Sullivan Wins Two At Owensville Tournament
Sullivan’s girls soccer team defeated Wright City and St. James in the Owensville Tournament last week.
The Lady Eagles (8-8-1) dropped Wright City 6-1 in their opener on Wednesday, fell to Owensville 3-0 on Friday and rallied Saturday to defeat St. James 2-0.
Wright City
Sullivan held a 2-1 lead after one half, but four goals in the second led to a 6-1 blowout of the Lady Wildcats.
Sierra Pitman had four goals, while Abby Wiegers booted two and had an assist. Raeleigh Miller recorded two assists. Saige Carey and Caitlin Pohlman had one.
Payton Dudley stopped one shot in goal.
Pitman put Sullivan on the board early in the first half and broke a 1-1 tie late. She scored the next two goals before Wiegers delivered the final blows.
Owensville
Sullivan was slowed by the Dutchgirls on Friday in a 3-0 loss.
Owensville put 13 shots on net. Dudley spent 60 minutes in net, made eight saves and allowed two goals. Adrian Bell had 20 minutes, recorded five saves and allowed one.
The Dutchgirls opened up a 2-0 lead in the first half and Sullivan was never able to close the gap.
St. James
Miller and Wiegers each scored goals to help Sullivan past St. James 2-0 in the tournament finale.
Sullivan’s defense kept St. James from ever threatening and Bell didn’t have to face a shot on net.
Payton Counts and Dudley had assists.

Sullivan hosted Washington on Monday. The Lady Jays defeated Sullivan 10-0 on March 16.
The Lady Eagles were at Belle on Tuesday, Warrenton on Thursday and host Festus on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
