Sullivan Takes Third Place At Rolla Tournament

Sullivan capped off their final regular season tournament on October 5 with third place at the Rolla Tournament.

With two victories against West Plains, one each against Houston and Mexico, Sullivan went 4-1-1. 

They tied against Waynesville and lost to host Rolla.

Houston

The Lady Eagles had no problems disposing of Houston with a 25-12, 25-13 sweep.

Sullivan had 19 kills, led with five each by Emma Brune and Kya Harbour. Mallory Shetley had four and Riley Lock had three. 

Houston couldn’t handle Sullivan’s serving power, which resulted in the Lady Eagles producing nine aces. Saige Carey had four, Rylee Denbow and Lock had two and Shetley one.

Lock had 12 points, Carey nine and Denbow seven. Maci Nolie had 12 assists.

Waynesville

Sullivan forced a tie after dropping the first set to Waynesville.

The Lady Tigers won 25-16 in the first, but Sullivan reversed it by the same score in the second.

Sheltey and Brune each had five kills, while Denbow and Lock had one.

Sullivan had 18 points and Carey had five. She had three aces. Brune tallied four points. Denbow and Shetley had three, Lock had two and Harbour had one.

West Plains

In their first match of the day against the Zizzers, Sullivan won 25-17, 25-21.

Harbour had four kills and Brune, Lock and Shetley each contributed three.

Harbour also had two blocks. 

Brune led the scoring charge with nine points. Carey, Denbow and Shetley had three. Lock tallied two and Harbour one.

Mexico

Sullivan battled to win the first set against Mexico 25-20, then completed the sweep 25-13.

Shetley paced Sullivan with 11 kills, while Brune added six. 

Harbour had nine points and three aces. Denbow had seven points, two aces, two kills and 11 assists.

Lock had five points and three kills. Carey totaled four points. 

Rolla

Sullivan and Rolla played a thrilling three-set match back on September 16. Rolla left Sullivan after taking the final set 33-31.

The Lady Eagles weren’t able to get that close again and fell 25-16, 25-20. 

Shetley had 11 kills to lead Sullivan. Brune and Lock each had three. Denbow and Harbour had one.

Brune and Carey had four points. Denbow, Harbour and Lock had two. Denbow and Nolie each tallied eight assists.

West Plains

Sullivan clinched third with a sweep over West Plains, 25-19, 25-22.

Behind 13 kills and 10 points from Shetley, Sullivan overpowered the Zizzers. Brune finished the day with seven kills and two points. Nolie had six points and 24 assists.

Harbour and Hailey Volkmann each had three kills. Denbow and Lock had two. 

Sullivan totaled 31 kills.

Carey had seven points, while Denbow and Harbour had three. Denbow had three aces.
