Tiefenbrunn, McKinney Medal At FRC Tournament

Bennett Tiefenbrunn and Cody McKinney medaled Monday at the Four Rivers Conference Tournament in St. Clair, with the Sullivan golfers finishing third and fourth respectively.

Tiefenbrunn shot 74 and McKinney carded an 86. Teammates Ethan Kackley and Jordan Woodcock were 20th and 26th respectively. Kackley shot 116 and Woodcock 125. 

Pacific’s Cameron VanLeer won the tournament, carding a 72 and beating Union’s Josh Jones by one stroke. VanLeer, Jones and Tiefenbrunn all shot 34 on the back nine, but VanLeer carded a 38 on the front, while Jones shot 39 and Tiefenbrunn 40. 

St. Clair’s Justin Hoffman shot 87 and finished fifth. Union’s Jacob Towell was sixth by shooting 88. Owensville’s Brant Littrell carded a 92 and came in seventh. Pacific’s Trey Boyer and Lucas Pyatt shot 93 and tied for eighth. Pacific’s Nick Vangyia shot 95 and was 10th.

Pacific won the regular season and tournament championship. As a team Monday, the Indians shot 371. Union took second at 373. St. Clair was third at 395. Sullivan took fourth at 401. St. James came in fifth by shooting 411. Owensville shot 456 and was sixth and Hermann did not have a varsity team.

Also golfing for Pacific was Jared Hootman (111) and Gavin Bukouwsky (119). 

Union had Devon Gaither (119) and Trevor Baker (120). 

Competing for St. Clair were Jewel Woodcock (97), Maria Bozada (104), Brandon Gallegos (107) and Calvin Juergens (118). 

Golfing for St. James were Payton Engelbrecht (97), Garrick Lonning (98), Isaac Helterbrand (107), Hannah Shasserre (109) and Max Nappier (126). 

Owensville had River West-Derby (107), Ben Walter (119), Brandon Faragher (138) and AJ Livell (157).
