Tiny Pug Puppy Nails Tricks at Just 10 Weeks Old Like a Total Pro

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 1:23pm

Thomas, the petite Pug puppy, has TikTok viewers wrapped around his tiny paw after showing off his precocious abilities at just ten weeks old. In the video posted by his mom, Thomas is seen obeying commands for "sit," "paw," and "speak" in exchange for highly motivating treats.

In fairness, Thomas has to redo his response to "speak" after he mimes the motion but forgets to bark. It's the blooper we all need and becomes the cutest part of this already endearing video.

@ketchupdiggypond

Only for treats that is… #pug #puppy #pugpuppy #puppytraining #puppytricks

"Omg when he forgot how to bark for a second SO CUTE," says one person in the comments.

Another Thomas fan agrees, although slightly more fervently, "Ma’am, I am so sorry, but if you ever post anything but this dog, I’ll sue you. He’s perfecttttt."

He really is. Thomas is a clever little Pugger!

The Patrician Pug

Pugs are extremely popular pets because of their compact size and easygoing demeanor. They are good with kids and other dogs and love spending lots of time with their humans. But Pugs also contain a storied history with a far more noble lineage than you might expect. The following are some surprising facts about Pugs:

  1. The Pug is one of the oldest breeds, with its origins dating back more than 2000 years in China.
  2. Pugs became the official dogs of Buddhist monasteries in Tibet.
  3. When Napoleon's wife, Josephine, was imprisoned, she used her beloved Pug to carry secret messages hidden in his collar back to her husband.
  4. In the 1500s, a Pug named Pompey became the official dog of the Dutch royal family after saving Prince William the Silent from an assassination attempt by barking to alert him. A statue of Pompey still adorns the top of the prince's (eventual) tomb.
  5. In the early 19th century, Queen Victoria popularized Pugs by bringing several into her home, including Olga, Pedro, Minka, Fatima, and Venus.
  6. A group of Pugs is called a grumble (it's true!)
  7. The AKC only recognizes three official colors for Pugs: silver or apricot-fawn with a black face mask, or all black. But Pugs can be found in many more unofficial color combinations, including brindle, merle, white, and the rare chocolate, like our talented and tiny friend Thomas.

Dachshund Demanding Dinner at 4:00PM Each Day Is a True Boss Queen

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 12:30pm

Even for those of us who don't have regularly demanding dogs, the situation can totally change when a meal (or treat) is involved. A lot of dogs out there truly don't mess around when it comes to their designated dinner times... and they may not always be thrilled about when the meal is served, either!

For example, Sprinkles, the adorable Dachshund in the video below. Her dinner is always served at 5, but she's trying her best to convince her mom that they should move that time up an hour.

@sprinklestheweenie

does your dachshund do this?😅 #dog #dachshund #wienerdog #sausagedog #teckel

♬ original sound - Sprinkles the Weenie

On Friday, February 6, @sprinklestheweenie showed us exactly how this adorable dog demands her dinner at 4 p.m., even though dinner is always served at 5. Let's just say she was not impressed by her mom's refusal to budge.

Though Mom did give her the peace offering of a treat while she waited for her dinner, according to Sprinkles, that absolutely was not enough.

It sounds like her mom is sticking to her guns when it comes to that dinner time, though, so Sprinkles should probably get used to it...

The Ideal Dinner Time for Dogs

If you're a parent to a dog, there's a good chance you've already discovered on your own that dogs really do thrive on routine, and even though they can't read a clock, they definitely know when it's dinner time.

But what is the ideal time to serve them so they can thrive? As VCA Animal Hospitals points out, the most important thing to pay attention to when it comes to choosing their dinner time is the fact that they will start to feel hungry about 8 to 10 hours after their last meal, so you can pick a dinner time based on when they'll be served breakfast (especially if you don't want them to wake you up at the crack of dawn, asking for food!).

And yes, it is better to serve them two meals a day — just make sure that they're receiving the proper portions based on your pup's breed, weight, age, and the food they're eating. They will thank you!

German Shepherd’s ‘Speech’ Sounds Just Like Someone Cleaning a Window

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 11:00am

Being a dog is hard. Think about it: when you want a snack, you use your opposable thumbs to open the fridge and get one. When you need to use the bathroom, you don't have to wait for someone to let you out!

Dogs don't have those luxuries. They depend on us for just about everything, and when we're not available, they have to resort to extreme measures. One German Shepherd has learned to vocalize his needs, but he sounds very cleaning-window-like:

@major_speaks

Today is my 4th birthday. Here’s my story. Listen. Digest. Discuss. #gsd #germanshepherdsoftiktok #dogsoftiktok #germanshepherd #foryoupage

♬ original sound - Major Speaks

Major the German Shepherd has a lot of very big feelings. He likes to have things his way, and when he can't, he likes to let you know how he feels about it! He never stops yapping. Some of his biggest triggers are:

  1. Something is in his way.
  2. He's hungry.
  3. No one has given him pets for two minutes or more
  4. He has formed a thought (rare).

Major likes to live life on the edge. He shouts all the time, and he loves to go on walks and meet new dogs. He believes his words are inspirational to all!

Related: Newborn German Shepherd Puppy’s ‘Full Bark’ Is Just Too Perfect

Most German Shepherds have a few different vocalizations, but Major's are special. He sounds exactly like someone taking a squeegee to a window, or like when you're wiping down a mirror.

It never stops, either. He pulls out this noise all day long, and even when the day is done and it's time for bed:

@major_speaks

Stop scrolling! I have something very important to tell you. #gsd #germanshepherdsoftiktok #dogsoftiktok #cutedog #foryoupage

♬ original sound - Major Speaks

Someone in the comments called this, "just yeeping and yorping," and that is exactly what it is. Neither of those are words, but words really can't describe Major at all.

German Shepherds Are Incredible Noisy

If you want a quiet dog, back away very slowly. This is not the breed for you. While GSDs can be trained to be relatively quiet in terms of barking, you're going to have a hard time getting them to shut up.

German Shepherds have several different vocalizations, and they all mean different things! There's:

  1. Barking.
  2. "Chuffing."
  3. Whining.
  4. Screeching.
  5. Growling.
  6. Grumbling.
  7. Rumbling.

Most of them, in one way or another, translate to something being amiss. These famously mouthy dogs love to whine, so you have to be careful; it can be hard to tell when they're in pain. Major is fine, though: he's just a squeaky boy!

Teen's Kind Gesture After Rescuing Scared Dog From Freezing Pond Is Everything

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 10:50am

Heroes don't always wear capes—sometimes they wear Meta glasses and paddle kayaks into frozen ponds.

Hugh Pinneo, an 18-year-old senior at Grassfield High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, became an instant hero when he rescued a neighbor's dog from icy water on a Friday afternoon. But it wasn't just the daring rescue that captured hearts—it was what he did next.

The ordeal began when Hugh's mother heard splashing behind their home near Cedar Road and Bells Mill Road. Thinking it was geese, she quickly realized a dog was struggling in the freezing pond. She alerted her son, who grabbed a coat and rushed to their family kayak.

The entire rescue was captured on Hugh's Meta glasses, providing a remarkable first-person view of the life-saving moment. The footage shows him paddling through icy water, his hands turning bright red from the extreme cold as he reached the terrified dog.

"Hey, I got you. I got you," Hugh reassures the shaking animal as he pulls him into the kayak. "I know you're scared. I'm scared, too."

Then came the gesture that broke the internet: Hugh removed his own jacket and wrapped the freezing dog in it, leaving himself in just a T-shirt in the brutal cold.

The comment section overflowed with emotion. "He gave the dog his coat 😭❤️❤️ I hope his parents are proud to have raised such a selfless gentleman," wrote one tearful viewer.

"When he gave him his jacket I lost it 😭... your mama raised you right?" added another fan.

The blessing wishes poured in: "May both sides of his pillow forever be cool 🏆🤝👏🏼👏🏼," and "He has a beautiful soul, may his life be blessed with everything he deserves ❤️."

Why Hugh Pinneo's Rescue Shows True Compassion for Animals

Hugh later explained his mindset: "When my mom told me a dog was drowning, I was already halfway out the door. I didn't really think about the risk or the cold—in the moment, I just realized if I'm the one who can help, I'm the one who's gotta go."

He added that once aboard, the dog "was shaking so hard. I wrapped him in my jacket. I was in a T-shirt. I didn't really notice the cold. I was focused on keeping him inside the kayak and not tipping over."

Irish Setter's Intense Tail Wags Over Grandad Coming Home Could Alter the Earth's Rotation

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 10:34am

I love all types of animals, but I am willing to admit that there is no animal on earth who makes for a better welcoming committee than a dog. There's something about how happy they are to see you every single time you walk in the door that just never gets old — and how much fun it is to watch them when they realize they're about to see another one of their favorite people.

In the video below, Riva the Irish Setter is about to see her grandad, and she's so happy she's just about to lose it (and by "it" I mean that wagging tail).

@kloestiktok0

The noise she makes is too cute 🥹

♬ original sound - Kloe & Riva 🖤

This footage shared over the weekend on TikTok from @kloestiktok0 shows Riva posted up at the window, wagging the entire back of her body and making the most adorable noise when she realized her granddad had arrived. He most definitely has to be one of her favorite people.

And seeing Granddad walk up to the window and wag back? Priceless.

He just better get inside before poor Riva explodes!

Related: These Setter Dog Breeds Are Sunshine in Fur Form, Experts Say

The Beauty of the Full Body Wag

Some dogs get so excited to see someone (or, you know, their food bowl, if they're my dog) that simply wagging their tails isn't enough — they've gotta do the full body wag the way that Riva does when she sees her grandpa!

The good news? Not only is this normal, but it's also a sign that your dog is having a really happy moment, which means you must be doing something right as their human!

As PetMD points out, a fast, upward-pointed wag is a sign that your dog is very excited or very happy about something, while lower wags can point to anxiety or unhappiness in a certain situation, but fortunately, that isn't what's going on here.

The outlet also noted that the full body wag is more common in breeds with small or nubby tails, though that doesn't seem to be the case for Riva. She's just really, really excited to see one of her favorite people... what could be better than that?

Fate of Aussie Pup in Wheelchair Who Stole Hearts at Puppy Bowl Has Fans Sobbing

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 10:23am

I watched this year’s Puppy Bowl with my dog Lola snoring beside me, and one Aussie puppy in a wheelchair absolutely stole the field. Her name was Teigan, and you could see pure joy in every zoom down the turf in her cart.

Teigan, who played for Team Fluff, came from Perfect Imperfections Dog Rescue in Connecticut. She was born with neurological challenges and a curved spine, and she’d already beaten pneumonia once before the Puppy Bowl cameras ever showed up. With help from K9 Karts, she got that bright blue wheelchair, and when she rolled onto the field, she became the star of every replay.

@melindaeats

Omg I f sobbing #superbowl #puppybowl #omg #sobbing #puppy

♬ original sound - melindaeats

What undid me is knowing Teigan died three months before Puppy Bowl XXII aired, after another bout of pneumonia. Her rescue called seeing her on screen “bittersweet,” and that feels exactly right: she’s gone, but millions of people are meeting her for the first time and falling for a dog whose body never limited her spirit.

This year’s Puppy Bowl featured a record number of specially abled dogs, from wheelchair users to pups who are deaf or visually impaired. It’s more than cute TV; it’s a reminder that every kind of body deserves a chance to be chosen.

I keep thinking about my own late rescue dog, Emmie, who also used wheels after she lost the use of her legs. Caring for her was tender and hard all at once. Watching Teigan barrel down that tiny field felt like a love letter to dogs like her. Lola would probably bark at the screen and then trot off with one of Emmie’s old toys, completely unaware of how perfectly she is helping my heart heal.

Why “Perfectly Imperfect” Dogs Matter

Teigan’s story is bigger than one game. At a time when U.S. shelters take in roughly 5.8 million animals a year and still see hundreds of thousands euthanized, dogs with medical or mobility needs are often the last chosen and the first at risk. Yet they’re also the ones who can turn a home into a classroom in courage and joy.

If Teigan has you crying in the best way, let that feeling move your feet. Maybe it looks like fostering a senior or special-needs pup, or finally adopting the dog you keep visiting online. The ASPCA’s shelter resources and guidance on how to help—through adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating—are a helpful starting point if your heart is ready but your brain is nervous. Or maybe it’s supporting rescues that focus on animals who need extra help to get their second chance.

Teigan didn’t live long enough to see herself trend, but she did something bigger: she showed the world that rolling, wobbling, “different” dogs belong center stage. The rest of us just have to decide what we’re going to do with the way she made us feel.

British Shorthair Kitten With Caramel Macchiato Coloring Looks Like a Little Hollywood Star

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 10:10am

All pets are beautiful in their own way. I've always had dogs and cats as family members, and every single one has a unique quality that makes them irresistible. For example, I'm convinced my senior Dachshund has the sweetest eyes in the universe. Her Pug brother is a chonky ball of joy with the most adorable facial expressions that would melt anyone's heart. Every fur baby has something special.

This British Shorthair kitten has such a unique, head-turning appearance that followers are wondering if she's real.

View this post on Instagram

In the Instagram video from @british_shorthair_cattery, the pretty kitty being held up to the camera could make anyone do a double-take. Her fluffy, full coat and stunning gray-green eyes were a striking combo. With Calico-like patches of caramel-colored fur, the British Shorthair cat was clearly ready for her close-up.

The fetching feline seemed oblivious to her star qualities and just looked around as she was being modeled to adoring fans. Maybe she's already used to the attention, since the beautiful Brit shorthair patiently waited to complete her screen time.

Followers fell in love with the eye-catching kitten, with some saying she should be on the silver screen.

"Looks like a Hollywood character. So adorable," one remarked.

"What a beautiful potato," another raved.

"Is this lil nugget for real? I love her," a follower gushed.

"Magnifique," someone posted.

British Shorthair Coats Come In 30 Different Varieties

These floofy cats are known for their lush, thick fur. While their striking blue-gray coat color is quite popular, these felines come in a variety of shades including black, white, lilac, cinnamon, fawn, and ginger.

British Shorthairs can have a monochrome coat or, like this kitten, boast some attention-grabbing patterns. Tortoise-patterned British Shorthairs are actually considered very rare.

Many cat lovers consider the British Shorthair as the "teddy bear cat" due to their chubby cheeks, round faces, and rounded ears, giving off those stuffed animal vibes. They can even be groomed to resemble a teddy bear.

Not surprisingly, these cats are popular on social media, with over 5 million posts that have the hashtag #britishshorthair.

With almost 12,000 likes in just one day, this caramel kitty is already a star.

Rescued Pit Bull’s First ‘Girl Time’ Moment Is the Sweetest

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 10:00am

Every dog in the world deserves to live the happiest, longest life they possibly could. Unfortunately, though, that just doesn't happen all the time, but lucky rescues do get a second chance.

One precious Pit Bull's second chance is nothing short of perfect. She went from puppy mill to pampered pup, and in this video, we can clearly see her enjoying every second of it:

Liv and Phoebe are living their best girl lives together, and I love it. Phoebe has never had the chance to be a girl before. She's gone through some rough stuff, including:

  1. Being used by a puppy mill for breeding.
  2. Being cast out onto the streets when she couldn't have more puppies.
  3. Shelter life.

Luckily, she met a girl in her 20s, Liv, and the two of them fell in love at first sight. These days, Phoebe spends her evenings with her mom and her friends, and they love covering her in stickers.

Phoebe has been in her forever home for a while. She's not alone: she has several cat siblings, all of whom are exactly as beautiful as she is. There's a lot of feminine energy in the house.

It truly is Barbie's dreamhouse in there. Phoebe loves to go for walks, snuggle with her mama, and listen to Taylor Swift. She also loves to steal her mom's man, and it definitely works:

Pit Bulls Are Frequent Puppy Mill Victims

Pit Bulls have a harder time existing than just about any dog breed on the planet. There's a terribly negative stigma about them, and they're chronically overbred.

Despite the fact that there are more Pit Bulls in shelters than any other breed, there's a high demand for puppies. People often believe that:

  1. Pit Bull puppies are less likely to be aggressive.
  2. Puppies will be easier.
  3. They can make sure nothing "bad" has happened to their puppy.

These beliefs might not be ill-intended, but they're harmful regardless. Pit Bulls in shelters deserve loving homes, too!

Little Girl's 'GRWM' Video With Bulldog Wins the Internet

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 9:57am

Move over beauty influencers—there's a new "Get Ready With Me" (GRWM) star in town, and she's got a very patient English Bulldog client.

A viral TikTok from life.of.Sid shows a young girl walking viewers through her bulldog Sidney's complete grooming routine, and the adorable duo has the internet absolutely smitten. Posted with the caption "Get ready with my bulldog 🤣," the video showcases impressive pet care skills and the sweetest bond.

"Get ready with me to do my bulldog's makeup routine," she begins, before methodically working through Sidney's needs: face wiping, ear cleaning, and the crucial wrinkle paste application to prevent infections.

"This is really important so they don't get the wrinkles infected," she explains professionally, recruiting her dad as her "assistant" to help hold Sidney's wrinkles up while she works.

The grand finale? A "beauty smell" spray. "This is really important so he doesn't stink like cheese," she declares, spritzing Sidney's belly while he lies completely still.

The comment section overflowed with praise. "I could see this little girl becoming a vet. It's lovely to see she knows what care these dogs need. Well done🥰🥰," wrote one impressed viewer.

"YOUR DAUGHTER IS GIVING HIM THE FULL TREATMENT OF A SPA, AND HE LOVES IT," celebrated another fan.

Several bulldog parents related to the struggle: "My bulldog acts like she's being murdered when I wipe," confessed one commenter, making Sidney's calm cooperation even more remarkable.

Related: Siberian Kitten's Distinct 'Crispy-Crunchy Meows' Will Steal Your Heart

"This is the sweetest thing ever," gushed one viewer, while another demanded, "Please make this a nightly series."

The bond between the pair particularly touched hearts. "The bow 😂 Pampered just how it should be, and their bond❤️," noted one fan.

English Bulldogs Are Known for Being Exceptionally Patient With Children

Sidney's calm demeanor during his spa treatment perfectly demonstrates why English Bulldogs consistently rank among the best kid-friendly dog breeds. Their naturally relaxed temperament, patient nature and gentle spirit make them exceptional companions for children of all ages.

Bulldogs prefer slow-paced play and quiet cuddles over hyperactive energy, creating a safe, predictable environment for kids. Their sturdy build allows them to handle accidental bumps or enthusiastic toddler hugs without issue, while their low energy level means less overwhelming excitement.

Most importantly, Bulldogs form deep, loyal attachments to their "tiny humans," often becoming gentle guardians who intuitively sense when a child needs comfort or companionship.

Sidney's willingness to lie still for wrinkle paste, ear cleaning and belly spray—complete with a bow—proves what bulldog lovers already know: these dogs have endless patience for the children they love.

Pit Bull Who Thinks She's Human Tries To Trade Places With Mom at the Vet

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 9:20am

Anyone who's ever had a pup under the American Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Terrier, American Bully, or other "Pit Bull" dogs knows these three things: They have zero personal space, they can get anything they want when they flash the big, sad, "whale eyes," and 9/10 times, they truly believe they're more like us than other dogs.

Zara, the rescue Pit Bull, is known around the web for "identifying as a human," but a recent clip takes it to another level. During a vet visit for her, the comical girl makes an attempt to switch Mom places—as if it's Mom's appointment—and as a Pittie parent myself, it's oh, so relatable!

A sweet Pit Bull puppy looks up at the camera with curious eyes.

Image via Unsplash

I have to hand it to Zara for just going for it. Vet visits are notoriously stressful events for some pups, so maybe this was her way of pretending she wasn't the only dog in the room. Or, she's a funny one, making light of the situation to self-soothe without the use of an emotional support stuffie. Either way, does your dog do this?

Mom joked she'd love to see the vet's POV as the funny Pit Bull tries to trade her places, but the comments were more entertaining. Though some agreed their pups are the same, a couple noted that theirs get right up into the chairs and sit like humans. I'm telling you—these dogs are hilarious (even when invading your personal space)!

In case you haven't caught on to Zara's ways, she has a whole plethora of silly quirks (also like my Staffy). There may be something to the whole "thinking she's human" thing, whether she's throwing a tantrum or taking Mom's chair at the vet.

Before she'll even consider taking a bath, Mom has to put on her special song, "Car Wash." She needs to make a dramatic entrance, and then, finally, she allows herself to be bathed.

If you can look at Zara's sweet face and tell her she has to get up on the table at the vet instead of Mom's chair, you're better than me because I'd cave and let the vet give me a full check-up while she scrolls my phone. That's fair and normal, right?

Rooster Sets Up Shop in Pile of Sleeping Great Pyrenees Puppies in Beyond Precious Clip

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 9:17am

There are cute farm videos, and then there’s this: a rooster confidently strolling into a pile of sleeping Great Pyrenees puppies like he just clocked in for his shift.

In the TikTok clip, a dozen fluffy LGD (Livestock Guardian Dog) pups are sprawled in a cozy heap, all paws and soft snores. A rooster calmly weaves his way through the puppy pile, stepping over tails and tummies with total confidence. The wild part? The puppies barely react. A few slowly blink awake, one lifts a head, another wiggles an ear—but no chaos, no chasing, no barking. Just sleepy, respectful coexistence.

@theurbanladybug

Replying to @ALYSE 🦋 haha, yes mamm, when your Livestock Guardian pup comes with 12 weeks of direct livestock exposure / training. Yes, it is a non-negotiable that we keep our LGD puppies a minimum 4 weeks longer than most breeders. This is to ensure they get as much livestock exposure and training from their working parents and from us as possible before they head off to their new farms. We take so much pride in the hours upon hours of training and exposure we put into our LGD pups every single day. This is our second litter ever but we truly feel like we are doing every possible thing to ensure we are breeding responsibly while also fulfilling such a great need in our extensively rural area. All of these pups have been reserved but if anyone is interested in being added to our 2027 litter waitlist, please visit: https://www.theurbanladybug.com/lgd-reservation-waitlist #livestockgaurdiandog #lgd #workingdogs #greatpyreneesxanatolian #lgdpups

♬ original sound - The Urban Ladybug Farm

That peaceful moment is not an accident.

In the caption, the breeder explains that when you get one of their LGD pups, you’re not just getting a cute fluffball—you’re getting a working dog with 12 weeks of direct livestock exposure and training under their belt (er, collar). While many breeders send puppies home at 8 weeks, they insist on keeping theirs for a minimum of four extra weeks. Why? To make sure those dogs aren’t just genetically suited for farm life—they’re actually prepared for it.

Every day, these Great Pyrenees pups are around livestock: animals like chickens and roosters, the very creatures they’ll grow up to guard. They get exposure, supervision, and structured training from their working parents and their humans. The breeder talks about spending hours upon hours on this process and taking real pride in doing everything possible to breed responsibly while meeting a huge need in their very rural community.

View this post on Instagram

That one short video—one rooster, a pile of pups, and zero drama—is proof their work is paying off. You’re not just seeing “aww, cute farm chaos.” You’re watching future working dogs already learning that poultry is not prey, but part of the family they’ll protect.

It’s adorable, but it’s also the blueprint for safer barns, calmer flocks, and fewer heartaches for small farms depending on good guardians.

Raising Great Pyrenees Puppies to Be Calm, Confident Guardians

What looks like a rooster using puppies as a feathered lounge chair is actually a sign of excellent LGD foundations. Great Pyrenees and other guardian breeds need early, positive exposure to livestock so they learn to see animals like chickens, goats, and sheep as “their” flock, not toys or threats. The Great Pyrenees Club of America emphasizes that responsible breeding and early training—especially supervised time with stock and guidance from experienced working parents—are key to raising reliable guardians who stay calm instead of reactive around vulnerable animals.

So while we’re all melting over one bossy rooster and a pile of fluffy farm clouds, this clip is also a quiet flex: this is what it looks like when breeders go the extra mile to set both pups and their future farms up for success—because if my dog Lola were in that scene, there would 100% be feathers flying instead of this peaceful little barnyard cuddle session.

Duck Chats Up Dachshund Sibling Like She's Spilling All the Household Tea

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 9:00am

Dachshunds are notorious troublemakers. They love to cause problems, but they're so iconic that there's just no way to stay mad! Families who have them always say they can't get enough.

In one family, it's actually not the Dachshund doing most of the instigating. Recently, their sausage dog was minding his own business when his duck sister came up to him and started spilling all the tea:

@meetrufus

Rosie is such a chatter box🎤 #pets #ducks #cuteducks #animals #farm

♬ original sound - Ducks & Dachshund🦆🐶

Rosie the Duck is my kind of bird. She's very committed to staying in everyone's business! If the cops were at her neighbor's house, I bet she'd be out sweeping the driveway to see what's up.

Rosie lives with several other ducks, Milo, and the family cat. The ducks do not live inside the house, but they do get to come in when it's:

  • Too cold outside.
  • A special day.

Rosie gets along well with everyone, but it's really her and Milo against the world. She goes running to him whenever something wild happens!

In this video, Milo doesn't seem particularly interested in the gossip Rosie is selling. However, she's way too eager to tell him, so he's being a good brother and letting her have fun.

Don't worry: they go back and forth. One is always annoying the other! Just a few days before this, Milo was trying to square up with his sister:

Mutually annoying siblings are the best kind of siblings. I would know; I have two siblings. We, collectively, are the worst.

Dachshunds Can Be Aggressive

Dachshunds are one of the most iconic dog breeds of all time, but they're also one of the most challenging. They're deceptively small and seemingly easy to handle, when in reality, Dachshunds are:

  1. Stubborn.
  2. Tough to train.
  3. Great at squeezing into spaces they shouldn't.
  4. Big into digging.

Dachshunds can be standoffish with other pets, too: good training and consistency is key to helping them develop healthy relationships with other pets in your home. Careful, though. They might be talking about you!

Tuxedo Cat’s Reverse Coloring Makes Him Look Constantly in Shock

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 8:55am

Mickey was just minding his business on the cat tree. Grooming. Vibing. Doing normal cat things. And then he suddenly stops mid-lick and stares straight ahead like he just saw something the rest of us cannot see.

The reason it hits so hard is the coloring. Instead of the classic black tuxedo with neat little white accents, Mickey is mostly white with bold black spots and one perfectly placed black blob covering his eyes, nose, and mouth. It looks like someone hit invert on a Tuxedo cat and then added dramatic eyeliner. The result? Permanently startled. Eternally shocked. Slightly lemur coded. I love him.

The hilariously cute clip was shared by @mickeyginocats, and people cannot get enough of his reverse pattern. “Somehow the tuxedo is reversed in every place you’d think it would be,” one person wrote. Another asked, “So is he black with white stripes or white with black stripes?” Someone else said, “He looks like a lemur,” while another added, “I’ve never seen a cat look like this. I love it.”

Honestly, I don't have a Tuxedo cat in my house. We have two orange boys and a Calico, and they groom like it's their full-time job. Meatball, our longhaired Maine Coon, absolutely requires brushing, or he turns into a walking tumbleweed. He also attacks the brush like it personally offended him, which feels unfair since I am trying to help him. Mickey, however, just grooms peacefully until he glitches into thousand-yard stare mode.

It is art. It is comedy. It is reverse-backwards-flipped Tuxedo excellence.

Mickey’s look is so unique that it feels like the perfect excuse to learn a little more about Tuxedo cats.

Tuxedo is not a breed. It is a color pattern.

They can appear in many breeds, including Maine Coon and British Shorthair.

The pattern is caused by white-spotting genes.

Many Tuxedo cats are known for bold personalities.

No two Tuxedo patterns are ever exactly alike, which is why Mickey’s reverse look feels so unique.

Siberian Kitten's Distinct 'Crispy-Crunchy Meows' Will Steal Your Heart

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 8:37am

Some kittens have soft, delicate meows. Baby Teddy the Siberian kitten? His vocalizations sound like the world's most adorable breakfast cereal.

A viral TikTok from Mimi and Teddy shows the tiny fluffball responding to his cat mom with what fans are calling "crispy-crunchy meows"—a unique combination of purrs and meows that has the internet absolutely smitten. Posted with the caption "So small and so precious 🥹," the video captures Teddy's distinct vocal personality.

As his human talks to him, Teddy responds with the cutest squeaks, purrs and crackly meows that sound simultaneously crispy and precious.

The comment section melted into a puddle of adoration. "My heart just melted," confessed one viewer, while another exclaimed, "OMG the purrs and meowing 😍😍😍😍😍😍."

"The little floofy baby, I want her to snuggle 🥰," gushed one fan, while another noted, "That coat color is amazing!"

The creative descriptions kept coming. "The floof is floofing. Purr. Meow," wrote one delighted commenter, perfectly capturing Teddy's fluffy magnificence.

Others simply couldn't contain their excitement: "SUCH A CUTIE PIE! AWWWWW!" and, "So CUUUUUUUTE 🥰!"

Why Do Cats Purr and Meow Like Baby Teddy?

Teddy's chatty nature demonstrates typical kitten behavior. Kittens can purr as young as two days old, often purring while nursing from their mother. This vocalization becomes a lifelong communication tool.

Cats purr for multiple reasons beyond simple contentment. While a purring kitten often signals happiness—especially when greeting their humans or soliciting attention—cats also purr when anxious, sick or seeking comfort. The key is observing body language alongside the sound.

Related: Sleeping Cats' Perfectly-Timed Reaction to Automatic Feeder Going Off Will Crack You Up

Purring is a voluntary vocalization produced with the mouth closed. During breathing, air passes over the vocal folds, creating a continuous vibration that produces that distinctive motor-like sound. Cats can maintain this purr while both inhaling and exhaling.

Meowing, meanwhile, is primarily how cats communicate with humans rather than other cats. Kittens meow to their mothers, but adult cats reserve most meowing for their human companions—developing unique vocalizations to express different needs.

Teddy's "crispy-crunchy" quality likely comes from his tiny kitten vocal cords still developing, combined with his enthusiastic communication style. Siberian cats are known for being social, playful and affectionate, making them naturally vocal companions.

Whether Teddy's asking for snuggles, expressing contentment or simply enjoying conversation with his human, those distinctive meows have won the internet's heart—one crispy-crunchy vocalization at a time.

Wobbly Rescue Cat Topples Over With Excitement Over First Meows

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 8:20am

Rescuing a cat with special needs means progress may look a little different than it would for a neurotypical kitty. Celebrating the small wins is important, and sometimes downright adorable.

Baby Corn is a special-needs rescue cat who's come a long way since being the runt of his litter. Now, this special wobbly kitty is showing off his first meows, and he's so excited about it, he can't stand up straight!

Closeup of a wide-eyed Black Cat.

Baby Corn has had my heart from the first post. I don't consider him "special needs" so much as he is just a little guy spreading joy wherever he goes. After months of watching from afar, it's music to my ears to finally hear his crispy meow (volume up)!

He meows. #babycorncat #wobblycat #cerebellarhypoplasia #dwarfcat #cat

There's so much to unpack in such a short video because, as always, Corn brings the cuteness overload like no other. If it's not the wobbly boy going about his business while walking toward Mom, it's the falling over at the mere sight of Dad. He literally can't contain his joy, toppling over for those he loves (be still, my heart)!

It's not just me who is obsessed with the sweet cat; I'm in good company. Everyone loves his wobbly ways.

"He meows EXACTLY like I expected, TBH," one fan wrote. "The best way to start the day, seeing Baby Corn," another praised. "He's so scary with his rawr," another added.

Baby Corn Is a Movement

Though Mom Christine Ha (@whiskstowhiskers) has a long history of fostering cats, Baby Corn stole everyone's hearts instantly. Between his "little cicada meows," his megaphone mouth, and gigantic eyes half the size of his head, he's, as one person described, "the goodest wobbliest baby," and I concur!

For a cat once smaller than a soda can, Corn sure is bringing it. He recently even gave catnip a go, and it was a hit. He's got some cool new breakdancing moves because of it!

Cockatoo's Sweet Happiness Over New Custom Outfit Is Too Cute to Resist

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 8:00am

Everyone loves a new outfit, right? There's no better feeling than when you have some fresh new clothes to show off to all of your friends. Our pets can feel this, too; that's why there are so many clothing options for them!

One Cockatoo really lucked out in the wardrobe department. Her mom makes outfits for her and her siblings, and they're really cool. Her new one is custom and very spring-forward:

@alayner11

New outfit day for Abbie! I used scrap fabric to put this one together. It’s very soft, and she seems to love it! You can check us out on Etsy! Abby’s Parrot Boutique! The link is in my bio. ♬ original sound - Alayne & Abbie 🧡🤍

Alayne and Abbie are a match made in heaven. Abbie loves and needs clothes, and Alayne makes them. Abbie and her siblings get new outfits for every season! Their mom even sells them sometimes.

Abbie actually really needs her outfits: she's a feather plucker. As a rescue, she's picked up some pretty severe bad habits. The clothes help:

  • Keep a distance between her and her feathers.
  • Provide a way for fresh wounds to heal and stay clean.
  • Keep her bare chest warm.

She has a sibling (also a Moluccan Cockatoo) who has the same issues. Both of them love their clothes!

Related: Cockatoo’s ‘Fashion Show’ Complete with Hair Flip Is a Real Runway Slay

Her new mom provides plenty of structure and opportunity for Abbie to thrive, and she does. Unfortunately, she spent so long plucking to self-soothe that she simply continues to do it.

Don't worry, though; her mom is fully aware of that. In addition to the clothes (with a special middle piece to prevent plucking), Abbie receives plenty of wound care and regular vet checkups. Mostly, though, the outfits:

I love it when people put their pets in matching outfits. Even better, Alayne makes a lot of her birds' clothes from scrap fabric. No waste!

Cockatoos Can Love Clothes

Whether a pet likes clothes will always come down strictly to personal preference. Clothing can provide comfort and be a necessary safety measure, but it needs to fit well. Clothing should be:

  1. Not too tight around the neck or chest.
  2. Not covering their bottoms.
  3. Not covering their feet.
  4. Lightweight and breathable.

Ideally, you should start a Cockatoo in clothes when they're young. Since so many are rescues, though, taking it slow and making sure they're comfortable works just as well!

Tiny Bichon Has Such an Epic Nap, Her Entire Face Is Completely Smooshed

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 7:55am

There are naps… and then there are naps that change your whole face structure and give you an entirely new hairstyle.

This tiny senior Bichon named Spicy just achieved legendary snooze status, and when she wakes up, half her little face is completely smooshed, as if she pressed it into another dimension. Her smile is lopsided. Her tongue is slightly out. It is the exact expression you make when the nap hits so hard you forget what year it is.

@spicy.thedog

Smooshed face? Good nap. Smooshed face AND tongue?! Amaaazing nap 🐶 #littledog #bichon

♬ Cena Engraçada e Inusitada - HarmonicoHCO

@spicy.thedog uploaded the precious video to TikTok, and the caption reads, “When your dog wakes up with the half-smoosh face and her tongue hanging out, you know it was a good nap.”

And lissssssen. That is science.

Related: Golden Retriever 'Trying to Figure Out Where He Is' After Long Nap Is All of Us

Spicy blinks awake with one cheek flattened and that dreamy, crooked grin that says she just had the deepest sleep of her life. The comments were immediate. “We love a good smoosh face,” one person wrote. Another added, “I love that face. I wish I could nap like my pup.” Someone else said, “Awww! Such a sweet face! I wish I could sleep like that! I’m exhausted!” One commenter perfectly described it as “the derp face,” which is honestly accurate. Another guessed she was probably dreaming about yummy treats, which feels right.

It's freezing where I live right now, the kind of cold that makes you want to cancel everything and hibernate. All I want to do is curl up under a blanket with our cats and our Pomeranian, Kingston, and fully commit to a face-smooshing nap. Senior dog energy in winter just makes sense. Cozy. Warm. No responsibilities. Just vibes.

Spicy is living the dream, and I respect it.

Senior dogs actually need more sleep than younger dogs. While adult dogs typically sleep around 12 to 14 hours a day, older dogs can easily clock 16 to 18 hours, depending on their health and activity level.

Their bodies are working harder, their joints may be stiffer, and they simply need more recovery time. As long as your senior dog is still eating, interacting, and moving comfortably when awake, those epic naps are usually completely normal.

In Spicy’s case, that smooshed face is just proof she is doing senior dog life exactly right.

Morning Routine of 9 Dachshunds and a Great Dane Is Beautiful Chaos

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 7:20am

If you thought your morning routine was chaotic, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Imagine if you had eight Dachshunds, one Puggle mix named Penny, a Great Dane, and a cat.

Well, that is this creator's reality, and though most of her days are chaotic with that barnyard of animals, their morning routine may take the cake.

Somehow, all these dogs fit into their mom's bed (though there seems to be no room for her anymore), and then it is suddenly time to wake up.

The barking commences!

They all jump out of bed, and then it is a mad dash to the door to head out to the yard.

The Great Dane, whose name is Harley, showed a bit more reserve than the Dachshunds, but once she got outside, she was running and galloping all over.

Of course, after bathroom and exercise, now it is time for the most exciting part of the day: BREAKFAST!

It is pretty amazing to see this army of dogs waiting patiently, sitting in a row as their mom prepares each of their meals in beautiful strawberry-and-orange bowls.

It looks like most of the dogs get kibble and a piece of fish to start the day!

The cat gets her own food in a cat bowl, and one of the Dachshunds, Tubby, who has some urinary issues, also gets a special diet.

Harley gets her meal in one of those big maze bowls.

Now the pups are getting a little less patient and starting to paw at Mom. Don't worry, everyone! Breakfast is coming!

Somehow, after all that, their mom has energy to work out in her garage.

She brings out one of the Dachshunds to sit in a chair in the sun and watch her do squats.

After her session, it is time for the dogs to exercise!

Back out in the yard they go, and this time with a big neon green soccer ball to chase!

Everyone is running and digging holes, and there is even a pool for the Dachshunds to swim in (it is more of a wading pool for Harley).

When they come in at the end, the ball has been deflated, but everyone has gotten some good energy out!

Maybe it will minimize the barking (but probably not).

@yunabugs

Still getting used to the pony’s size over here! 😅

♬ original sound - Onyx Harley, the Great Dane, Has Joined the Family of 9 Dachshunds

The Great Dane, whose name is Harley, is a new addition to the family.

She started as a senior foster dog but has now been adopted by the family after they saw she was so gentle and chill with the little dogs, even the ones who had been afraid of big dogs in the past.

The mom of the nine little dogs talked in another video about how she was a bit concerned if all the dogs would mesh with Harley, but they worked on it, and now she is part of all the chaos!

English Labrador Puppy Makes Hiccup Sound In His Sleep and It's the Sweetest

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 7:10am

My dogs both "talk" in their sleep. Though she's a very sound sleeper, my senior Dachshund sort of whines and even lets out little woofs when she's napping. Her Pug brother makes a whole symphony of noises when he's catching some Zs and even moves his paws, like he's dreaming about chasing something or running away from something (probably a squirrel). Somehow, they both manage to be adorable when they're awake and when they're asleep.

Hank the English Labrador puppy is also quite vocal when he dozes off, though he makes a different sort of sleep sound.

@hanktheenglishlab

Hank loves to bark when he naps! Almost always accompanied by running feet 😂🧐 Drop your guesses on what he’s dreaming about! 👇🏼👇🏼#puppytiktok #puppy #puppylife #fyp #dogsoftiktok

♬ original sound - Hank the English Lab

In the TikTok from @hanktheenglishlab, the precious puppy was sleeping on the couch but was anything but peaceful. Hank was making an adorable noise that sounded exactly like a hiccup. It was kind of a squeal, a little bit of a woof, with a movement that added to the cuteness. The caption called them "barks", but that may be a misclassification.

"Hank loves to bark when he naps! Almost always accompanied by running feet," the caption explained.

With each little sound, Hank's entire body jolted as if he were actually hiccupping. Did he dream about having a big meal followed by indigestion? Or did he swallow too much air while in REM sleep? The possibilities of what prompted the adorable noise were endless.

Followers weighed in on potential dream scenarios that caused Hank's animated vocals and movements.

"Chasing rabbits," one suggested.

"He’s playing as Kirby in a Smash Bros dream," another remarked.

"Dreaming about his next lick mat," someone posted.

Signs Your Dog Is Dreaming

A dog's sleep cycle lasts approximately 20 minutes. Six of those minutes are usually in REM sleep, when dreaming occurs. Signs of this phase include:

  • Closed eyes, but rapidly moving back and forth
  • Rapid, shallow, and irregular breathing
  • Twitching muscles, and legs may be moving
  • Vocal sounds like barking, whining, or crying

Related: Senior Labrador Meets New Puppy Sister and Pure Sweetness Results

Pet parents get tempted to wake up their dog when they observe these signs, assuming their fur baby is having a nightmare. Yet those sounds and movements your pooch is displaying could actually be from a pleasant dream.

The motto "let sleeping dogs lie" is best to follow, since interrupting your pooch's sleep hinders their cognitive abilities and, just like with humans, can make them a bit grumpy.

Hank's little sleep hiccups didn't appear to be a sign of distress, so hopefully his parents let him enjoy his REM phase.

Picky Kitty Only Has Eyes for His Auntie, and His Reaction Is the Best

Mon, 02/09/2026 - 7:00am

TikTok viewers are loving a rescue cat named Cowboy who is very picky about the people he allows into his inner circle. So far, it includes his mom and one other person, her roommate, who has Cowboy jumping for joy every time she comes and goes.

In this video montage, Cowboy enthusiastically bids the roommate farewell as she leaves each day by jumping up to meet her eye-to-eye through the glass door. He also waits patiently for her to return, tracking her every move until she enters the house. Based on her huge smiles, it must feel good to be adored this much by such a frisky and finicky feline.

Playing Favorites, Feline Style

Like dogs, cats have favorite people. But unlike dogs, who tend to look for a leader, cats favor the person(s) they can trust to provide them with basic needs like food and comfort.

It stands to reason that cats will gravitate toward the people who feed them, whether it be regular meals or occasional treats. Bonding goes beyond food, though. Cats choose the human who gives them positive experiences — playtime, brushing, or whatever they enjoy. Some cats love being held, others prefer personal space, so paying attention matters. If your cat purrs, rubs against you, or sticks close, you’re doing it right.

Personality also plays a role. Cats typically prefer calm, predictable people who move slowly, speak softly, and respect their boundaries. Gentle interaction, interactive toys, and a relaxed vibe go a long way — and before you know it, you may earn that coveted “favorite human” status.

Winning over a cat isn’t about forcing affection — it’s about earning trust. If you want to move up the household rankings, these simple habits make a big difference. Kittens handled gently during their first few weeks tend to bond with people more easily. Older or shy cats can still warm up — it just takes time and consistency.

Daily play, enrichment toys, and gentle chin or ear scratches help release feel-good hormones and strengthen your bond. But respect boundaries: most cats don’t love belly rubs, paw grabs, or being disturbed while sleeping. If they walk away, let them. Ignoring their signals is the fastest way to lose points.

Regular feeding and predictable interaction build trust. To a cat, reliability equals safety — and safety equals favorite human status.
