Sullivan Sweeps Home Quad Meet
Sullivan’s grapplers were dominant at home Wednesday, sweeping a trio of conference opponents in Owensville, St. Clair and St. James.
Dillon Witt (126), Ethan Hurt (145), Kobie Blankenship (160), Trey Eplin (170), Evan Shetley (182), Luke Landwehr (220) and Tristan Brown (285) each picked up three wins on the night.
Sullivan defeated Owensville 65-16, St. Clair 47-35 and St. James 50-27.
Owensville
Ty Shetley (138) pinned Gabriel Soest in 3 minutes, 35 seconds. Hurt pinned Boston Belk in 1 minute, 57 seconds.
Blankenship took down Alan Kopp in 43 seconds. Eplin pinned Zachary Adams in 1 minute, 24 seconds.
Evan Shetley pinned Cody Linders in 3 minutes, 3 seconds. Carter Dace (195) pinned Michael Stockton in 2 minutes, 35 seconds and Brown won by technical fall against Samuel Pack, 19-3.
Joey Lewis (120), Ransom Dudley (152), Landwehr and Witt each won by forfeit.
Kyler Martin won an exhibition against Brent Helmig in two minutes.
Aries Nicholas pinned John Johnson (113) and Tighe Bombach won by major decision against Cole Aberle (132).
St. Clair
Hurt won by technical fall against John Devenport Cortivo II, 19-2. Blankenship pinned Caleb Hooks in 1 minute, 36 seconds.
Witt pinned Connor Sikes in 52 seconds.
Eplin, Evan Shetley, Dace, Landwehr and Brown all won by forfeit.
Aberle was pinned by Seth Banks. Ty Shetley was pinned by Cameron Simcox. Dalton Thompson pinned Dudley. Johnson was pinned by Gabe Martinez and Lewis fell by technical fall to Brock Woodcock.

Witt pinned Elijah Wilcox in 1 minute, 13 seconds. Ty Shetley pinned Cody Wilfong in 5 minutes, 38 seconds. Hurt won by technical fall against Dakota Kurtti, 16-0. Evan Shetley pinned Chandler Tinsley in 3 minutes, 43 seconds. Landwehr defeated Seth Keeny by a 7-0 decision. Brown pinned Jed Hitch in 2 minutes, 17 seconds.
