Sullivan Lands Three On All-Conference First Team

Sullivan’s big three of Bria Jones, Clare Shetley and Mallory Shetley led the team to a co-championship in the Four Rivers Conference, a second straight district title and were seconds away from reaching the state quarterfinals.

All three players were named to the all-conference first team for the 2017-2018, with Jones receiving Player of the Year honors.

Jason Merkel was chosen as Coach of the Year.

Jones averaged 12 points, three assists and two steals per game in her senior season. Jones garnered an all-conference selection for the third straight season. She was at her best in FRC games, averaging 15 points and three steals, shooting 55 percent from the floor and nearly 49 percent beyond the arc.

Clare Shetley led Sullivan with 14 points and seven rebounds per game, shooting better than 57 percent from the floor. It was her second all-conference selection.

Mallory Shetley averaged 12 points, six rebounds and two steals.

Hermann led the conference with four selections. Allison Stiers and Brooke Grosse were named to the first team, while Quincy Erickson was chosen for the second team. Emma Godat received the Sixth Man award.

Owensville’s Breanna Diestelkamp, New Haven’s Emily Scheer and St. Clair’s Gracie Sohn rounded out the first team.

Union’s Julia Overstreet and Kennedy Reeser were selected to the second team. New Haven’s Lauren Gerlemann, Pacific’s Grace Burrows, St. Clair’s Haley Buscher and St. James’ Savanna Riccetti were other second team selections.
