Sticky Bandit Golden Retriever Gets a Rise Out of Mom With His Latest Haul

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 3:55pm

There's something comforting to a dog when they "retriever" an item and take it to their bed for safekeeping. Usually, it's something normal, like a stuffie or a blanket.

One dog named Duke doesn't do normal. The thieving Golden Retriever has been choosing different items from around the house since joining his new family, and each is funnier than the last. His latest choice is something even Mom didn't expect.

Closeup of a Golden Retriever.

Image via Unsplan

When the house is a free flea market, Duke has options. One day, it might be an emotional support lamp, and the next, it could be a trash can, inspiring his new pup sister Leona to steal things of her own. That's the beauty of this boy—you never know what he'll pick!

This is a new one for Duke. The entire pile. #funnydogs #funnydogsoftiktok #goldenretriever #seniordog #rescuedogsoftiktok

The particular Golden Retriever chooses items based on how he's feeling that day, so it looks like he felt like paying bills. A flabbergasted Mom noted this is a new one for the pup, despite his past choice of books and other various papers.

He may have a bit of a hoarding issue due to his past, but I think sometimes he enjoys getting Mom worked up, as any comedian would. It's like the time he fetched a bottle of bubbly and gently carried it to bed as if he was planning to celebrate New Year's Eve.

Though he's been in his forever home nearly two years, it's still a daily thing, and we're all the better for getting to see it!

Duke Is a Fan Favorite for Good Reason

When you have an affinity for stealing weird things, people are going to root for you. This boy garnered an impressive online following in the short time since the first video popped off in November 2025.

The one that started it all showed Duke taking fine china to his bed, and it's pretty precious to watch. If you need to hear a soothing voice, Mom isn't only Duke's safe place to land, but ours, too. Fans love seeing what Duke chooses next (me included)!

"The anticipation of waiting to see what Duke comes out with is priceless," one fan wrote. "I love waiting to see what Duke brings out. He's very specific in his choices," another shared. Another fan wrote, "He is very special and a particular collector."

@lifewithduke2025

In the 19 months since ce we adopted Duke, he has never broken anything! He is so gentle with these items! Now Mom, on the other hand has! 🤣🤣💕#goldenretriever #goldenretrieverlife #seniordogsoftiktok #funnydogs #rescuedogs

Hopefully, that fulfills your Duke fix, at least until tomorrow. I can't wait to see what he takes that gets a rise out of Mom next!

Petco's Adorable New Valentine Cat Scratcher Is Chef's-Kiss Cute

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 3:42pm

Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Valentine’s Day is a special time when we show our loved ones just how much we care, but sometimes shopping for a distinctive gift is challenging—and our pets are no exception. But after lickable treats, jingle bell balls and feathers on a fishing line, what’s a pet parent to do for that extra-special something? Petco’s got your answer in the bag (or, well, the box).

Show your cat some love this Valentine’s Day with Petco's Kissing Booth Cat Scratch Condo. It’s the perfect place to smother your kitty with kisses, and multiple openings in the 14-inch cube allow your pet to see who lines up for some extra lovin’.

The bright Valentine motif frames your feline for flawless photos too. It's like you have a personal photo booth right in your own home. You'll be Insta-ready all year round to display your cat's cuteness.

The cardboard scratcher floor in the cat condo keeps your kitty's claws away from your favorite easy chair. Catnip is included to draw attention to the scratcher, and go ahead and break out those feathers on a fishing line for some added excitement and fun. You know your cat will love it.

In terms of care, this product is spot clean only and should only be used indoors in dry spaces. And when it comes to assembly, customers agree the playfully designed cardboard condo is easy to put together. “Make sure to put the scratcher inside before you seal all the corners,” wrote one reviewer.

Why Cats Scratch

Cats need to scratch for a number of reasons, such as sharpening their claws, stretching their bodies and establishing their territory. That’s why it's especially important to have appropriate places for indoor cats to scratch. Otherwise, there goes that designer sofa (or carpet...or curtains). If your cat is scratching where they shouldn't be, you can try putting scratching posts where they're scratching to redirect them to something fun they can actually play with.

Having a variety of scratching pads and posts offers a safe place for cats to scratch to their heart’s content. A good scratching post may use cardboard, sisal or wood (or a mix of materials) to keep kitties engaged, and catnip or pheromones can help enhance the attraction.

Redirecting to appropriate scratching sites, along with making sure your pet gets a healthy diet, plenty of exercise, play and social time, will ensure a happy pet and a happy home—and a cute Valentine's Day-themed cat scratcher never hurts either.

Here’s How to Create an 'Adorable' DIY Valentine’s Photo Shoot for Your Pup

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 2:50pm

Nothing cements a holiday quite like a photo shoot. It's a great way to create memories and share them with friends and family. Themed photoshoots are also a great way to bond with your pet while doing something fun.

Thankfully, photoshoots don't have to be all that complicated, either. Valentine's Day is a fabulous holiday for celebrating just how much you care about your pet. While most of us get our pets special treats and maybe a new toy or scratcher, this dog dad and mom serve up some fabulous tips for a simple, love-filled Valentine's Day photo session that you and your pet will remember for years to come.

How to Create an Adorable DIY Pet Photo Shoot @mr.milobug

When ‘stop and smell the roses’ is taken literally… #cutedog #dogsoftiktok #dogmom #photoshoot #dogphotography

♬ original sound - milo

Milo's doggie parents took to his TikTok account, Mr. Milobug, to share just how easy it is to create lasting memories with your pup. And really, you only need a few items. Grab up some rose petals, posterboard, fishing line and roses and get to work.

First, set the posterboard up as a backdrop. Sprinkle rose petals all around the base, either with your pet in position or before you have them sit on the board. If you have a good boy like Milo, you can do it while your pup sits there. If you have a pup like mine who would likely jump around and try to eat the petals as they fall, you may want to scatter the base layer before hand.

Tie some fishing line around the base of rose stems so the blossoms hang downwards. You can attach the fishing line to a piece of cardboard for ease of use by taking pieces of tape and attaching them on a random pattern.

Related: PetSmart Is Throwing a Pawsitively Adorable Party to Celebrate Your Fur-Ever Valentine

Dangle the board over your pups head and have someone else capture photos of your pups face and their reactions to the flowers. If you don't have a second set of hands, you can always set the camera up on a tripod and use the timer feature to capture candid images, or you can use a wireless remote to snap some adorable shots.

You can even get in the image with your pup if you'd like. My favorite shot of Milo is him sniffing the rose. It's absolutely endearing. Though, all of his pictures are pretty darn cute, and his fans agree. Many chimed in the how "adorable" and "cute" he looked, while others dropped equally delightful Valentine's Day-themed photos of their pups in the comments. And let me tell you, there are some pretty good looking pups out there!

One fan laments, "I want to do this but there’s 100% chance my dog will eat the roses." Same, girl, same. My German Shepherd has zero chill and would think we are adding something new to his snack menu. RIP to the roses. But, I can 100% live vicariously through these precious photos from content creators whose pups aren't totally crazy.

Smithsonian Zoo’s New Baby Elephant Is Too Adorable for Words

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 2:42pm

There’s nothing cuter than a baby, especially the four-legged kind. The latest birth that has us excited is the newest addition to the Smithsonian Zoo: a baby elephant.

The Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute (NZCBI) celebrated the birth of an adorable, healthy, female Asian elephant on Feb. 2. The not-so-little tyke weighed in at 308 pounds and stood 38.5 inches tall.

🐾 SIGN UP to get "pawsitivity" delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends along with expert advice from veterinarians and pet trainers 🐾

With less than 50,000 Asian elephants in the wild, every baby elephant born is important to the survival and conservation of the species. The Smithsonian zookeepers said they're happy there’s one more elephant in the world, representing a hopeful future—and they'd been waiting a long time for a new baby to join those numbers. “After waiting nearly 25 years for an Asian elephant calf, this birth fills us with profound joy,” said Brandie Smith, the John and Adrienne Mars Director of NZCBI.

Your Can Help Name the Baby Elephant

To help raise money for endangered Asian elephants, the zoo is hosting a special online fundraiser with a fun twist: it's giving the public a chance to help name the new baby elephant by casting votes between four options.

Related: Hogle Zoo’s Newest Resident Has Arrived—and the Photos of This New Baby Giraffe Are Melting Hearts

The fundraiser ends at noon on Friday, Feb. 13, so get your votes in and counted before it's too late. Donations of $5 or more are accepted through the zoo’s website. There, you can track how the votes are shaping up and what name is in the lead, and the name with the most donations will be the winner. Each dollar represents one vote, and all money raised goes to support Asian elephant conservation and care, which is part of the zoo’s $23 million fundraising campaign.

The name choices to choose from are:

  • Linh Mai [pronounced LIN-my], which means spirit blossom
  • Thảo Nhi [pronounced TOW-nee], which means gentle and beloved
  • Tú Anh [pronounced TOO-ahng], which means gifted and bright
  • Tuyết [pronounced TWET], which means snow and symbolizes her winter birth

The zookeepers will keep a watchful eye on the little one to see who she‘ll take after: her 12-year-old spunky mom Nhi Linh or her 44-year-old laid-back dad Spike.

We can't wait to see what name wins.

Precious Dachshund Protests the Word 'No' Like a True Queen

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 1:37pm

Judy the Dachshund has something to say. Actually, she has a LOT to say—specifically about how the word "no" is completely unacceptable and frankly quite rude.

A TikTok from Judy Boots shows this mini Dachshund standing on the couch in her bright yellow harness, unleashing what might be the most passionate argument ever delivered by a 10-pound dog.. Her human captioned it "She hates that word 🤬," which honestly undersells the drama unfolding here.

Judy's got her stance locked in, her volume cranked to eleven, and her willingness to accept rejection sitting at exactly zero percent. This girl came prepared to debate.

@judy.boots

She hates that word 🤬 #fypシ #dachshund #puppy #dogsoftiktok #minidachshund

♬ original sound - Judy Boots

Naturally, the internet took her side immediately.

"Ooooh...you give her what she wants now!!😔😁," one person typed, clearly recognizing the gravity of denying this tiny queen.

"Oh my goodness. We're all her aunties now. Give that baby some treats!" Another viewer just adopted themselves into Judy's extended family right there in the comments.

Someone asked the question we're all thinking: "How could you say no to the poor baby? 😅"

Turns out this attitude runs in the breed. "It must be a Dachshund thing because mine doesn't like 'NO' either😂😂 Now GIVE THAT BABY WHAT SHE WANTS!!!"

The personality assessments rolled in. "Sassy!!" Yep, that tracks.

Why Dachshunds Turn Into Tiny Lawyers When They Hear 'No'

And someone offered the sweetest blessing: "So cute! May you be immersed in pure unconditional love always."

Here's the thing about Dachshunds—they weren't bred to take orders quietly. These dogs spent centuries hunting badgers (yes, actual badgers) by diving headfirst into dark underground tunnels. You need serious confidence for that job.

Related: Mini Dachshund Puppy's Funny 'Argument' With Mom Brings All the Laughs

That boldness? It's still very much alive in dogs like Judy, who channels her ancestors' fearlessness into protesting unacceptable words from the safety of a couch. Or, she really doesn't like to be told 'no'.

Dachshunds are also shockingly loud for their size. Their chest structure gives them way more lung power than you'd expect, which explains how Judy can project her displeasure so effectively. They're experts at using different barks to communicate exactly what they want, and they definitely learn which sounds get the best results.

Stubbornness is basically their brand. These dogs know what they want, and they're not afraid to negotiate (loudly) until they get it.

As one commenter wisely put it: "So adorable."

Judy absolutely agrees. Now about reconsidering that "no"...

Black Cat Stealing Mom's Pizza With Zero Regrets Is the Confidence We're Here For

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 1:30pm

Bean the cat is making viewers laugh with a video of her helping herself to her mom’s pizza. Instead of running off after her heist is thwarted, the confident kitty sticks around as if she has no intention of changing her ways. And we can't really blame her. It's pizza, after all, and likely a significant upgrade from her usual meal. Bean is shameless, and I'm a bit envious of her swagger, if I'm being honest.

The funniest part, though, is how large the piece of crust is: it's bigger than Bean's head and barely fits in her little mouth. If her theft had actually been successful, how long would it have taken Bean to eat it?

@the_cle_istheroof

so much audacity in one tiny little body it’s insane #catsoftiktok #void #cattok #pizza #boston

♬ Club Penguin Pizza Parlor - Cozy Penguin

Other cat owners shared their own experiences with feline food-stealing in the comments.

"My Gracie loves Ritz. Tried to steal them right out of my hand," says one fan.

"Mine took a perfect bite out of my sandwich today," posts another, who also includes a photo of the transgression.

Cats are notorious for doing what they want, when they want, so Bean's behavior is pretty typical. Growing up, my own family cat tried to abscond with an entire Thanksgiving turkey. Go big or go home, I suppose. What makes cats so much braver than their size would suggest?

Not-So-Scaredy Cats

A few years ago, a (very fortunate) rescue cat named Larry, aka the "Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office" at the residence of the UK Prime Minister, courageously chased away a fox who was lurking around the property. The fox was larger than Larry, but that did not seem to matter one bit.

When a cat stands its ground against a much bigger animal — whether it’s a fox or a dog — it looks like pure bravado. But it’s actually instinct.

Domestic cats are still very close, behaviorally, to their wild ancestors. Unlike dogs, which evolved to live and cooperate in groups, cats are solitary hunters. Their survival historically depended on controlling a reliable hunting space, so defending territory is hardwired into them.

This might also explain why Bean has no qualms about nabbing some pizza. If she doesn't hunt for herself, who will?

It could also be the sheer deliciousness of human food. Cats are extremely driven by smell because it's essentially how they "taste," and really, what's more wonderful-smelling than pizza? Cats have an extremely heightened sense of smell, so human food aromas rank highly among felines.

If your cat insists on inserting themselves into every meal you eat, the fix often comes down to boundaries. The biggest rule: don’t share food directly from your plate.

First of all, not all human foods are okay for cats, so preventing your kitty from feasting off your plate is for their own safety.

Food should always be served in your cat’s own dish — never from your fork, pan, or dinner plate. Otherwise, your cat quickly learns that hovering near your meal might earn them a bite, and they’ll keep coming back to “check.”

In short: consistency matters. Once your cat realizes your plate is off-limits — and their bowl is the only restaurant in town — dinnertime becomes a lot more peaceful.

Black-and-White Kitten Has a Mustache Like a Pringles Can and We’re Not OK

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 1:20pm

A black-and-white kitten with a perfectly placed mustache marking is currently melting the internet, and we are not OK about it. The tiny Tuxedo kitten, named Agnes, has facial coloring so symmetrical and dramatic, it looks like she borrowed it straight from a Pringles can logo.

This black-and-white kitty does not just have a faint smudge. No. Agnes has a full, curled mustache situation happening across her tiny pink nose, giving her the air of a Victorian snack baron trapped in kitten form. Add in her round eyes and petite frame, and the effect is almost too much to process in one sitting.

@agnesthelittlelady

Everytime I’m in the kitchen she thinks she needs food😂 #foryoupage #meow #tuxedocat #funnycatsoftiktok

♬ Monkeyshine-JP - Lt FitzGibbons Men

@agnesthelittlelady shared the TikTok clip, and the caption reads, “Every time I’m in the kitchen she thinks she needs food,” and the video is a full 30 seconds of Agnes standing there meowing. But not just any meow. It is crunchy. It is tiny. It sounds like a squeaky hinge mixed with pure entitlement. She also somehow sounds like a frog.

You think she is about to ask politely. She is not. She is announcing that the kitchen is open, and she expects service.

Related: Tuxedo Cat’s Reverse Coloring Makes Him Look Constantly in Shock

The comments absolutely lost it.

“What the hell is that? I’ll take 5.”

“Give her anything she wants, immediately, if not sooner.”

“She has a very distinguished mustache!”

“She is both a distinguished gentleman and just a little lady.”

“Is… is she real?? I’ve never seen anything so cute in my life!”

And of course, the most accurate assessment: “Hear me out, she’s a Pringles can.”

It is the combination that makes her unstoppable. The serious mustache. The baby-sized body. The crunchy little meows, demanding snacks like she is running a tiny restaurant.

I will say this. For how big my Maine Coon Meatball is, his meow is surprisingly delicate and tiny. You expect a foghorn from a Maine Coon of his size, and instead, you get this soft little squeak. It never matches the body. Agnes is the reverse. Small body, big personality, full mustache authority.

You can watch the clip once and think you are fine. You are not fine. You will watch it again.

What Exactly Is a Dwarf Cat? @thecatterycc

What do you think? 🤔 #cats #neatcatfacts #dwarfism #munchkincat #catbreeds #catfacts #interestingfacts #dwarfcat

♬ original sound - The Cattery -

A dwarf cat is typically a kitty with a genetic condition that results in shorter limbs while maintaining a normal-sized body. This condition is most famously associated with breeds like the Munchkin, but dwarfism can appear in mixed-breed cats as well.

It's important to note that not every small cat is a dwarf cat. Many kittens are simply petite or young. True feline dwarfism involves a specific genetic mutation that affects bone growth, particularly in the legs.

Because of the unusual proportions, dwarf cats often appear extra tiny or toy-like, even when fully grown. Their smaller stature, combined with bold markings, like Agnes’ mustache, can make them look almost cartoonish in the best possible way.

Whether Agnes is actually a dwarf cat or simply a small Tuxedo kitten with world-class facial markings, one thing is clear. That mustache is doing heavy lifting. And the internet has already decided she deserves everything in the kitchen.

Dachshund Puppy Refuses To Get Out of Bed for a Walk and Chooses Cozy Instead

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 12:55pm

There are two types of people in the world: early birds who are happier when they wake up early and go to bed sooner, and people on the opposite end who like to sleep late and go to bed late. For the most part, I thought dogs were different and preferred to start their day as early as possible. But there’s a funny Dachshund who has proven this to be false because he wants nothing to do with an early wake-up.

In this video, we meet a Dachshund puppy who has snuggled deep into the bed, refusing to budge when walk time arrives. His sleepy eyes and relaxed posture make it clear he’s already made his choice—and sleeping in is the only answer. It’s relatable, tender, and very hard to argue with. Take a look!

@maddie_tok2me

I mean the cutest drama king ever… #dachshundsoftiktok #doxielove #doxie #dachshundlife #dachshundaddict

♬ Little Life - Robert Gromotka

On February 2, 2026, TikTok user @maddie_tok2me shared a video of their adorable Dachshund, Riley, who has the cutest, fluffiest ears and a happy smile. He's got his own idea of what the day should start like, and to him, it's not waking up early. He doesn't even want to get out of bed for a word dogs typically love: a walk.

And despite his mom doing her best to convince him she wants to do something fun, something he probably looks forward to, Riley had his mind set, and he isn’t interested in going outside when he’s happy, cozy, and warm inside. But we can’t blame him at all; his desire to stay put is absolutely relatable.

Related: Dachshund's Reaction to Mom Ordering Him a Pup Cup Is Precious

He's the "cutest drama king ever," and people in the comments left messages for the adorable Dachshund, supporting his decision to make it difficult for his mom that day.

Comments included "Such a cutie" and "Lovely," along with heart emojis that did all the talking.

Dachshunds Need Daily Exercise, Too

While Riley had no intention of leaving his bed that day, experts explain that it's important for Dachshunds to be active every day.

According to Dachshund Health UK, the "general guidance" for daily exercise for these cute dogs increases as they get older. The calculation they suggest is "5 minutes of 'formal' exercise per day, per month of age."

By the time a Dachshund is around 6 months old, walks with a lead can be around 30 minutes per day, plus shorter spurts of activity throughout the day, too.

Riley is likely more than happy to go outside and explore the world in a few hours, after he's had some extra cuddle time in bed, and we totally get it!

Golden Retriever Waits Like a Human Kid to Be Picked Up for Sleepover, Complete With Tiny Backpack

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 12:50pm

Wynn the Golden Retriever is all of us as kids, parked by the front door with a backpack on, vibrating with anticipation. In the TikTok clip, she has her tiny pack strapped on and is sitting outside like a very fluffy first grader who heard the words “staying at Grandma’s” and decided departure starts now, actually.

Her family explains that whenever Wynn hears she is going to her grandparents’ house, she trots straight to the front door and waits, backpack ready, eyes locked on the driveway. There is no schedule, no pickup time, just pure optimism. Every passing car is a possibility, every sound could be Grandpa pulling up. The way she glances back at the house feels exactly like a kid asking, “Is it time yet?” without saying a word.

@wynn_thegolden

When Wynn hears that she is staying at her grandparents she waits at the front door ready to go #wynngirl #goldenretriever #fyp #dogsoftiktok

♬ original sound - Wynn The Golden

You can almost hear her inner monologue: I packed my emotional support tennis ball, my favorite squeaky, and the snack I stole earlier. I am prepared for this journey. Why are we still here. The backpack is hilarious, but it is also weirdly moving. Wynn is not just excited about a car ride, she knows she is going somewhere special, to people who adore her and spoil her in all the best ways.

For so many of us, “Grandma’s house” was code for warmth and snacks and getting away with things we absolutely would not get away with at home. Watching Wynn take that idea and translate it into golden retriever logic hits right in the childhood feels. I just know my dog Lola would be all in on the snack part of a grandparent sleepover, although she would probably forget her “backpack” and try to bring the entire toy basket instead.

Dog Sleepovers Are Big Feelings in a Little Backpack

Wynn’s tiny pack and big emotions are not just cute, they are a reminder that dogs build rich emotional maps around places and people. Research shared by the American Kennel Club notes that many dogs who spend long hours alone are happier when they get to stay with friends or family, almost like heading off to camp for their own mini vacation.

That “camp” only really works when it feels familiar and safe. Letting your dog visit grandparents regularly, keeping routines similar, and sending along their favorite toys or blankets turns a simple sleepover into something grounding and joyful. To your dog, that backpack is not just a prop, it is a suitcase full of trust. And if Wynn is any indication, the best kind of wealth is knowing there is always another front porch and another pair of open arms waiting just down the road.

Golden Retriever's List of 'Mean Things Mom Said to Him' Will Crack You Up

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 12:36pm

If my dog was the one in charge, her life would look a lot different. The treats would be unlimited, and so would the time spent outdoors. And she'd definitely be allowed to help herself to any human food she wanted on demand, even if someone (me) is trying to eat it at the moment.

But we live in a society, and my dog's decisions would probably end up making her pretty unhealthy, so I have to say no to these things. Unfortunately, so do other dog moms out there, and this Golden Retriever isn't taking that lightly.

In this video, Maui is airing out all of his grievances by sharing the mean things his mom said to him.

Unfortunately, they include statements like:

  • "You already ate"
  • "No"
  • "Ew, stinky breath"
  • "Stop barking"

It's all very insulting to a pup... but at the same time, these are all things that most dogs have to hear at some point in their lives (sometimes, every day). We can't let them have everything they want — but that just means that the times we get to say yes are even more special.

Related: Golden Retriever Reports for Watchdog Duty Then Immediately Relaxes

The good news? When Maui isn't being told "no" by his mom, he's actually having a pretty good life, especially since he has a 1-year-old little brother, Hugo, to keep him company.

He seems very happy (if not a bit emotional) in the videos that his mom has shared on TikTok. He's also had a very sweet life, even if he doesn't get treats every single time he requests them.

Exhibit A: He traveled all the way to Spain with his parents, something many humans will never get to do. This lucky dog!

All kids think their moms are mean sometimes, including the kids with furry tails and four legs. In reality? Saying no can be unavoidable, but it doesn't mean that we don't love them (or that we're not planning on giving them a treat later, just not right this second). Hang in there, Maui!

'Notoriously Grumpy' Orange Cat's Love Story With Grandpa Is One for the Books

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 12:20pm

Of all the animals in the kingdom, one of the most confusing, strange, and entertaining species is the cat. Be it a huge Jaguar or a Domestic Shorthair, they all seem to have a few things in common—that is, unless they're orange. Tangerine-tinted felines have a little something extra that can't always be explained, especially when it comes to love.

Diesel, the Orange Cat, for example, is obsessed with Grandpa, but not in the way dogs are obsessed with us. To the funny feline, Gramps playing hard to get makes for an interesting game that Diesel likes to play to win him over. As with most Orange Kitty things, it's complicated.

Closeup of an Orange Cat.

It's no coincidence this video comes just ahead of Valentine's Day, so consider this your lesson in the art of wooing. Diesel isn't sure why Grandpa won't give the attention he desires—and that's exactly why he wants it. Take a look at the fumbled attempt (which is all too relatable)!

@dieseldoesnothing

The saga keeps unfolding…stay tuned for more!

"The saga keeps unfolding," the caption says, and this is definitely not your average love story. It's giving high school boyfriend vibes all over again, but Diesel doesn't mind. Grandpa is steadfast in his resolve to *not* give in to the Orange Kitty, no matter how much he petitions.

Part Two of Diesel's Unrequited Love Has a Happy Ending

If, like me, you're feeling a little empty with no resolution to Diesel's silent crush rejection, you're in luck. A follow-up video shared the next day will let you breathe easy because yes—Grandpa does eventually cave! He gave it his best try, but this Orange Cat will NOT be ignored!

As per popular request here’s more of this cute interaction

As one fan proclaimed, "The bro romance continues," so consider that your good news for the day. As for how the relationship develops from here, it depends. Grandpa will have to open himself up to the persistent kitty, while Diesel needs to act a little less orange.

Pug Waiting To Have His Paws Washed Like a King Is the Definition of Goals

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 11:55am

Kids aren’t the only ones who like bath time. Pugs do, too!

That certainly appears to be the case with Guppy the Pug, who, in an adorable clip on TikTok, is patiently waiting for his evening bath routine to commence.

“We rinse our dog’s paws before bedtime (he sleeps with us), and it’s become his favorite part of the day,” Guppy’s parents say in the video. “He runs to the tub as soon as we come back from any walk and just waits like this for help up.”

@thesirguppington

literally have never met any dog so excited to get his paws washed regularly other than this boy 🥺 #pug #dogsoftiktok #fyp #cute #dogmom

♬ original sound - Guppy

This is too cute! Is this good boy part fish? I mean, his name is Guppy after all.

Regardless, fans can’t get enough of this little sweetheart and had to share their thoughts on TikTok.

“I literally have never met any dog so excited to get his paws washed regularly other than this boy,” his family captioned the clip.

“He's ready for his foot spa,” a viewer added.

“OMG, the cleanest doggo ever,” another chimed in.

Others couldn’t get over how well-behaved Guppy is at bath time.

“You’re a lucky woman. I have to ask my 90 lb. baby several times to get in, or I’ll have to awkwardly pick her up, and she hates that,” one fan shared.

Maybe there’s something special about this bath that has Guppy running to it again and again. Perhaps a soothing bubble bath? A rubber ducky? Hot tub functionality?

Is the Pet Bath Industry a Thing?

If you take your pup to a groomer, you may not be aware that there is actually a whole industry revolving around pet baths. The pet bath business is a rapidly growing segment within the broader pet care market, driven by increasing "pet humanization" and the demand for convenient, premium, and specialized products. Fun items, like suction cup licking pads, make bath time the best.

Believe it or not, the global pet grooming market was estimated at $6.89 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $10.35 billion by 2030.

With that, I’m sure Guppy will have an enjoyable bath experience before he goes to bed!

Golden Retriever Sisters' Epic Cuddle Puddle Might Be the Cutest Thing on the Internet

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 11:51am

Look, we're all going through it. The world's heavy. Bills exist. Monday happens every week. But sometimes the universe drops a gift right into your feed—like two Golden Retriever sisters snuggling their tails off.

Enter Bootsie and Poppy, stars of a TikTok from @BootsieandPoppy that's basically emotional support in video form. Their human captioned it "Stay warm friends," which undersells what's actually happening here: two impossibly fluffy sisters melted into one golden mass of pure joy on a couch.

Picture this. They're tangled together like they're trying to occupy the exact same space. Complete and total commitment to the cuddle. And just when you think it can't get sweeter, puppy nuzzles arrive. Your move, cynics.

@bootsieandpoppy

Stay warm friends #snow #cuddling #goldenretrievers #cuties

♬ New Home - Penguin Piano

Naturally, the internet lost its collective mind.

One viewer had an instant revelation: "OMG, okay I need another golden😭😭"

Then, there's this person who gets it: "Screaming into a pillow about how cute this is. (I have two Goldens who cuddle all day.)"

But not everyone's living the dream. One honest soul confessed, "I wish my Goldens would 😭 my older one gets annoyed by his younger brother." Tough break. Some siblings just aren't built for constant physical contact, even the furry ones.

The "my dog needs a dog" movement gained serious traction. "Oh my goshhhhhh! This is why I need to get my dog a dog 😍😭," captured that specific brand of puppy fever that hits differently. Someone else boiled it down: "All I want, a dog for my dog."

Related: Abandoned 'Gentle Giant' Great Pyrenees Didn't Know Love - Then Everything Changed

A multi-Golden household veteran weighed in with authority: "Absolutely nothing sweeter than when Goldens snuggle with each other. We have three, and I love these little moments. 💛🐾"

And yes, someone asked the real question: "Can I join?"

Why Golden Retrievers Are Basically Professional Cuddlers

Here's the thing about Goldens—personal space isn't really their vibe. Bootsie and Poppy sprawled across the couch and each other because that's genuinely what makes them happy. These dogs live for touch.

Whether they're smooshing against their humans or creating sibling cuddle mountains, physical closeness just hits different for Golden Retrievers. It's how they bond. How they relax. How they show love without needing words (because, you know, dogs).

Their whole personality centers on connection. Lap-climbing, leaning, and apparently sister-squishing all stem from the same instinct: being close to the ones they love feels right.

One commenter nailed it: "My heart just exploded. ❤️❤️"

Yep. That tracks.

Golden Retriever Bringing His Love Bug Stuffed Animal on a Walk Is Pure Valentine’s Joy

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 11:20am

A Golden Retriever bringing his Love Bug stuffed animal on a walk is exactly the kind of Valentine’s Day content the internet deserves. Otis, a fluffy Golden Retriever with serious main character energy, decided that if he was going outside, his giant pink Love Bug was coming, too.

In the video, the Golden Retriever is wearing a Valentine’s Day headband topped with fuzzy bobble hearts, which already feels like a strong commitment to the theme. But then you see it. Clutched carefully in his mouth is a large stuffed Love Bug in shades of light and dark pink, almost as big as his head.

@otisgoldenboy_

♬ original sound - otisgoldenboy_

The clip was shared by @otisgoldenboy_, and the caption reads, “He wanted to bring his Love Bug on our walk, and I said no, so now we’re bringing his Love Bug on our walk.”

As it should be.

Otis trots along proudly, headband bobbling, Love Bug bouncing slightly with each step. There is something about a dog carrying a favorite toy that instantly melts you. It is protective. It is earnest. It is deeply wholesome.

Related: Fluffy Mini Highland Cow in Bows Is the Only Valentine We Need

The comments were fully supportive of his decision. “We see two love bugs in this video,” one person wrote, which honestly is the correct take.

“Where can I get myself my very own giant love bug?! 10 out of 10 walking attire.”

“Love bug needs a walk too, after all.”

“Um. Don’t you dare tell him no again.”

And maybe the most relatable comment of all: “OMG! My baby LOVESSS her wormy.” Every dog seems to have that one toy. The one that goes everywhere.

There really is something about a dog carrying around a stuffed animal. It feels almost childlike in the sweetest way. The gentle grip, the way they adjust it if it starts slipping, the proud little prance.

It reminds me of when my own fur babies latch onto one specific toy like it's a lifelong companion. You do not question it. You just accept that this stuffed creature now lives with you.

Otis did not ask for much. Just his Love Bug and a walk.

Why Dogs Love Certain Stuffed Animals So Much @amy.gns

He nuzzles him so gently until he falls asleep. He really is the sweetest. . #dogsoftiktok #doodlesoftiktok #doodle #goldendoodle #puppylove

♬ Little Life - Robert Gromotka

Dogs often form strong attachments to specific stuffed animals because those toys carry scent, comfort, and routine. A favorite plush toy can become associated with security, especially if the dog has had it since puppyhood.

Soft toys are also satisfying to carry. For many pups, holding something gently in their mouth is a calming behavior. It can trigger nurturing instincts, especially in breeds like Golden Retrievers, who were bred to retrieve and carry objects carefully.

Some dogs even treat stuffed animals almost like companions, bringing them to bed, on walks, or during stressful situations. As long as the toy is safe and not being destroyed or swallowed, there is nothing wrong with letting them bring their beloved Love Bug along for the ride.

And honestly, if a Golden Retriever in heart bobbles wants to carry his Valentine on a walk, who are we to say no?

Precious Parrots ‘Put Their Heads Together’ To Get the Best Scratches From Mom

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 11:00am

I have four Budgies, and I have to admit, they're some of the most difficult pets I have. They're loud, proud, and always scheming about something. I know for sure that I'm not the only bird mom who feels that way!

Recently, one pair of parrots decided to put their heads together, both figuratively and literally. They wanted scratches from mom, and they had to find a better, more effective way to get them:

@floridabirdmom

Pete is just a grumpy old man. Always on the recieving end 😅😂

♬ Jelly Fish Jam - Da Fokin

The Florida Bird Mom has her work cut out for her with these birds. They're the only ones she has, but they're the best of friends. As any bird parent knows, that's both a blessing and a curse. It's great because:

  • Their friendship means they get to spend time out together.
  • Companionship is one of the most important things for birds.
  • It's less stressful for mom than balancing birds who dislike each other.

However, of course, birds who love each other have their own problems. They love to gang up on their mom to get what they want. They also get a little grumpy when they're apart.

Related: Parrot’s ‘Splash Pad Fun Time’ Has Everyone Craving Summer

Their names are Pete (the big Amazon Parrot) and Birb, the smaller Conure. They also have a dog brother, but he's not crazy about his feathered siblings. They tend to stick together instead, though Birb tries her best.

Pete is a rescue, and he was a little bit hesitant to join the family at first. He'd had a rough life, and he didn't trust that they wouldn't hurt him... Until Birb came along. She really helped him open up, and now they're forever friends:

@floridabirdmom

Oh the joys of bird ownership

♬ original sound - floridabirdmom

She even tries to bust him out of jail. Their poor mom is probably so tired, but so happy they're best friends!

Do Birds Need Friends?

Depending on the type of bird you have, you may or may not be advised to keep them in pairs or groups. There are a lot of conflicting opinions, but the answer varies between breed, size, situation... It's a lot!

Birds don't technically need other birds for companionship or other pets in general. In the case of larger birds, it's actually better not to keep them caged together.

However, even if you're not keeping your birds together, they need companionship. Birds who aren't interacted with regularly can become:

  • Aggressive
  • Untame
  • Irritable
  • Self-destructive

Pete and Birb aren't caged together, but they spend time together whenever they can. They even love to share their scratches!

Orange Cat Is Absolutely Enthralled Watching the Winter Olympics and We're Here for It

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 10:55am

The Olympics are so exciting!

The pageantry, the incredible talent of the athletes, the intense competition, and the beautiful scenery.

Apparently, cats appreciate all of this, too!

In a new video from @mainstreetmatthew, a very cute Orange Cat looks absolutely enthralled and focused while watching the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.

He even turns his head to watch the skiers flip!

And the skiers are amazing this year, so who can blame him!

@mainstreetmatthew

Get you a cat that loves watching the Olympics #orangecat #olympics #teamusa

♬ The Olympic Games Fanfare - Geek Music

This cute cat wasn't the only one watching the Olympics. The opening ceremony last Friday averaged 21.4 million viewers on NBC and Peacock, according to preliminary Nielsen ratings and digital data from Adobe Analytics.

According to NBCU, the opening ceremony averaged more than 3 million viewers on Peacock, making it the most-streamed for a Winter Games.

NBCU said in a statement, "Milan Cortina Olympics streaming consumption across NBCUniversal platforms exceeded 700 million minutes through Friday—most ever for a Winter Games and 2.5 times greater than the 2022 Beijing Olympics through the comparable time frame."

And this sweet cat is no fair-weather fan. Here he is later in the week, watching more of the Olympic Games.

This time, he went for curling, which he watched from his cat tower perch, but again, he was watching the athletes very intensely.

♬ original sound - Jake What Do Cats See When They Watch TV?

If you are wondering how cats visually process what they see on TV, that is a good question.

Cats, like dogs, have fewer cones in their eyes than humans, so they can't see the full spectrum of color, unlike us, but they can see red, green, and blue.

According to Merck Veterinary Manual, a cat's cone cells give them "excellent visual acuity and binocular vision," which allows them to see different colors.

Kitties also have more rods than humans, which is why they can see better in dim light than us, and that makes them excellent hunters.

Due to the structure of their eyes, cats are more likely to be stimulated by TV programs with the color combinations of red, green, and blue, as well as objects that move quickly on the screen.

Well, according to that information, the Olympic Winter Games are the perfect show for a cat to watch!

This Adorable Faux Topiary Dog at Lowe’s Adds the Cutest Touch to Any Yard or Entryway

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 10:55am

Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

If you’re looking to add some cuteness (and maybe a dash of kitsch) to your yard or entryway, Lowe’s is selling an adorable faux topiary dog that’s guaranteed to make dog parents smile (and no watering can or pruning skills required).

I first spotted these faux topiary pups on Instagram, where creator Collin Morgan of @hip2save shared her mission to track one down. She visited not one, but two Lowe’s locations before finally finding the greenery dog in stock—and noted that they seem to be selling quickly. (Her video also shows that Lowe's has other faux topiary shapes, including a smaller dog and a bunny!)

Word on the street is that these went viral last year, and they appear to be a seasonal item, so if you’ve got your eye on one (or two), it might be worth placing an online order or making a sooner-rather-than-later trip to Lowe's. Plus, it's currently on sale!

naturae decor Green Dog Topiary Garden Statue, $69.98 at Lowe's 24-inch faux topiary dog garden statue

L

This green pooch by naturae decor is turning heads thanks to its charming design and surprisingly life-like look. Standing 24 inches tall and 10.24 inches wide, this perfectly “groomed” pup is just the right size to make a statement without overwhelming your porch, walkway or flower beds.

Unlike real topiary, this faux version is all about being low maintenance. The dog is crafted with dense, artificial boxwood foliage designed to mimic the look of freshly trimmed greenery. Plus, its integrated support grid is built to hold the statue's shape and withstand the seasons.

In other words: it has all the curb appeal and none of the upkeep!

Whether you place it by your front door to greet guests, tuck it into a garden bed for a whimsical surprise or position it along a walkway for added charm, the boxwood pup adds instant polish. For an extra-sweet look, place one on each side of your front door (because if one faux dog is cute, two are even better).

The versatility doesn’t stop outdoors either. This topiary dog can also be used indoors to add a playful design element to a mudroom, sunroom or even as event decor. It would fit right in at a garden party, wedding or dog-themed celebration.

People Are Loving This Topiary Dog

With a five-star rating, it’s clear this green pup has already won over shoppers. Buyers say it’s every bit as charming in person as it looks online and it doesn’t take long for it to become a conversation piece.

“This small topiary dog is adorable. I have received many compliments and even an offer to buy it from me. It will remain ours at home!” one Lowe's reviewer shared.

Another customer wrote on the Lowe's website, “She guards my porch and everyone loves her!”

And a third added simply, “So cute. Many positive comments in neighborhood.”

Beyond the cuteness factor, several reviewers say the statue feels well-made and sturdy, holding up nicely outdoors. For a decor piece that requires zero upkeep, that’s a win-win.

Golden Retriever Gets Surprise 'Sleepover at Boyfriend's' and Her Joy Says It All

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 10:10am

Many pet parents set up playdates for their pooches. Whether it's a date at the dog park or just playing with plushies at someone's house, our fur babies love spending time with their bestie any chance they get.

Honey the Golden Retriever got an extra special treat when her mom shared her weekend plans.

@honeybunnythegolden

She was more than happy to have a sleepover with @Belle&Murphy 🤭 What better way to spend a Friday night!?💌 #goldenretriever #dogtok #dogsoftiktok

♬ som original - anix nerd1

In the TikTok from @honeybunnythegolden, the precious pooch sat in her living room as her mom asked her a very important question.

"Are you going to have a sleepover?" Her mom said to Honey, who immediately perked up at the word "sleepover". "Are you going to Murph's house?"

Apparently, this little get-together was unplanned and meant as a fun surprise for Honey and her fur baby beau.

"Surprising my dog with a last-minute sleepover at her boyfriend's," the onscreen text explained, with the caption adding, "She was more than happy to have a sleepover... What better way to spend a Friday night!?"

After hearing the news, Honey couldn't get to Murph's house fast enough. She sped-walked ahead of her mom, who carried Honey's overnight bag.

The canine cutie could barely contain her excitement as she waited at Murph's door. Honey barreled through as soon as it opened to an equally animated Murph, who greeted her with pure enthusiasm. The two scampered away to start their night, probably filled with lots of playing, snacking, and cuddling.

Followers raved over the canine couple and noted Honey's immediate action at the mere mention of her boyfriend.

"The eyes when you say sleepover," one remarked.

"She was already running," another pointed out.

"She really said, yup let’s go!" someone posted.

Honey and Murph Have a History

Previous posts reveal that this is not a new romance but a long-term relationship. Videos of Honey and Murph on several playdates show their beautiful bond.

Clips of the gorgeous Goldens playing, walking together, and even holding paws make it clear that this doggie duo has a rock-solid connection. These two fur babies are true besties.

Nervous Chihuahua Slowly Learning To Trust Her Uncle Is Just So Sweet

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 10:05am

Just like people, some dogs need a little extra time in new situations. Meeting new animals, new people, or stepping into unfamiliar spaces can feel overwhelming, especially for smaller pups who already navigate a very big world.

But with a calm, patient approach, dogs often start to relax. For Matilda, a tiny Chihuahua, meeting her dog-trainer mom Julianna's brother was one of those "stranger danger" moments. However, she was rushed or pressured into making a new friend, and that made all the difference.

In a TikTok shared on February 7 by @jwdogtraining, you can see this sweetheart's confidence building.

@jwdogtraining

This was after a careful introduction (I shared our intro protocol a few posts ago) and 24 hours mostly coexisting together. Winning over a nervous dog takes TIME, patience, and an understanding of their signals. #dogtraining #reactivedog #strangerdanger #dogtrainer #fearfuldog

♬ оригінальний звук - 🎧

It's easy understand why a dog her size might hesitate at first.

People often scoop up small pups or lean over them without realizing how intimidating that can feel. Matilda's mom and uncle took a different route. He stayed low to the ground. He avoided hovering over her. Instead of reaching across her head, he offered gentle chest scratches, then paused to see if she wanted more. That pause gave her control of the moment.

Related: Adorable Chihuahua Waiting for His Pup Cup Can Hardly Handle the Suspense

After a few scratches, Matilda switched gears and invited him to play. She hopped over him with her toy, a good sign that she was feeling more comfortable. And when she decided she was done, that choice was respected.

Fans picked up on it right away. Viewer @julia wrote, "It's so great to see small dogs getting the respect they deserve; it's awful that people ignore their consent clues just because they're tiny."

@MalkavianActs added, "The way he lets her have control of the whole interaction."

And @Miss_nevala shared, "That was just a perfect interaction. Calm and safe, on the dog's terms. I loved it!"

Gradual Exposure and Choices Help Fearful Dogs Build Confidence

According to the Animal Humane Society, helping an anxious or fearful dog gain confidence begins with gradual exposure to new people and situations at a pace the dog can manage. They advise letting dogs approach voluntarily, avoiding forced contact, and paying close attention to body language. Positive reinforcement and allowing a dog to move away when needed are also key parts of the process.

That's what played out here. Matilda wasn't cornered or coaxed. She was given space, clear signals, and the freedom to decide how far to go. Over time, those steady, low-pressure interactions help dogs connect new experiences with safety rather than stress.

Matilda didn't change overnight, but she walked away feeling steadier than the day before. And that's real progress.

When a nervous dog learns that she is respected, trust builds gradually. And that trust carries into the next introduction and the next new experience.

DZCA Welcomes Jelly Bean-Sized Joey—and It’s a Big Win for This Endangered Species

Thu, 02/12/2026 - 9:55am

There’s a new reason to celebrate at the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance (DZCA)—and it proves big things can come in really small, jellybean-sized packages.

DZCA, a nonprofit zoo and conservation organization, has welcomed its very first Huon tree kangaroo joey, a milestone moment for the zoo and a meaningful step forward for a species that desperately needs good news.

🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

An Endangered Huon Tree Joey Is Born View this post on Instagram

According to a report from the organization, the baby, a male born in late July 2025, is the first offspring of Pearl and Tristan, a kangaroo pair who moved to DZCA as part of an Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Species Survival Plan (SSP) breeding recommendation. These carefully coordinated breeding programs help accredited zoos maintain healthy, genetically diverse populations of vulnerable species—essentially acting as a safety net for animals whose numbers in the wild are shrinking.

Related: Indy Zoo Welcomes an Adorable New Baby Gibbon, but the Exhibit Is Closed for a Relatable Reason

And Huon tree kangaroos fall squarely into that vulnerable category. Native to the mountainous rainforests of Papua New Guinea, these elusive marsupials spend much of their lives high in the trees, using strong forelimbs and long tails to climb and balance.

But habitat destruction and hunting have caused their wild population to decline significantly, earning them an "endangered" status. When numbers are low, every single birth matters—not just for cuteness points, but for long-term survival.

Growing Up in the Pouch

Like all marsupials, Huon tree kangaroos enter the world extremely underdeveloped—roughly the size of a jellybean. Shortly after birth, the tiny joey instinctively made his way into his mother’s pouch, where he has continued to grow and develop out of sight for months as zoo staff carefully tracked his progress.

Newborn Huon tree kangaroo in his mom's pouch

N

Now about six months old, he’s beginning to show himself more often. Care staff have noticed him squirming in Pearl’s pouch and poking his head out with increasing curiosity—a clear sign he’s gaining strength and confidence. In the months ahead, he’ll start making short excursions outside the pouch before eventually venturing out on his own.

While guests may not always get a clear view, catching even a glimpse of this tiny face is something special. Because beyond the adorableness, this joey represents something much bigger: hope. For endangered species like the Huon tree kangaroo, every successful birth strengthens the safety net and helps ensure future generations will still have a place in the treetops.

And sometimes, conservation victories really do start small—about jellybean-sized, in fact.
