Sullivan Defeats North County In Overtime

Payton Dudley booted the game-winner early in overtime on Monday to give the Lady Eagles a 2-1 win against North County.

Dudley had both goals. She was assisted by Payton Counts and Josie Rohrer.

Sullivan (5-5-1) matched their victory total from last season with the non-conference triumph.

The Lady Eagles were unable to build on the win the next night as they dropped a 2-0 contest to St. Clair in their Four Rivers Conference opener.

St. Clair scored both goals in the first half.

Against North County, Sullivan struck first, with Dudley picking up her first goal of the season in the first half.

North County would tie the game on one of their only two shots on net.

Sullivan had come out on the wrong end of one-goal games in two of their previous three, but Dudley’s winner just four minutes into the extra period delivered a victory.

St. Clair limited Sullivan to just three shots the next night as the Lady Bulldogs held on for a 2-0 shutout.

Courtney Williams stopped all three shots. Sullivan keeper Adrian Bell knocked down five.

Haley Buscher and Madison Husereu recorded the goals for St. Clair. Zoe Gaszak had an assist.
