing her Shot in the Dark. But, alas, it was game over for Genevieve.
Robert Voets/CBS
Colby DonaldsonIt's astounding to think that Colby Donaldson spent half of his life on our screens. And it's that reverence and passion that brought the Season 2 fan-favorite back after 15 years away. Considering the unhappiness he had his last time out, Colby was eager to "find the joy" in Survivor 50. And we saw a moment emblematic of that in his arc with Rizo Velovic. While initially visibly annoyed by the "RizGod," he grew to respect him, seeing the 26-year-old version of himself that kicked off this entire experience back in 2001.
Something Colby could be grumpy about, however: Losing his vote. When Colby lost a duel to Savannah Louie, he had no idea it would make his game crumble like a set of precariously stacked blocks. Colby faced his first vote at the merge, but with no say in the matter. And, despite his foot injury, the others felt he had a leg to stand on strategically, the leader of an emerging old-school alliance. So they took out the old-school legend, but it wasn't without its fair share of tears. Indeed, the entire Tribal Council was simultaneously a celebration and a mourning, as the old-school players discussed both how much this show has meant to them for decades, and how they've inspired those who came after them.
Yes! Genevieve chose to play her Shot in the Dark, electing not to vote in exchange for a one-in-six shot at safety. Unfortunately, the shot did not hit, leaving her vulnerable to be voted out unanimously.

What is the "Blood Moon" twist on Survivor?During the first post-merge challenge, Jeff Probst narrated to the cast, "When we were putting together this season, we had one goal. We wanted to do our best to make it memorable. And in order for it to be memorable, it's got to be something rare. That's what makes it special." And the way to make it memorable? The "Blood Moon."
For the first time in Survivor history, three people were voted out on the same night. First, the players were told to scour the camp in search of a game-changing advantage. Ozzy Lusth found it, only to be told he would be making a return trip to Exile Island. He was tasked with bringing someone with him, choosing Rizo to further the newfound alliance with him and Cirie Fields. Though they were spending significant time away from the action, it also gave them safety from what happened next.
At the challenge, the 15 other players were divided up into three groups of five. The last person standing for each group in the endurance challenge won individual immunity. But all three groups would be going to Tribal Council, and all three groups would be voting someone out. Here's how the divisions broke down:

‘Masked Singer’ Winner Reveals What It Was Like Competing Against Her Husband (Exclusive)
Ashlee Simpson was finally unmasked as Galaxy Girlon The Masked Singer tonight during the season 14 finale—and one of the biggest surprises of the season wasn’t just her identity.
It was the fact that she and her husband, Evan Ross, were both competing at the same time but in completely separate costumes. Several married couples have appeared on past seasons, but they were always competing as a duo, not as solo contestants. Ross was unmasked as Stingray back in week 10.
In an interview with Parade after her win, Simpson opened up about how the unusual situation came together and what it was like going through the experience side by side… but also completely apart.
Related: Inside Evan Ross' Marriage to Ashlee Simpson
Competing Together — But Totally SeparateSimpson revealed that she and Ross were not cast as a pair, but instead approached individually by the show.
"They approached us separately and both of us were into this idea and we were both like, 'Let's do it!'" she said.
Because the show is something they watch as a family, the decision felt like an easy yes.
"I think like it was a show that we watch as a family and our kids love it… so it seemed like fun and we're not competitive, so it was like, OK, this sounds like fun."
Related: Jessica Simpson Looks Incredible in Surprise ‘Masked Singer’ Appearance
Why They Were Kept ApartDespite competing on the same season, Simpson said production went to great lengths to ensure the couple never crossed paths.
"Oh, they kept us apart. Like we couldn't see each other," she said. "When you're on set, you wear a mask and all black and a sweatshirt that says 'Don't talk to me'… and black gloves and you don't know who's who."
Simpson admitted she occasionally had suspicions that he was around.
"Sometimes I could like see like baggy pants and I was like, yeah, that's Evan. I know those pants," she said with a laugh.
But even then, production stepped in quickly.
"If they ever knew it was us, they'd pass us so fast. So I never saw him on set or anything."
Keeping the Secret at HomeEven at home, the secrecy didn’t stop. Simpson said she and Ross were careful about what they shared with their children. She and Ross share two children—daughter Jagger Snow, 10, and son Ziggy Blu, 5. Ross is also stepfather to Simpson’s son Bronx Mowgli, 17, from her previous marriage to Fall Out Boy musician Pete Wentz.
"It was definitely like an NDA with our children," she joked, but added that "they ended up knowing because they would hear us singing and rehearsing."
The experience eventually became a game for their family, especially as speculation started to build.
Related: Meet the Cast Competing on ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 14
The Nerve-Wracking Part of the ShowOne of the most intense aspects of the experience, Simpson said, was not knowing when her journey would end.
"Every episode that you're doing the show, you're like, I don't know when my mask is coming off. It's like an insane feeling," she said, adding, "It kind of gives me the butterflies … and I think that part was super fun of just this not knowing and fully getting invested in this game."
Related: ‘Masked Singer’ Panel’s Dream Cast Includes a Few Truly Wild Ideas (Exclusive)
Her Favorite Moments as Galaxy GirlLooking back, Simpson said some of her earliest and final performances stood out the most.
"I feel like my first performance was super fun, just to like get that first one out," she said, referring to her premiere performance of "Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl" by Chappell Roan.
She also loved getting to put her own spin on "Drive" by Incubus and also loved the spectacle of the finale where she performed "Good 4 U" by Olivia Rodrigo and "Try" by P!NK.
"I loved the last performance, like trying to get to go up in the sky like that. That was amazing… that felt powerful and fun," said Simpson, adding that stepping into the Galaxy Girl character was a highlight in itself.
"For me, it was like world of Galaxy Girl that I got to live in … and it was beautiful to see the sets and what they did to create that world," said Simpson.
What’s Next for Ashlee SimpsonAfter stepping away from music for several years, Simpson says the experience has reignited her passion.
"I'm inspired. I have the bug back and it just felt good to perform. I feel like it's my happy place."
And she confirmed fans won’t have to wait long for what’s next.
"Definitely new music to come … I am excited to keep going," said Simpson, who is lined up to perform at the 2026 Stagecoach music festival April 24-26 with Emo Nite and at the OUTLOUD music festival in West Hollywood for Pride Month June 5-7.
For Simpson, The Masked Singer wasn’t just a competition — it was a rare chance to share a unique experience alongside her husband, even if they couldn’t actually share it together. And in the end, she walked away not only with the win, but with a renewed love of performing.

2021 Reese Witherspoon 'Spine-Tingling' Book Pick Ranked 'Must-Read Thriller With Shocking Twist'
If you're the kind of person who's addicted to the rush of a good suspense novel, you know there's nothing like finding the perfect page turner to keep you staying up way past your bedtime...no matter how exhausted you are the next morning.
Luckily there are plenty of riveting titles out there to choose from — including one recommendation from Reese Witherspoon that was ranked a "must-read thriller with a shocking twist" by Penguin Random House editors: The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse.
Published in 2021, The Sanatorium tells the story of a "former abandoned sanatorium" in a remote Alpine town that's been renovated into a five-star hotel:
"An imposing, isolated getaway spot high up in the Swiss Alps is the last place Elin Warner wants to be. But Elin’s taken time off from her job as a detective, so when her estranged brother, Isaac, and his fiancée, Laure, invite her to celebrate their engagement at the hotel, Elin really has no reason not to accept. When they wake one morning to discover Laure is missing, Elin must trust her instincts if they hope to find her."
View this post on InstagramWitherspoon made The Sanatorium her Book Club pick in February 2021, praising the "eerie, atmospheric novel" for keeping her on the "edge of [her] seat" in an Instagram post.
"Let’s set the mood...You’re in a remote location — at a hotel — and there’s a snowstorm," Witherspoon wrote. "The winds are howling, the snow is pelting in every direction, there’s a missing person, and a dead body shows up...!"
"The Sanatorium will keep you checking over your shoulder. This spine-tingling, atmospheric thriller has it all: an eerie Alpine setting, sharp prose, and twists you'll never see coming. A must-read," raved Richard Osman,New York Times bestselling author of The Thursday Murder Club.
Sarah Pearse was inspired to write 'The Sanatorium' while living in SwitzerlandIn an interview with The Novelry, Pearse opened up about how living abroad as a young adult inspired her to write her debut novel, The Sanatorium.
View this post on Instagram"The idea for The Sanatorium came from both my experiences living in Switzerland in my early twenties and an article I read in a local Swiss magazine about the legacy of sanatoria in the region," she explained.
"When I lived in Switzerland, I spent a lot of time in the mountains, and after experiencing its extremes in both landscape and weather, I knew I wanted to set a story in the Alps at some point in the future," Pearse continued. "When a storm rolls in or you witness the aftereffects of an avalanche, the mountains can move very quickly from a place of fun to somewhere extremely sinister."
Pearse went on to say that the article she read "described how after antibiotics first came into use as a treatment for tuberculosis, many sanatoria became hotels."
"Looking at the photographs of these buildings, from the huge windows to the sterile interiors, got me thinking about how it would feel to stay as a guest in a building with such a clinical past. I really played with this in the design of Le Sommet, the minimalist hotel set in the old sanatorium. There are lots of macabre reminders of the building’s dark past," the author added.
The Sanatorium is a New York Times Top Ten bestseller and a No.1 Sunday Times bestseller. It's been translated into over 30 languages and has sold over half a million copies.

Costco is Selling a Gorgeous Accent Console That's Giving Pottery Barn Vibes for Way Less
The concept of transitional design has taken the interior world by storm in 2026, as homeowners move away from stark, cold modernism in favor of pieces that offer warmth and versatility. Creating a space that feels both curated and functional is the ultimate goal, particularly in high-traffic areas like entryways, dining rooms, and home offices. A well-chosen focal point doesn't just provide a place to display your favorite decor; it acts as an anchor for the entire room, bridging the gap between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary style. The challenge often lies in finding substantial furniture that provides high-end appeal without the prohibitive price tag of custom-built cabinetry.
The secret to a clutter-free, Pinterest-perfect home often resides in the balance between open styling and hidden storage. Designers frequently suggest utilizing wide, low-profile surfaces to ground large wall spaces. Providing a stage for seasonal vignettes, gallery walls or entertainment setups. By integrating furniture that offers adjustable internal organization. You can maintain a room vibe that feels intentional and organized, regardless of how much life is tucked away behind closed doors. The Light That Went Out: Remembering the Day 'Guiding Light' Was Cancelled 17 Years Ago
On April 1, 2008, CBS announced that Guiding Light, the longest-running drama in broadcast history, would end production with its final episode airing on September 18, 2009.
Set in the fictional Midwestern town of Springfield, The Guiding Light followed generations of families navigating love, loss, and legacy. Created by Irna Philips, the series began as a radio drama in 1937 before transitioning to television in 1952.

(Photo by CBS via Getty Images)In its later years, the series experimented with a new production style in an effort to boost ratings. Under executive producer Ellen Wheeler, the show moved away from traditional studio sets, adopting handheld cameras and filming on location in Peapack, New Jersey.
Over the decades, the show centered on several core families, beginning with the Bauers, and later expanding to include the Spauldings, Lewises, and Coopers.
Each family brought a distinct perspective to the series. The Bauers often served as its moral center, with deep ties to the medical field and traditions like the annual Bauer barbecue. The Spauldings embodied wealth and power, often driving corporate storylines, while the Lewises represented “new money” ambition. The Coopers, meanwhile, reflected the show’s blue-collar roots, anchored by the community hub of Company diner.
Over the years, the series featured appearances from actors who would go on to major Hollywood careers, including Kevin Bacon, Christopher Walken, James Earl Jones, Brittany Snow, Cynthia Watros, and Joan Collins.
The series also created enduring soap opera legends, including Kim Zimmer as Reva Shayne and Michael Zaslow as the iconic villain Roger Thorpe.

After the death of Bert Bauer (Charita Bauer) in 1984, Maureen was set to become the matriarch of the Bauer family. However after finding out her husband Ed (Peter Simon) was having an affair with her best friend Lillian Raines (Tina Sloan), Maureen was killed in a car accident after her car skidded off the road.
Although the show continued for years afterward, the loss of the character marked a significant shift in the series’ dynamic for some viewers.

The final moments reunited fan-favorite supercouple Reva Shayne and Joshua Lewis (Robert Newman), bringing the story full circle.
16 years later, on February 24, 2025, CBS in association with Guiding Light production company Procter & Gamble with help from the NAACP launched a brand new soap opera, Beyond The Gates. The first hourlong drama featuring a primarily Black cast. Former Guiding Light cast member Karla Mosley headlines the soap opera as Dani Dupree, continuing on the daytime legacy that began with Guiding Light, 88 years prior.

Inside Evan Ross' Marriage to Ashlee Simpson
Singer Evan Ross has been in the spotlight for years thanks to his acting roles, music career and famous family—but his relationship with wife Ashlee Simpson has also drawn plenty of attention.
Ross, the son of music legend Diana Ross, married Simpson in 2014, and the two have built a life together that blends music, television and family.
Who Is Evan Ross Married To?Evan Ross is married to singer, actress and television personality Ashlee Simpson. The couple got engaged in January 2014 and tied the knot later that year on August 30 at Diana Ross’ estate in Connecticut.
Together, they have two children—daughter Jagger Snow, 10, and son Ziggy Blu, 5. Ross is also stepfather to Simpson’s son Bronx Mowgli, 17, from her previous marriage to Fall Out Boy musician Pete Wentz.
In 2018, the couple released a joint EP under the name Ashlee + Evan and starred in their own reality series, Ashlee+Evan, which followed their lives and creative process.

Both have long careers in entertainment.
Ross made his acting debut in the 2006 film ATL and later appeared in projects like Pride, 90210 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay films. He has also released music as a solo artist and collaborated with other musicians.
Simpson rose to fame in the early 2000s with her debut album Autobiography, which topped the Billboard 200 and produced the hit single "Pieces of Me." She also starred on The Ashlee Simpson Show and appeared on 7th Heaven.
Evan Ross on Performing and Keeping SecretsRoss recently reflected on competing on The Masked Singer season 14. He was revealed as Stingray during the March 18 double elimination. Ross said he really enjoyed stepping into a new creative space.
“I was so sad when it was over,” Ross said. “I loved everybody on that production. You feel like you end up becoming like part of the family. It was great.”
He added that performing anonymously allowed him to experiment in a different way.
“I was excited about the idea that I could do these songs that I loved, and nobody know it's me,” he said.

Ross also noted that keeping his involvement a secret wasn’t always easy—especially within his own family.
“Obviously, siblings and things like that, I know [they] could tell, it's not hard, especially with the clues,” he said, adding, "I think Nick Cannon knew from the moment he saw me.”
But he and Simpson were adament about keeping their kids in the dark because they can't keep a secret.
“We did not tell the kids, because I was very concerned that Jagger and Ziggy would go to school and tell everybody, because I don't think we have any control over that at some point,” he said.
He was also asked about the rumors that his wife is also competing on the show this season, but he played coy, saying, "Man, I don't even know. That would be kind of wild if she was on the show. I feel like she doesn't need good luck. If she's if she's doing anything, she's performing, she's the best there.”
Florence Pugh Stuns in Daring Strapless Gown as She Hard Launches Romance With ‘Peaky Blinders’ Star
Florence Pugh stepped into the spotlight of Bvlgari’s recent jewelry event in Milan, Italy, with Finn Cole on her arm.
While all eyes were on the couple, as, according to People, this was Pugh’s way of hard-launching her new boyfriend, she stunned the crowd in a yellowish-green Elie Saab strapless dress with a thigh-high slit from their Spring 2026 couture collection.
In an interview with British Vogue in October 2024, Pugh said she was dating someone. However, the actress kept her special someone’s identity hidden until March 31, when she posted photos on Instagram of the Bvlgari jewelry event.
“Bvlgari with my boys,” Pugh captioned the post. “For those that were upset about me saying I had pizza, I’m sorry if that felt insensitive. I really was just talking about the Italian bread that’s graced by God- pizza.”
View this post on InstagramCole is known for his work in the Netflix show Peaky Blinders, where he portrayed Michael Gray until April 2022. His latest movie, Last Breath, was released in 2025 and also WoodyHarrelson andSimu Liu..
Cole also shared photos of himself and Pugh at Bvlgari’s event, simply captioning the post as “Bvlgari in Milan.”
Fans took to Pugh’s comment section to share their excitement for her relationship with Cole. One fan wrote, “THEY ARE INSTA OFFICIAL OMG.”
View this post on InstagramWhen Pugh was interviewed by British Vogue in 2024, she said she and her boyfriend were still figuring out “what [they] actually are.”
“I think for the first time, I’m not allowing myself to go on a roller-coaster," Pugh said. "I’m allowing myself to take time to let something evolve and let it be completely real to its core, as opposed to racing into that.”
Others were more stunned by her gown than her relationship, with many comparing her green dress to Tinker Bell and Evelyn Hugo.
“Yeah your beauty floors me,” another fan wrote.
One comment said, “gorgeous queen, as always.”
Pugh is set to reprise her role in Dune: Part Three as Princess Irulan Corrino. The film will be released on December 18, and the teaser trailer can be seen here:
1973 Hard Rock Classic That Started Out as a 'Joke' Still Has Fans Confused Decades Later
Some of the most iconic songs in rock history are famed for their notoriously misheard lyrics, from Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Bad Moon Rising" ("There's a bathroom on the right") to "Purple Haze" ("'Scuse me while I kiss this guy") and countless others. Most of the time, though, a song's title isn't too difficult for fans to figure out...but there are exceptions.
A perfect example of a song with a title that stumped listeners (and continues to do so, to this day), is Led Zeppelin's "D’Yer Mak’er." Released on their classic 1973 album Houses of the Holy, the name of the reggae-influenced tune is meant to be pronounced like "Jamaica" with a British accent. Alas, for decades fans who don't know the song's history have been saying "Dire Maker" or "Deer Maker" (or just, "that one song").
So what is the backstory?
As Robert Plant once explained in an interview with DJ Mike Halloran, the song's name came from an old joke which is best read aloud while doing an impression of the singer (or any other English rocker): “My wife's gone to the West Indies.” “Jamaica?” “No, she wanted to go."
Between the silly name and the unexpected sound of the song, "D'Yer Mak'er" divided some fans; as Far Out reported, bassist John Paul Jones apparently thought the track should have remained an in-studio gag.
“I didn’t expect people not to get it," said Jimmy Page in an interview with Dave Schulps, adding, "I thought it was pretty obvious. The song itself was a cross between reggae and a '50s number, 'Poor Little Fool,' Ben E. King's things, stuff like that."
Related: Hard Rock Guitar Hero Said He Was 'Addicted' to Playing This 'Forbidden' 1969 Riff
Perhaps understandably, the misunderstanding over "D'Yer Mak'er" was more widespread in the U.S. than the U.K, as the guitarist later revealed in a 2015 interview with Classic Rock.
"In America they had no clue what it meant, and it was just boring to have to explain what it was," Page recalled. "You’d think: why didn’t we name it something else? At least the Brits got it, thank God."
Joke or not, "D'Yer Mak'er" is still an iconic song.

‘Age of Attraction’ Reunion: Why Libby Hasn’t Met Andrew’s Kids
Andrew Wheeler met LibbyVodicka on Age of Attraction. He knew she was younger when she didn't know who the Spice Girls were, but didn't find out she was 22 until they committed to each other. The couple decided to try to make their relationship work after the Netflix series.
The cast had their reunion and gave an update on their lives a year later. Andrew, 39, explained why he's waiting to introduce Libby to his daughters.
Andrew and Libby of Age of Attraction Want to Live Together First Libby Vodicka and Andrew Wheeler on 'Age of Attraction'Andrew has teenage daughters and is open to having more children. He said at The Viall Filesreunion that he doesn't want to have another kid at 46, and that gives the couple a timeline. Libby said she loves that Andrew is a father and is aware of his timeline for a new baby.
He hasn't introduced her to his kids. "We're trying to figure out the long-distance thing first," the father said. Libby is in San Deigo and he is in Baltimore. Andrew refuses to introduce a partner to his daughters if he doesn't know she is his "forever person" after making that mistake once.
"I want to see that we can move in together, the relationship is headed to us getting engaged, spending the rest of our life together before we make that introduction," he explained.

His daughters do know he's dating Libby. Libby addressed the fact that how they met is on a show for them to watch.
"There's an element of judgment that is going to be made one way or another," she said. "So for me that's the only hard part is I don't want anybody in his family to see a little clip of me and make any assumptions versus me in real life."
Libby also hasn't met the mother of his children. Andrew said it's up to his ex to ask if she wants to meet his girlfriend. The couple is taking their time before considering getting engaged. They claimed their communication is strong, and they visited each other while keeping their relationship a secret to avoid spoilers.
