McKinney's 32 Not Enough Against Blair Oaks

Cody McKinney scored a career-high 32 points Friday, but it wasn't enough to overcome Blair Oaks.

McKinney was 9-for-10 beyond the arc in a 59-52 defeat to the Falcons. Sullivan (3-1) trailed by as many as 14 in the first half. McKinney tied the game 43-43 on the first possession of the fourth quarter.

Blair Oaks streaked ahead with a 10-3 run and finished off the Eagles at the free throw line.

Austin Frye, Landon Hoffman and Austin Lewis each scored five points. Caleb Todd had three and Jacob Rohrer scored two.

The Eagles struggled inside against a lengthy Blair Oaks lineup. Sullivan had just four field goals inside the arc and 13 beyond.

Hot long distance shooting kept the Eagles alive in the early minutes as they connected on three 3-pointers.

Down 18-12 after the first quarter, Sullivan watched Blair Oaks' lead swell to double digits with a 10-2 run. The Falcons led 28-14.

It was Sullivan's turn to go on a run from there. McKinney's 3-pointer before the half capped off a 9-2 run and sent the Eagles into the half trailing 30-23.

Two more 3's from McKinney to start the third quarter fueled a rally that pulled the Eagles within three, 43-40.
