Victories Elude Lady Eagles At Troy Invitationa
Sullivan competed in the Troy Invitational on Sept. 26, but came away still looking for their first victory.
The Lady Eagles played the host Trojans to a tie. They fell to Holt, Montgomery County and Hannibal in the other three contests.
Troy
Coming off a loss to Holt in the opener, Sullivan tied Troy 22-25, 25-21 in the second game.
Behind seven aces, the Lady Eagles were able to manage a split.
Saige Carey, Parker Williamson and Olivia Witt each had two.
Morgan Clonts also had one.
Clonts finished with a game-high 10 points.
Carey added seven points and eight assists.
Williamson and Witt both had five points.
Witt tied with Emma Brune for the team lead in kills with six. Halle Moss tallied three.
Maci Nolie had seven assists.
Holt
The Lady Eagles fell 21-25, 22-25 to Holt.
Nolie served up four of Sullivan’s six aces. She also had 11 points and five assists.
Brune led the team with six kills.
Witt had five and Abby Wiegers added four.
Williamson had six points and one ace. Brooks scored on an ace.
Montgomery County
Sullivan took a 17-25 loss in the first set against Montgomery County. They battled back in the second and were downed 25-27.
Nolie again used her serving power, tallying four aces. She had five points and five assists.
Carey had seven points and six assists.
Brune had six kills. Witt finished with three and Wiegers two.
Williamson added three points and two assists.
Hannibal
Sullivan wrapped up the day with a 20-25, 18-25 loss to Hannibal.
Brune and Witt led with five kills.
Wiegers and Cunningham each had two. Carey and Halle Moss had one.
Witt also had seven points, two aces and two blocks.
Carey provided six assists and two points. Nolie finished with nine assists.
Clonts had five points and an ace.
