Purvis, Crump Nab Top Area Honors
Sullivan senior Addison Purvis and Lady Eagles head coach Ashley Crump received the top honors in the Missourian All-Area softball voting.
Voting was conducted by area media members and coaches.
Purvis was chosen as player of the year for the third straight season and Crump as coach of the year for the fourth straight.
Purvis was nearly a foregone conclusion after leading Sullivan to a third Final Four in the past four seasons. The Mississippi State commit had a 0.93 ERA and 179 strikeouts in 97 innings.
She combined that with one of the most potent bats in the state — a .701 average, .798 on-base percentage, 1.373 slugging average, 12 home runs, nine doubles and 46 RBIs.
Crump guided the Lady Eagles to a 12th straight district title and second-place finish in state. In 13 seasons, her teams have made four Final Four appearances, finished second twice and third twice.
Hannah Cox and Hanna Johanning garnered first-team all-area honors, while Kayla Ulrich, Kloey Blanton and Madyson Stahl were named to the second team.
