Lady, the Dachshund, Hops Into Her Mom's Suitcase Before a Trip and We're Crying

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 8:20pm

Going on a trip when you have a pet is always so hard.

They don't really understand why they can't come with you because they just love you so much.

This is more common with dogs, but cats also become sad when their parents leave.

The worst is when they get into the suitcase, hoping you will pack them. It's heartbreaking!

Influencer Abby Baffoe recently went through this experience, having just returned from a trip to Florida, only to leave for another trip to London the next day.

Her Longhaired Dachshund, Lady, was not too happy about it, and in this new video, she decides to climb into her mom's giant suitcase.

She situates herself right between some sneakers and a Louis Vuitton case. Then she starts to give her the guilt eyes.

Obviously, Baffoe had quite a strong reaction to this and screamed into the camera.

She wrote on the video, "When your dog pulls out this move right before you have to travel and makes you feel like the worst person ever."

It's so sad, but it's so cute!

@abbybaffoe

The eyes 🥺🥺 Someone has to pay the bills lady 😭😩😂

♬ Remember_you_mars - Trillian

Also, it turns out Baffoe has a very good reason to go to England, as she's going on an influencer trip that includes attending the premiere of the new film Wuthering Heights with Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie.

Sorry, Lady, but Jacob Elordi comes first sometimes!

Do Dogs Miss People the Same Ways Humans Do?

So the question is, do dogs miss people the way we miss people?

According to NextGenDogs.com, science finds that dogs' memories are linked to emotion, so the stronger the feelings, the more likely the pooch will remember a person.

So dogs definitely do miss their humans when they are gone, but in their own pup way, which is not on the same level as humans understanding complex emotions.

Golden Retriever Helps Mom and Dad Build Their Family and It’s So Sweet

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 7:55pm

Anyone who has ever loved a Golden Retriever already knows they don’t just live in your house. They live in your story. This sweet Golden Retriever named Beau didn’t just pose for cute photos. He helped his dog parents build their entire family from the very beginning.

The viral Golden Retriever video shows Beau at his parents’ wedding, front and center like he owns the place, and from there it only gets more emotional. The caption reads, “Just wait ‘til you have a baby, he won’t be as important to you guys.” Spoiler alert. That prediction did not age well.

The touching TikTok clip from @beaunosebones had people fully sobbing over it. The video walks through Beau’s role in every major milestone. When his dog parents revealed their pregnancy, Beau was there. When they announced it publicly, he wore a “big brother” bandana like a proud member of the household. At the gender reveal, Beau helped break open the cake, revealing blue frosting to announce baby Frankie. Later, when three tennis balls with baby names were tossed, Beau fetched the one that read Frankie, basically picking the baby name.

From newborn photos to Frankie’s first steps, Beau was included in everything. They even had Beau walk across a canvas with ink on his paws so his paw prints could sit beside Frankie’s tiny footprints. Matching Halloween costumes. Family vacations. Every single photo. The caption ends with, “He was the start of our little family and always will be,” and honestly, I am unwell.

Comments include, “Okay, now he needs to live forever,” and “This is how pets should be treated!” Another wrote, “Thank you, guys, for loving both your babies equally.”

Same. I’m crying, too.

I don’t care what anyone says. Dogs are not practice babies. They are family. They love us before we have careers, before we have kids, before we even know who we’re going to become. They love us in every version of our lives. Our own little Pomeranian, Kingston, grew up along with our kids, and no matter what changes, that kind of unconditional love doesn’t shrink. It just grows. Dogs don’t compete for space in your heart. They expand it.

Let this beautiful clip above be a sign to go hug your own dog.

Boston Terrier Hilariously 'Plays Possum' To Avoid Playing With Sibling

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 7:20pm

Possums aren’t the only ones who “play possum.”

In a hilarious TikTok clip, Sully, the Boston Terrier, feigns death in an attempt to avoid playing with his younger sibling.

“Sully is not in the mood to play today, so he plays possum in the hopes that Hoodsie will take the hint,” the duo’s pet parent shares. “Always a new form of silliness with these pups!”

Boy, I’ll say!

Unfortunately for Sully, I don’t think Hoodsie took the hint! Still, it was pretty cool that Sully was able to think so quickly on his feet (er, paws).

Fans can’t get enough of these two and were impressed by Sully’s reaction!

“Sully is a pretty smart fella!” noted a fan.

“Poor Sully,” added another. “I'm gonna spank Hoodsie.”

Sully IS a pretty smart fella!

I don’t think any light-hearted threats by viewers are going to change things for Sully.

“Hoodsie will only go away if he believes he’s been victorious!” chimed in another fan, who is obviously no stranger to dueling pets!

A Closer Look at Playing Possum

The term “playing possum” means pretending to be dead or unconscious, inactive, so you don’t get bothered or attacked.

It comes from actual possums, who will literally go limp and act dead when they’re scared. Upon encountering the apparently dead animal, predators often lose interest. It’s a survival trick!

The official name for playing possum is thanatosis, and it's a strategy also employed by various snakes, birds, insects, and fish. And as we now know, Boston Terriers!

I have to admit, this pup really has the possum thing down cold! It really seems like this is an innate behavior for Sully.

Sully and Hoodsie are too funny! I'd play with these two anytime. And who wouldn’t?

Boston Terriers are friendly, affectionate, and sociable dogs. They are excellent, gentle family pets who typically get along well with children, strangers, and other animals. Their playful, downright clownish personalities make them perfect companions.

Though, keep in mind that they may not always be in the mood for playing with you!

Unique Black-and-White Devon Rex Kitten Looks Like Two Cats in One

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 6:55pm

A unique black-and-white Devon Rex kitten is turning heads, thanks to her dramatic, two-tone fur and stunning pale green eyes. With a sleek black body and a silvery-white head and ears, this Devon Rex kitty genuinely looks like two cats perfectly stitched together.

The black-and-white Devon Rex is tiny enough to fit in her mom’s arms, where she happily makes biscuits and gently plays with her hand. Between the rare color contrast and her affectionate personality, it is easy to see why this Devon Rex kitten is capturing so much attention. Repeat after me: I do not need another cat.

@devonrex_minskin_kittens

The sweetest girl! I say that about all of them, and it's always true❤️ Meet Dalia (affectionately known as Dudu). This girl came all the way from China, and settled right in like she's been here forever. The precious video was shared by @devonrex_minskin_kittens. In the clip, the kitten’s mom cradles the small Devon Rex while introducing her as Dalia, affectionately known as Dudu. She explains that Dalia came all the way from China and settled in immediately, as if she had always belonged there. The caption calls her the sweetest girl and thanks her breeder, Tian of Modou Sweet, in the sweet message.

Dalia spends time in the video making biscuits against her mom’s arm and batting softly at her hand. Her large ears and delicate face give her that signature Devon Rex expression that people often compare to little gargoyles or mythical creatures. One commenter joked, “I love canonically bald gargoyles,” which honestly fits the vibe perfectly.

Another viewer wrote, “She looks like Yoda and Gizmo mixed together, so cute,” and it is hard to unsee that once you picture it. The oversized ears, the pale green eyes, and that pixie-like face really do give her a cute alien look.

Others kept it simple. “Your cat is so pretty and precious,” one person said. Another added, “I love Devons! They’re always the sweetest babies!” And one proud Devon Rex owner chimed in, “OMG, as a mother of Devons, she is absolutely stunning.”

What makes Dalia especially beautiful is the clean division of her coloring. The deep black coat contrasts sharply with the soft silvery-white on her head and ears, creating a rare and almost artistic pattern.

Devon Rex cats are known for their curly, soft coats, oversized ears, and slender builds. They have a very distinctive look that sets them apart from most other cat breeds, often described as elfin or pixie-like. Their fur is short and wavy, sometimes sparse, which makes unusual colors and patterns stand out even more dramatically.

Personality-wise, Devon Rex cats are typically affectionate, playful, and highly people-oriented. Many cat parents describe them as doglike because they enjoy following their humans around, perching on shoulders, and seeking constant interaction. They are curious and energetic, but also love being cuddled and held.

Orange Cat Who Clearly Moonlights As an Expert Masseuse Instantly Goes Viral

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 6:13pm

Move over, spa day—there's a new massage therapist in town, and he works for treats.

A TikTok video from @fagirllala shows an orange cat giving his black cat companion what might be the world's most adorable massage, gently kneading their back with expert paw movements. The internet immediately fell in love.

"Purrfection 🥹" declared one viewer, while another exclaimed, "WHAT ON EARTH, THIS IS SO CUTE 🤣🤣🤣"

The gentle, rhythmic motion—affectionately called "making biscuits" by cat lovers—appears surprisingly therapeutic. One commenter noted, "Awww now this is real love and therapy!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😻😻😻😻😻"

Others got emotional watching the sweet interaction. "MAY THIS LOVES FIND ME" wrote one wistful viewer, while another joked, "This is what i need."

The bond between these two felines struck a chord with viewers who saw something deeper. "I bet they are lovers in their past life" commented multiple people, sensing the special connection.

Why Do Cats Knead Like Tiny Masseuses?

This adorable behavior actually starts in kittenhood. Kittens knead their mother's belly while nursing to stimulate milk flow, creating a comforting association that many cats carry into adulthood.

When cats knead their humans—or in this case, their feline friends—it typically signals contentment, affection and trust. It's essentially a cat's way of saying, "I feel safe and happy with you."

Related: Golden Retriever's Pure Disdain Over Winter Weather Will Have You Feeling Seen

I experienced this firsthand in college when I rescued a polydactyl cat (six-toed) named Cleo from a parking garage one freezing winter night. She was only 12 weeks old, huddled under a car for warmth. After searching unsuccessfully for her humans, we adopted her.

Cleo became the ultimate cuddle companion, and her favorite spot was on my chest, where she'd knead my neck while purring contentedly—just like this orange masseuse working his magic.

Polydactyl cats, incidentally, carry a genetic trait that gives them extra toes. Ernest Hemingway famously kept these special felines at his Key West home, and nearly 60 polydactyl cats still live there today as descendants of his original six-toed cat, Snow White.

Whether your cat has the standard number of toes or a few extras, that kneading behavior represents pure feline affection. One commenter perfectly captured the vibe: "Mew-sassage therapist. 🤗"

The verdict from TikTok? "Cat baking cat. Wow" and "This is so stinking cute 🥰"

If you're lucky enough to receive kitty massages from your feline companion, consider yourself blessed. These paws were made for kneading, and that's just what they'll do—preferably while you're trying to work, sleep or do literally anything else.

Golden Retriever Puppy Tries to Learn the Stairs but Older Fur Baby Sibling Has 'Other Plans'

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 6:10pm

Whether it's waiting for their brother or sister at a doctor's appointment or sports practice, or having to help them with a task, siblings learn a lot of social skills from growing up together. The same applies to our fur babies. There are plenty of times when my Pug mix wants to walk for another 20 minutes while my Dachshund is pulling to go inside. They have to be flexible and make allowances for each other.

Leia the Golden Retriever recently dealt with this sort of situation when she had to squelch her desire to play so her puppy sister Daisy could get a steps lesson.

@leia.the.golden

Ball is life #fyp #goldenretrieversoftiktok #goldenretrieverpuppy #trending #puppytiktok

♬ C.B.Rhumba by Sage Guyton and Jeremy Wakefield - SpongeRadio

In the TikTok from @Leia.the.golden, Daisy was at the top of the stairs watching her mom place treats on each step as a way to motivate her to walk down. The precious puppy looked at the little morsel and was intrigued, yet intimidated by how to lower herself to get it. She took a few steps back before giving it another try.

The camera panned over to Leia, who stood at the very edge of the steps with a large plastic ball in her mouth. The gorgeous Golden looked ready to bound down the stairs to get playtime going, but was obviously being held up by her little sister's lessons.

"Trying to teach our new puppy how to walk down the stairs but her older sister has other plans," the onscreen text read, with the caption adding, "Ball is life."

Leia seemed ready to break into a run at any moment so that her ball could start getting tossed around. She clearly wasn't thrilled with the delay, especially because of a task she learned how to do years ago.

At What Age Can Puppies Use Stairs?

Puppies are notoriously clumsy in their early months of life and haven't developed solid coordination skills. They get stronger as each week passes and learn more about gravity and spatial awareness with time.

Related: Sweet Golden Retriever Won't Eat Dinner Until He Gets a Kiss and It's Adorable

These little fur babies are usually ready to face the steps challenge at approximately 12 to 16 weeks with parent supervision, depending on their size and health. In the meantime, pet parents should use baby gates or other barriers to prevent any unmonitored attempts.

Hopefully Daisy's lesson didn't last too long and Leia got to play fetch to her heart's content.

Golden Retriever Siblings Investigate Missing Ball Like Adorable Detectives

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 3:55pm

Dogs rarely forget where they've placed one of their favorite items. Actually, they even seem to know where we misplace our own things. I don't know why they're so smart, but it's pretty cool to see their minds going to work.

This describes Golden Retrievers Blue and Bonnie, and little Boone. When their trusty ball slipped under the oven, they weren't going anywhere until Mom noticed and helped get it out. Call them everyday heroes, or call them doggy Sherlock Holmes personified—they'll get the job done!

This family of clever pups collectively used their telepathy to get the ball back. OK, so technically, planting themselves in front of the oven, waiting for someone to lend a helping hand, is a form of telepathy, right? Watch the little detectives sniff out their beloved ball!

As Mom joked, "Blue can always sniff out a ball," and you can tell by the way he's dramatically overflowing with sadness (to make his point), he knows what he's doing. It's especially impressive because the ball traveled to that spot a week ago, and he remembered it.

When it's Blue and Bonnie, it's already a cute heist, but once Boone joins in, it's a "pawty!" In case there's a joke about how many Golden Retrievers it takes to (fill in the blank), it's apparently three!

Related: Golden Retriever Puppy's Bond With Baby Will Melt Your Heart

The Golden Retriever Crew Does Everything Together

It's kind of surprising that Blue, Bonnie, and Boone don't have more followers. After going viral several times over, the trio of Golden Retrievers continues to show off the close bond. In a video from 2024, Mom caught the three adorable pups having a secret powwow, probably plotting how to get more treats!

I'm sure at least one of the three will lose another ball to the oven again at some point, so Mom should stay on alert. If she doesn't, Blue has no issues with giving another dramatic performance to get that thing out. Also, if any ball businesses need a furry little detective to test out the products every which way, give them a call!

Maltese Puppy Proves Toddler Tantrums Have Nothing on Cranky Dogs

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 2:55pm

Small dogs often come with big opinions, and despite their mini stature, they have voices that travel long and far. Maltese puppies are no exception to this rule, and when they’re tired, frustrated, or mildly inconvenienced, they have no problem expressing their fury at full volume.

We see that play out in this cute video that captures a Maltese puppy in peak cranky mode, complete with dramatic noises and very clear, determined body language. The intensity of his frustration packed into such a small frame makes the moment impossible not to laugh at. Take a look!

@lisy.tran

why is he yelling at me?? 😭 (it’s the lil guttural growl my adorable maltese puppy makes that gets me 😂🤭😅) #maltese #dogsoftiktok #puppy #puppiesoftiktok #fyp

♬ original sound - lisy tran

On January 30, TikTok user @lisy.tran shared a video of her adorable Maltese dog, named Leo, who proves that small packages can be underestimated. In Leo's case, he looks like a quiet, tiny pup who would be far easier to manage than a human toddler, but once he's awake, it becomes clear that's very much not the case.

In this clip, Leo's mom jokes that she added a dog to her family instead of human kids because she doesn't want to deal with the tantrums. But little did she know at the time that this Maltese's cranky tantrums could easily rival a human 2-year-old.

Little, forceful barks, full wagging of the tail, bouncing on spot, there's no missing this sweet dog full-on yelling at his mom. For what? Who knows. But he's going to keep you on your toes until you figure it out.

Related: Small Maltese Siblings Working Together to Open the Bedroom Door Are an Absolute Hoot

In the comments, people had fun giggling at Leo's crankiness.

One person wrote, "OMG, same with mine, down to the sneeze."

Another shared, "They are soooo much more fulfilling. When a child hits puberty, they turn into jerks."

Someone else added, "Looks like a Maltese. 100% attitude."

Other comments included, "Always so sassy," "We can't get enough of your cuteness," and a lot of heart and heart-eye emojis.

Maltese Dogs Have Fun Personalities

Leo may be small in size, but you can't tell him that because he won't believe you; he's a Maltese. According to experts, these dogs, part of the toy group, are known for being playful and fun.

The American Kennel Club notes that the Maltese can be described as "playful, charming, [and] gentle," and are at the very top of the "Affectionate with family" scale. They're also really good at being an "alert watchdog," the site explains, because these pups are fearless as well as charming and stubborn, too, which is quite the interesting mix.

And watching Leo being hilarious and playful, we don't doubt that for a second.

Stray Pit Bull Whimpers With Pure Joy Upon Realizing Kind Woman Is Rescuing Him

He didn't know it yet, but that would be his last day on the street, and now, he's living happily ever after.

She shared that she had driven past him hanging out in the same spot for three days, and she knew that she couldn't do it again, so she decided in the moment to take him in.

In every single video that she has shared of this sweet baby so far, his tail is wagging away and he looks happy as can be, so it seems like Blu really did finally find the home he was looking for.

Itty-Bitty Foster Pit Bull Puppy Experiences His First Snowfall and We're Here for It

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 12:55pm

There is nothing like a puppy experiencing snow for the first time, and of course, for this foster Pit Bull puppy named Piglet, it is extra special.

In a new video from the account @we.three.pitties, which features the journey of a family who fosters Pit Bull puppies, we see Piglet, the pup, frolicking in the snow in his backyard.

He seems to love it, as he runs back and forth and is genuinely curious about this cold, white stuff, giving it lots of smells and trying to play with it.

In the video, we get some close-ups of that adorable little face. He really does resemble a little pig with his pinkish skin!

The last shot in the video is Piglet running through the snow. What a fun day!

In another video, his mom explains that he has a spicy alter ego named Pork Chop. Pork Chop loves to play, chew, bark, and climb on tables (and sometimes poop in the house, unfortunately!).

We also found out in another recent video from the account that Piglet had a rough start.

His mom explained that he was found in someone’s front yard, all by himself, and with a low body temperature.

When he arrived at the shelter, he required lots of fluids, as he was a little weak.

But he has recovered now, having a great time at his foster home and experiencing lots of adventures.

He also loves to lie on heating vents and soak up all the warmth.

♬ original sound - estwne How Cold Is Too Cold for a Pit Bull?

With all these videos of dogs frolicking in the snow, we have to ask if they are OK in these low temperatures.

For the most part, the answer is yes.

Pit Bulls can be in the cold, but not for too long, under 45 degrees Fahrenheit, according to VetsExplainPets.com.

With their short coats and lack of undercoat, they are more prone to health issues from the cold than other breeds.

But a little session in the snow here and there is fine, especially if they are having fun like Piglet.

After a DIY Haircut, Dog's Tiny Head Looks Like a Beanie Baby on His Body

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 12:20pm

There are bad haircuts. There are “I let my cousin try something” haircuts. And then there is this.

One very fluffy gray, mixed-breed dog (possibly with some Poodle or Doodle in the family tree, because that coat is doing the absolute most) is going viral after his humans shaved just his head at home… and stopped there. The result? A teeny-tiny head perched on top of what appears to be a walking faux-fur beanbag chair.

@charlottedoggrooming

Just leave it to the groomers 🤣🐾 Poor fella. #grooming #dogsoftiktok #groomers #groomer #dogtok

♬ original sound - 🤍

The video, posted by @charlottedoggrooming, shows the sweet, bewildered fluffball toddling around a room while waiting for his professional grooming appointment. The caption reads: “We shaved his head at home, can you shave the rest?”

Friend.

The “rest” is doing Olympic-level heavy lifting.

Related: This Is the #1 Hardest Dog to Groom, According to a Vet

From the side, his little, shaved face looks neat and polite. From the neck down? It’s winter parka. It’s shag rug. It’s “I’m wearing my dad’s coat to school because I lost mine.” TikTok was not prepared.

One viewer pleaded, “Tell them no. You can’t take this joy away from the world.” Another asked the only logical question: “What in the Beetlejuice is going on here?”—a reference to Beetlejuice and its famously tiny-headed character named Bob.

And honestly? The comparison is not unfair. The proportions are giving “Bob the shrunken head, but make it fluffy.”

Other comments were just as unhinged in the best way:

  • “This looks like a download in progress.”
  • “But why does he look like he’s wearing a fur coat?”
  • “Little dog in a biiiiiig coat.”
  • “I desperately need to know what the rest of the dog looks like underneath. I don’t understand.”
  • “I mean, at least he can breathe now? Imagine all that fluff around his face.”

That last one is actually… a little bit valid.

Because here’s the thing about super fluffy dogs—especially Poodle mixes and Doodles. That dense coat can get matted fast. When matting happens around the face, it can trap moisture and debris, and even cause skin irritation. So yes, technically, shaving the face can provide relief.

But shaving only the face?

That’s how you end up with a Beanie Baby head glued onto a life-size stuffed animal.

Why Not To Groom Your Dog at Home @missstacy_clark

Please stop home grooming! 👀 #genx #doggroomer #doggroomerlife #dogsoftiktok #doggroomersoftiktok

♬ Folsom Prison Blues - Remastered 2022 - Johnny Cash

Let’s talk gently and with love here.

Home dog grooming sounds simple. You buy clippers. You watch two YouTube videos. You think, “How hard could it be?” And sometimes? It’s totally fine for light trims or maintenance brushing.

First, matting isn’t always visible on the surface. A dog can look fluffy and soft, but underneath that top layer can be tight, painful mats close to the skin. Shaving unevenly can leave some areas short and others packed with tangles. That’s uncomfortable and tricky to fix.

Second, dogs move. A lot. One wiggle mid-clip and suddenly you’ve carved out a very committed bald spot.

Third, coat balance matters. Professional groomers shape the head, body, and legs so everything looks intentional. When you only shave one section, you create… well. This.

A tiny little head floating atop a roaming comforter.

And finally, certain coats require specific blades and techniques to avoid irritation or clipper burn. That’s why experienced groomers train for this. They’ve seen every “we tried at home first” situation imaginable—and they fix it.

Unless you’re ready for your pup to look like a Beanie Baby wearing a full-length fur coat.

Sorry, Pompey!

I can certainly relate to Auntie Posey not wanting to play. When I’m done with work and have completed my workday and tasks around the house, all I want to do is sit and relax for a bit. I’m with you, girl! But really, what is Auntie Posey’s excuse? She doesn't strike me as a working dog. (Sorry, Aunt Posey, just sayin'.)

Still, fans can’t get enough of this adorable duo!

“I wanna play NOW!” a viewer said on TikTok.

“Yeah, I tried this experiment as well and ended up getting the 1-year-old a puppy,” another viewer added. "This was them 30 minutes after bringing the puppy home, and it’s been like this for two years now."

With that, some dogs (like some people) prefer less socialization, so my advice to Pompey is to give your auntie some peace and quiet. Maybe she’ll play with you later!

Are Pugs Friendly?

With round, flat faces and short little snouts, Pugs may appear a little rough around the edges, but they are actually friendly, affectionate dogs. (Well, maybe not Auntie Posey!) They are known for their gentle nature, making them good with kids and other pets.

Pugs enjoy human companionship and often form strong bonds with their pet parents. Their playful, sociable disposition makes them excellent family pets, and they are often described as having light-hearted, humorous temperaments.

Hopefully, Auntie Posey will come around soon enough to enjoy some time with Pompey. This little guy is just the cutest thing and deserves some serious playtime.

Mini Goldendoodle Pleading His Case for Having 'Second Dinner' Would Make Anyone Cave

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 11:30am

Anyone who happens to be a parent to a dog who seems to be always begging for food — yours, their own, or both — should at least take comfort in the fact that they are not alone. Trying to get more food and treats out of the human in their lives is a very typical doggy pastime, after all.

It's hard to say if any dog can get their point across quite as well as the Mini Goldendoodle below, though. Just listen to those howls!

@fluffy.doodle.louie

I have no memory of this alleged dinner. #feedme #puppytiktok #howling

♬ original sound - fluffy.doodle.louie

According to Louie's mom, he's already had his dinner, but far be it from him to let that stop him from begging for another.

Even just being reminded that he already ate is offensive to him. That is such a sassy howl!

No word on whether or not his mom gave in, but who could blame her if she did?! It has to be hard to say no to that face.

Related: Mini Goldendoodle Tries To Reason With the Rain and It’s Too Cute

Why Dogs Beg for Food — Even if They're Not Hungry

Louie was asking for second dinner in the video, implying that he's already eaten first dinner, but many dogs won't let that pesky little fact stop them from trying to get more food. But if they've recently eaten a meal and are still begging for food, it doesn't necessarily mean that your dog is still hungry.

As PetMD points out, there are a lot of reasons to explain the begging behavior. The site claims that since dogs love food so much and their sense of smell is so strong that they simply can't help themselves. They might be stuffed, but there's always room for more when you're a dog, apparently.

Other dogs might just want your attention and have found that if they beg for food, they get it (even if it's not the good kind of attention).

If you'd like to put a stop to this behavior ASAP, there are a couple of things you can try. Next time they beg, ignore the behavior entirely. You can also start eating in one designated area and make sure it's not near where the dog eats — that way, no boundaries are crossed.

Now, if you ask me, Louie needs a treat or something.

Golden Retriever Claims Newborn's Blankie as 'His' and It's Pure, Wholesome Goodness

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 11:20am

If ever there was a job with the position as "Resident Smile Maker," a dog would be the top candidate for sure. They're rarely ever trying to make everyone say, "aww," but that's exactly what they end up doing—so don't even bother applying!

Loki, the Golden Retriever, is the pup for the job, having proven his unconditional love and steadfast loyalty to his humans, particularly the newborn baby. Though, they're going to have to work out an agreement with the baby's blanket, because that's Loki's "baby!"

A Golden Retriever looks at the camera while lying in a cozy bed.

Not a day goes by that a Golden Retriever like Loki isn't putting goodness into the atmosphere. He's a dose of optimism, all sunshine and roses, and the best big brother to his human siblings (as long as he gets to keep the blanket)!

@agoldendogmom

that blanket was Loki’s baby & did not leave his side for months 🥹 highly recommend taking your dog a baby blanket from the hospital.. can’t wait to do this again in a few months!! #dogs #tiktokdogs #dogsandbabies

♬ EVERLASTING LOVE - GROWS

To prepare Loki for a newborn baby, Mom and Dad offered the good boy the baby's hospital blanket. Since it had the little one's scent all over it, Loki could connect the comfort of that blanket with her once she came home. As you can see, he took the responsibility of caring for the treasured blanket and the infant seriously!

With his first day on the job, he wasn't about to fail and showed his parents he not only approved of a new baby, but quietly, he promised to be as gentle with her as he was with the blanket. The sweet video is definitive proof we don't deserve dogs!

Loki and Cosmo Are the Best Dog Siblings to Their Human Kids

As the oldest, Loki knows it's a great TK, but his bond with the baby has only strengthened over time. Golden Retriever brother, Cosmo, joined the gang shortly after the baby's birth, so they're all growing up together. It's been two years since Loki's blanket post, and he's about to do it all over again.

A November 2025 video shows the moment Mom reveals she's pregnant with the help of Loki, and it's too cute.

Discarded Breeder Dog Is Now Living Her Sweetest Life as One of the Girls

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 10:55am

There are stories about breeder dogs that break your heart. And then there are stories like this one that put it back together again. This gray-and-white Pit Bull went from being a discarded breeder dog living on the streets to finally experiencing what her new family calls “true girlhood.”

The viral video shows the sweet Pit Bull surrounded by women gently covering her in rhinestones and pink heart stickers while Taylor Swift’s song “Eldest Daughter” plays in the background. (Yes, bring tissues.) The caption reads, “Going from being a discarded breeder dog, living on the streets, to experiencing true girlhood,” and honestly, it hits.

@forlivandlemons

she’s just a girl! #pitbullsoftiktok #pittiesoftiktok #pitbull #mamadog

♬ som original - tayvis 🏹

The emotional TikTok clip, shared by @forlivandlemons, even had the official Barbie account commenting: “She was meant to live a girlhood life.” If that doesn’t tell you the vibe, nothing will.

The dog’s expression says everything. She turns her head slowly so everyone gets a turn placing a sticker. At one point, she gives a tiny “mlem,” and the people in the comments lost it. “Even got a mlem out of her. She feels that love,” one person wrote. Another added, “I am sobbing. The love in her eyes.” Someone else said, “Her little face is heart-shaped,” and it really is.

You can see it. The way she looks at every single person around her. No fear. No flinching. Just softness. One commenter summed it up perfectly: “She absolutely radiates ‘what a good girl’ energy.”

And the internet agreed. “Not me literally sobbing over this sweet angel and the kind souls surrounding her…”

Same. Fully sobbing.

What Is a Breeder Dog? @cheezeballer1

Guys I can’t stop posting about bubbles she’s so perfect I’m obsessed

♬ sonido original - CaliMBIANOS

A breeder dog is a dog used for producing litters, often in commercial breeding operations. Sadly, some are discarded when they are no longer considered profitable. Many of these dogs have spent their entire lives having puppies with very little socialization, stability, or affection. Some have never lived in a home. Some have never been someone’s “baby.”

That’s why stories like hers hit so hard.

When breeder dogs are rescued, they often need patience, gentle handling, and time to learn that humans can be safe and kind. But once they settle in, they can be incredibly loyal, affectionate, and grateful in ways that honestly make you rethink everything.

If you want to help pups like her, consider adopting from a rescue that specializes in former breeder dogs or donating to your local shelter. Even fostering can change a life. Sometimes, all it takes is one soft landing and a group of people willing to cover a dog in pink stickers and tell her she’s perfect.

Because she always was.

Behind-the-Scenes Look at How Horses Travel by Airplane Is Fascinating

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 10:30am

TikTok viewers are fascinated by a behind-the-scenes look at how horses travel by airplane, revealing a surprisingly luxurious and carefully managed process. From custom-built stalls to dedicated in-flight care, the video shows that these frequent-flying horses are far more comfortable in the air than most people might expect.

The video is courtesy of The ARK, the animal reception center at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, and shows the high style in which these horses travel. A traditional cargo plane is converted for equine transport with trailer-style stalls. Each stall is complete with water, hay, and in-flight grooms to care for the horses' every need.

"Wish I could have my own stall while traveling," joked one viewer after seeing the well-appointed accommodations.

"How do I become a horse attendant?" jokes one person in the comments.

Another chimes in with “Would you like some hay, sir?"

It's a brief clip, but the account features other videos that further explain the horse transport process from arrival at the facility to departure of the plane. In addition to some being private pets, other horses are actually athletes, traveling to compete all over the world.

This video from 2024 features members of a U.S. Equestrian team preparing for their journey to the Paris Olympics:

♬ original sound - The ARK at JFK What is The ARK at JFK?

Only a handful of airports in the U.S. are equipped to transport horses, and one of them is JFK. The ARK is a "privately owned 24/7 animal reception center, equine quarantine facility, and full-service transportation center" located in the cargo area of the airport's campus. The facility also provides pre- and post-travel animal care and veterinary services for animals beyond just horses, such as dogs, cats, birds, non-domesticated mammals, and exotic animals.

In addition to acquiring the proper permits and health certificates, horses imported to the U.S. must quarantine for anywhere from 3 days to 60 days, depending on such factors as the country of origin and the reason for travel. This is where a place like The ARK comes in. Horses remain in the state-of-the-art facility until they complete their evaluation and are looked after by expert veterinary staff and highly-trained, caring handlers for the duration of their stay.

Chesapeake Bay Retriever Steals the Show at Westminster With One Crowd-Pleasing Move

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 10:10am

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is known as the crown jewel of events in the canine world. Taking place every year since 1877, this year's beloved competition, presented by Purina Pro Plan, was recently held at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center & Madison Square Garden in New York City. A striking Doberman Pinscher named Penny won the coveted title of Best in Show.

Though Penny was center stage, Cota the Chesapeake Bay Retriever caught everyone's eye with an adorable dance after earning an impressive award of his own.

In the TikTok from @carolinekingdom, Cota was led around the ring by his handler and obeyed every command like a pro. The Chesapeake Bay Retriever was the picture of grace and enthusiasm as he exhibited his impressive intelligence and heartwarming personality.

Cota earned the Reserve Best in Show title, which is the runner-up ranking in the event. The precious pooch obviously felt honored by the recognition and treated the live audience and television viewers to a celebratory dance. Cota couldn't contain his excitement and even wanted to hold the ribbon all on his own.

"The crowd roared as Cota, the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, claimed the runner-up spot for Best in Show at Westminster last night," the caption explained from Good Dog's Facebook page. "But perhaps most notable was the moment he pranced off, carrying his ribbon in his mouth in a uniquely playful 'Chessie' kind of way."

The post noted a historical accomplishment by Cota for the breed and gave some background on his breeder, Adam Levy.

"Cota’s story starts with Good Dog breeder Adam Levy of Next Generation, who breeds, raises, and trains Chesapeakes in Chatfield, Minnesota," the caption shared. "His dogs are OFA cleared and health tested for issues common in the breed, family-raised, and bred for versatility, ability, and drive, carrying on the rich hunting history of the Chesapeake. Cota has already made history as the winningest Chesapeake in the breed’s history."

Are Chesapeake Bay Retrievers Rare?

Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, also called “Chessies,” are one of the most esteemed water dogs in the United States. Known for their strong stamina, high intelligence, and unwavering loyalty, these hardworking hunting dogs have a waterproof coat as well as relentless determination. Their strong work ethic is coupled with a loving and affectionate spirit, making them wonderful family pets.

Congrats to Cota on his big win!

Mama Dachshund Can’t Stop Babying Full-Grown Daughter in Precious Clip

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 10:00am

Mamas love their babies, right? That's supposed to be how it goes. Most of the time, it does, especially for dogs. For the 8 weeks between being born and going off to their forever homes, those puppies are her whole world.

If she's lucky, there will be one or two who stay behind. That's exactly what happened for one Dachshund, whose parents let her keep her favorite puppy. Clearly, she could not be any happier about it:

@jiiiimenam

that’s her baby 🥹 #dachshund #dogs #pets #petlover #fyp

♬ original sound - nia

Mena has 5 Dachshunds, or as she calls them, Weens. Out of the five of them, several are related! The one with the cast on actually recently became a big sister; her mom had one puppy late last year.

She's definitely milking the whole "broken leg" bit for more kisses from her mama, but luckily, her mama is more than happy to oblige her. She's okay, just got into a fight with one of the other Weens!

Related: Dachshund ‘Battles’ Cat Sister and the Winner Is So Clear

Most of the time, they get along pretty well. This was just a strange one-off incident, and their mom is taking steps to ensure that it never happens again. Unfortunately, even dogs who have cohabitated peacefully for years might fight over:

  1. A favorite toy.
  2. Food.
  3. Space for napping.

Most likely, they were fighting over who would be the first to snuggle the new puppy, Snickers. He's just too cute:

He was a singleton puppy, and Mena has already mentioned that she'll be keeping him. I'm so happy the family gets to stay together!

Mama Dogs Can Live With Their Puppies

While it's not necessary, and there's no harm in not keeping puppies as long as you find them loving homes, keeping them is an option. Some people think they'll fight as they age, but that's typically not true.

Mama dogs may turn on their puppies, but it's unlikely, as long as you provide proper:

  1. Exercise
  2. Meals
  3. Training
  4. Space

Littermates are more prone to fighting than mother/puppy pairs. Not this pair, though. They'd never put paws on each other!

Golden Retriever's Pure Disdain Over Winter Weather Will Have You Feeling Seen

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 9:32am

When the real feel hits negative six degrees, even the most enthusiastic golden boy has his limits. Meet Auggie, a Golden Retriever who perfectly captured everyone's winter mood while standing on a snowy New York City sidewalk looking absolutely over it.

Posted by @auggie.golden on TikTok, the video shows Auggie dressed for arctic conditions in a burgundy winter hat and hunter green wellies. Despite his adorable cold-weather gear, his expression says everything: "Oh hell naw."

The caption perfectly summarizes the situation: "Morning potty walk protest. Auggie says, " Oh, hell naw 😭🥶"

@auggie.golden

morning potty walk protest auggie says oh hell naw 😭🥶 #puppy #freezing #snow #nyc #viral

♬ gymnopédie no.1 - Edits

With text overlay reading "Real feel -6 degrees got us like 😭🥶🤨" Auggie stands motionless as snow falls around him, embodying every person who's ever had to venture outside during a polar vortex.

The comment section exploded with people who felt personally represented by this bundled-up pup. "Same bestie, same 😫" wrote one viewer, while another added, "The struggle is so real 😂"

Why Do Golden Retrievers Hate Cold Weather So Much?

Here's the funny part: Golden Retrievers were actually bred in Scotland for outdoor work, specifically retrieving waterfowl in cold water. These sturdy, medium-sized dogs were developed with dense, water-repellent coats designed for harsh conditions.

Yet, Auggie's protest proves that modern Golden Retrievers have opinions about winter weather—especially when it involves mandatory bathroom breaks at dawn in subzero temps.

"Omg, he's trying so hard to deal with it 🥹🥹😭" one commenter noted, perfectly capturing Auggie's valiant effort to tolerate the elements.

Goldens typically love outdoor activities and are known for their enthusiasm about pretty much everything. Swimming and fetching are natural favorites for this breed, which maintains playful, puppy-like energy well into adulthood.

Related: Moment Chocolate Labrador Puppies From Same Litter Recognize Each Other Is Pure Sweetness

But apparently, standing still on icy sidewalks at negative six degrees? That's where Auggie draws the line.

Viewers couldn't get enough of his outfit. "Absolutely rocking that fit 💅" praised one fan, while another called him "divine 💜." Several compared him to a babushka (Russian grandmother), noting his wise, world-weary expression.

"It's the face that says I wasn't going to dress up because I was just going to the store but I've ran in to everyone I know. 😂😊" joked one commenter, nailing the relatable energy.

Others offered solutions: "Oh puppy! Grab a latte and a little schnecken," suggested one viewer, while another demanded, "Get that good boy a pup cup stat!"

The real winner here? Auggie's commitment to letting his humans know exactly how he feels about winter morning potty walks. No words needed—just one perfectly grumpy golden face that speaks for cold-weather haters everywhere.

Stay warm out there, Auggie. We feel you.

Doberman Pinscher Who Won 150th Westminster Dog Show Just Made History

Thu, 02/05/2026 - 9:30am

Doberman Pinscher named Penny won Best in Show at the 150th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, making history at one of the world’s most prestigious dog competitions. Her handler’s emotional journey is part of the story—but Penny’s landmark victory is what truly sets this win apart.

It was an extraordinary year for the 150th anniversary of the show; it welcomed more than 2,500 canine competitors -- over 500 more than in 2025 -- representing over 200 recognized breeds. Because of this increase in participants, Penny had even more work cut out for her as she battled for the coveted top prize, first winning Best in Breed and Best in the Working Group.

@wkcdogs

History is made: Penny the Doberman Pinscher is the 2026 Best in Show winner at the 150th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. 🏆 A history-defining moment at @The Garden. #WestminsterDogShow #WKC150

The winners of all seven groups (Herding, Hound, Non-Sporting, Sporting, Terrier, Toy, and Working) then compete for the championship, Best in Show, which went to the prized Doberman (her official name is GCHP CH Connquest Best Of Both Worlds) and her veteran handler Andy Linton. Linton previously won Best in Show back in 1989 with the last Doberman to take home the championship, Indy.

Historic, yes, but Penny's win marked the achievement of a deeply personal goal for Linton, who battles Parkinson's disease, of being able to lead his beloved dog around the storied ring. He did so flawlessly.

Related: Alicia Silverstone Saves Terrier Mix Scheduled for Euthanasia and Gets the Sweetest Surprise

And the internet has fallen in love with lucky Penny.

"I knew she was going to win. She's a stunning animal," professes one fan.

"That’s the most perfect dog I’ve ever seen in my life," adds another.

They are also taken with Linton, as one follower proves in the comments, "This is a HUGE win for this man."

Indeed, it is.

The Life of a Show Dog

Show dogs may be known for their elegance and blue ribbons, but they aren’t the right fit for every dog parent. Raising a show dog requires an exceptional puppy (often from top breeding lines), plus a serious investment of time, money, and expertise.

Raising a show dog requires education and dedication regarding nutrition, conditioning, ongoing socialization, daily grooming, and specialized training. It is a job on top of the inherent joy of having a pet, but one that should be a labor of love. Even more importantly, however, it's the dog that needs to genuinely enjoy the ring — their happiness and well-being always come first.

For those deeply passionate about a specific breed, working with breed clubs, reputable breeders, and experienced trainers is essential. Many show dog parents devote a lifetime to the sport. It takes winning many smaller, breed-level competitions before qualifying to run with the big dogs at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.
