Sullivan Pushes Ahead Of Washington In Fourth Quarter

Cody McKinney scored 31 points Tuesday to lead Sullivan to a 56-52 victory against Washington, their third straight.

The Eagles (6-1) overcame a tough shooting night. Washington limited Sullivan to just 33 percent from the field and forced the Eagles to take nearly three times as many 3-pointers (28) as two-pointers (11).

McKinney had the hot hand as she shot 7-12 from beyond the arc.

Landon Hoffman and Austin Frye each scored nine points, while Jacob Rohrer scored four and Carter Adams three.

Rohrer added seven rebounds and three steals.

The Eagles led 15-10 after one quarter, but Washington charged ahead with a 19-point second period. Sullivan trailed 29-27 at the break.

After a high-scoring third, the two teams went into the final period tied at 44-44. Sullivan opened up a lead in the final few minutes and hung on for the win.
