Shetley, Flora Receive Top All-Area Honors
Mallory Shetley and Jordan Flora received player of the year and coach of the year honors respectively in the Washington Missourian All-Area basketball team.
It is the second straight all-area honor for Shetley and the first for Flora, who finished runner-up last season.
Shetley led the Lady Eagles on the court with 19 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks per game.
Flora guided Sullivan to a second straight Four Rivers Conference championship, the program’s third district title in the last four seasons and a 25-3 record.
The Lady Eagles got off to an 18-1 start this season.
Shetley and Flora also received the top FRC honors.
Shetley received 74 points in the player of the year voting. Union’s Reagan Rapert, who was the only other unanimous selection, received 46 points.
Hermann’s Quincy Erickson had six points.
Flora received 76 points, while Union head coach Pat Rapert had 31. Borgia’s Stacia Houlihan had 18 points and St. James’ Terry Wells received four.
Kya Harbour (second team), Rylee Denbow (third team) and Riley Lock (honorable mention) also were named to the team.
