Sullivan Defeats St. Clair, Central; Fall To Dexter
Sullivan defeated St. Clair and Central Thursday in their return to the mat for the first time since the middle of December.
A team head coach Matt Peregoy vowed would be healthier and stronger showed its muscle in taking down Central 60-15 and edging conference rival St. Clair 36-32.
The Eagles came up short against Dexter 46-30.
Central
Dillon Witt (106) pinned Levi O’Dell in 1 minute, 58 seconds. Brendan Labbee (113) pinned Joshua Countryman in 5 minutes, 12 seconds. Alec McCormick (160) pined William Mayberry in 2 minutes, 21 seconds. Evan Shetley (170) pinned Jacob Looney in 5 minutes, 9 seconds.
Ethan Hines (120), Kobie Blankenship (138), Isaac Peregoy (146), Ian Kilburn (152), Drake Hill (220) and Tristan Brown (285) won by forfeit. Both teams forfeited at 126.
James Hicks (132) was pinned by Kade Willis; Trey Eplin (182) lost by decision to Aaron Dooley and Luke Landwehr (195) was pinned by Kwinton Burnett.
Ransom Dudley won an exhibition over Levi O’Dell and Cameron Dush pinned Jacob Smith.
St. Clair
Witt pinned Cody Armistead in 32 seconds. Peregoy pinned Lackey McDowell in 5 minutes, 7 seconds. McCormick pinned Grant Bay in 5 minutes, 32 seconds. Shetley pinned Randy Simpson in 58 seconds.
Labbee and Eplin won by forfeit. Dalton Thompson won by forfeit for the Bulldogs at 120. Both teams forfeited at 126 and 132.
Jason Landing won a 12-2 major decision over Blankenship. Kilburn fell by a 9-0 decision to Ryan Herman. Aaron Herman pinned Luke Landwehr in 43 seconds.
Dexter
Blankenship won a 6-1 decision against Mason Keena. Peregoy took a 7-5 decision over Wyatt Chastain. Shetley pinned Parker VanSlyke in 2 minutes, 55 seconds.
Witt was pinned by Bryston Pemberton. Labbee was pinned by Seth Harris. Hines fell to Drew Soule. Hicks lost by decision to Trevor McDonald. Eplin was pinned by Jett Featherston. Brown lost to Christian Yarber.
In exhibition action, Dudley lost to Wyatt Parker. Jonathan Krygiel pinned Corey Hawkins. Lucas York pinned Caleb Coons.
