Sullivan Defeated In Season Opener

Rolla fended off a late charge by Sullivan to secure a 34-28 victory, spoiling the Lady Eagles’ season opener on November 26.

A cold night from the floor doomed Sullivan (0-1). They shot just 27 percent from the floor and were 2-for-20 beyond the arc.

Sullivan also turned the ball over 18 times.

Rolla opened the season as the No. 3 team in Class 4 after making a run to the quarterfinals last season. 

The Lady ‘Dogs limited Sullivan to just eight first-half points. Sullivan trailed 19-8 at the break and 25-15 going into the fourth quarter.

Sullivan got within two before Rolla turned them away.

Mallory Shetley led Sullivan with 10 points. She added two blocks, three rebounds and three steals.

Kya Harbour had nine points and four rebounds. Rylee Denbow finished with five points, five steals and three rebounds.

Riley Lock scored four points, collected five rebounds and tallied three steals.

Rolla’s Carli Libhart scored 17 points to lead all scorers.
