Sullivan Wins Two Of Three At Warrenton Tournament
Sullivan got their season off to an encouraging start at the Warrenton Tournament.
The Lady Eagles shut out Fulton and Mexico, but fell to Washington in the finale.
Washington clinched the tournament championship with the victory against Sullivan.
Fulton
Sullivan opened the 2019 campaign against Fulton on Friday and registered a 4-0 victory. They scored twice in both halves.
Caitlin Pohlman quickly scored the season’s first goal. Raleigh Miller added another midway through the first half to give Sullivan a 2-0 lead.
Miller and Daisie Duncan would put two more goals on the board in the second half.
Sullivan’s defense contained Fulton to just two shots on net. Adrian Bell stopped both to earn the shutout.
Mexico
Pohlman put the Lady Eagles up with an early second-half goal to give them a 1-0 victory against Mexico on Saturday.
Sullivan had 18 shots and dominated the action. They limited the Bulldogs to just two shots and Bell picked up another shutout.
Washington
The Lady Eagles matched up against Washington in the final game of the day and fell 10-0.
Washington finished the tournament by outscoring their opponents 25-0.
The game ended after 75 minutes due to the 10-goal rule. Washington fired a total of 32 shots at the net.
