St. Clair Rallies Late To Defeat Eagles
of Sullivan Ballpark.
The game was moved from St. Clair to Sullivan due to St. Clair’s field not being playable.
Sullivan took a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning. Garrett Juergens started and fired five shutout innings, striking out seven and allowing just two hits.
Down to their last six outs, the Bulldogs scored five runs off Dalton Englert.

The Eagles picked up a run in the first when Mike Kraus lined a single to center, scoring Cody McKinney.
Juergens and Thompson controlled the game from there. Juergens struck out five of the first six batters he faced. St. Clair sent one batter over the minimum until the fifth inning when Clay Banderman singled.
Juergens came back to strike out Johnny Kindel before allowing a base hit to Sam Oermann. A strikeout of Brady Branscum and pop up from Bailey Smith left two runners stranded.
Thompson recovered after a rocky start. He ran into trouble in the fourth when Derek Evans singled and Landon Hoffman walked. The Eagles couldn’t push a run across the plate.
Englert took over in the sixth and allowed a leadoff single to Thompson. Thompson took second on a wild pitch and scored on a base hit by Michael Hughes. Mason Dodson doubled, putting runners at second and third. A bloop single from Timmy Hoffman scored Hughes for a 2-1 lead. Banderman and Kindel also added singles to make it 4-1. Branscum delivered the final blow with two outs on a double to right that scored Kindel.
