Sullivan Teams Finish Third At Home Meet

Sullivan’s boys and girls junior varsity track teams took third place Thursday at the Sullivan 9/10 Relays. 

The girls had 111.5 points, while the boys had 94.75 points.

Girls

St. Clair had 148 points to emerge on top of the 10-team field. Washington (115.5) was second. After Sullivan, New Haven (92.5) took fourth. Waynesville (53) was fifth. St. James (45.5) came in sixth. Owensville (42) was seventh. Union (33) came in eighth. Borgia (25) was ninth and Pacific (7) took 10th.

100-meter: Ashley Hatton took seventh in 15.02 seconds. 

200-meter: Hanna Johanning won with a time of 28.33 seconds. Hatton took eighth in 31.74 seconds.

400-meter: Jenni Birge finished third in 1:11.63. 

800-meter: Taylor McMahan was second in 2:50.68. 

1,600-meter: Porscha Polanowski finished fourth in 6:31.33. 

3,200-meter: Maria Fabay was sixth in 15:10.51. Emma Campbell took seventh in 15:43.73.

100-meter hurdles: Maggie Jones tied for fifth in 20:46 seconds. Fabay was seventh in 22.46 seconds.

300-meter hurdles: Polanowski was second in 57.59 seconds. Casey Licklider was third in 58.21 seconds.

4x100-meter relay: Licklider, Riley Lock, Johanning and Reagan Thomure were first in 54.86 seconds, beating second-place Waynesville by nearly four seconds.

4x200-meter relay: Johanning, Thomure, Lock and Licklider finished first, again dominating their competition. Sullivan had a time of 1:57.11. New Haven took second and finished 12 seconds behind.

4x800-meter relay: The team of Jones, Birge, Douthit and Fabay were even more dominant. They finished in 11:24.78. St. Clair was second and came in 28 seconds later.

Shot Put: Mikayla Whitford was ninth with a distance of 27-01. Kylie Hedges was 18th. Emi Isom was 20th.

Discus: Emily Martin finished fourth at 76-10. Whitford took 10th and Hedges was 16th.

High Jump: Lock tied for fifth at 4-4. 

Pole Vault: Polanowski took second at 7 feet.

Triple Jump: Jones won the event at a distance of 29-10.

Boys

Waynesville (99) narrowly beat out Pacific (97.5) for first place. Sullivan topped Washington, which had 94.5 points. Owensville (91) rounded out the top five.

St. Clair (87.25) took sixth. Union (42.5) was fifth. Borgia (28) came in eighth. St. James (24) took ninth and New Haven (22.5) was 10th.

100-meter: Jason Blankenship took first in 11.77 seconds. Ethan Krygiel was third in 12.31 seconds.

200-meter: Seth Lucas was fifth in 26.22 seconds, while Johnathan Krygiel took sixth in 26.25 seconds.

400-meter: Blankenship came in fifth in 58.13 seconds. John Johnson was 10th. 

800-meter: Logan Willette took third in 2:25.65.

3,200-meter: Jeremy Leasor was sixth in 13:02.06.

300-meter hurdles: Jason Hurt was first in 46.78 seconds.

4x100-meter relay: The team of Ethan Krygiel, Lucas, Kristian Harms and Johnson were fifth in 51.57 seconds.

4x200-meter relay: Lucas, Johnathan Krygiel, Ethan Krygiel and Bode Janish were first in 1:40.51.

4x400-meter relay: Janish, Willette, Johnson and Johnathan Krygiel were third in 4:00.13.

Shot Put: Tim Ryan was 10th with a distance of 31-01.5. Derick Johnson was 16th and Jacob Smith was 18th.

Discus: Oliver Pawlowski tied for sixth at 86-06. Trevor Hamblin was 11th and Smith was 21st. 

High Jump: Blankenship was first at 5-8. Janish was third at 5-4. Harms tied for seventh at 5 feet.

Long Jump: Blankenship won at 18-06.5.
