Lady Eagles Win Three Events, Take Second At Blair Oaks

Sullivan’s girls won three events in their season opener Friday at Blair Oaks, taking second place overall and getting 19 top four finishes.

Bria Jones’ first meet since her sophomore season produced a pair of first place finishes in the 100-meter and 400-meter dashes. She also was part of the 4x400-meter and 4x800-meter relay teams that took second.

Sullivan had eight second-place finishes, four third-place finishes and four fourth-place finishes.

Jones led the way in the 100-meter dash where she had a time of 13.16 seconds. Behind her was freshman Reagan Thomure in second place with a time of 13.76 seconds.

In the 200-meter dash, freshman Hanna Johanning led Sullivan with a time of 28.74 seconds to finish second. Thomure came in third in 29.21 seconds. Claudia Dace was sixth in 30.39 seconds.

Jones led Sullivan again by taking first in the 400-meter dash in 1:03.33. Johanning finished second in 1:05.25 and Kya Harbour was third in 1:06.22. Emily Halmick finished seventh in 1:10.38.

Maggie Jones, another freshman, took second in the 800-meter run in 2:35.15. Baylee Coats was sixth in 2:46.11.

The girls 4x200-meter relay team took first in 1:57.44.

Sullivan’s team featured Harbour, Thomure, Halmick and Riley Lock.

The 4x400-meter relay team came in second at 4:30.19 and the 4x800-meter relay team finished second in 10:45.38.

Sullivan had Harbour, Halmick, Jones and Johanning.

Sullivan also took second in the 4x800-meter relay, behind Bria Jones, Maggie Jones, Coats and Claudia Dace.

In the high jump, Mallory Shetley took second place with a height of 4-10. Johanning took fourth in the long jump at 14-04.75.

Halmick finished fourth in the triple jump at 30-05.75.

Porscha Polanowski came in third in the pole vault at 7-6.

Kristin Lucas took fourth in the discuss at 91-06.50.

Emily Hernandez finished third in the javelin at 92-04. Lucas was fourth at 91-11.

Lucas came in second in the shot put at 35-2.
