Lady Eagles Win Crackerjack Shack Invitational

Sullivan won the orange division of the annual Crackerjack Shack Invitational on Saturday in Springfield, going a perfect 5-0 and running the team’s winning streak to 11.

The Lady Eagles (20-4) swept Bolivar, Joplin, Oak Grove, Waynesville and Willow Springs across two days at Killian Park.

Bolivar

Sullivan opened the tournament Friday with a 1-0 win over Bolivar. 

Addison Purvis fired seven shutout innings and struck out 13 batters. Her solo homer in the sixth broke a scoreless game. The homer was Sullivan’s only hit and one of only two hits in the game. Purvis and Bolivar starter Katie Brooks dueled for seven innings.

Joplin

The offense returned against Joplin with a 14-3 victory against Joplin.

Homers by Purvis and Hannah Cox carried the offense. The duo combined for eight hits, nine RBIs and six runs scored. Purvis doubled and Cox tripled.

Kamryn Lohden had three hits and drove in two runs. Hanna Johanning had two hits, scored twice and drove in one. 

Madison Decker, Abbey Daniel, Grace Glaser and Madyson Stahl each recorded a hit. 

Cox started and went 5.1 innings, striking out one and walking one. She allowed two earned runs. Johanning took over and recorded the final five outs. 

Oak Grove

Scoring twice in the first and once in the fourth, Sullivan hung on Saturday for a 3-2 win against Oak Grove.

Oak Grove stranded the bases loaded in the fifth. Purvis, who struck out 12, fanned the final two batters of the inning to preserve Sullivan’s lead.

Purvis and Johanning each had two hits, including a triple by Purvis. Johanning, Lohden and Glaser drove in runs. Daniel, Stahl and Kloey Blanton all had hits. 

Waynesville

Sullivan buried Waynesville with a nine-run fifth inning and soared to a 17-0 victory. 

The Lady Eagles had 14 hits, including three by Kylee Thomure. Thomure tripled and scored three times.

Purvis had two hits, drove in three runs and scored twice. Lohden doubled, tripled, walked twice and scored twice. 

Cox doubled, drove in three runs and walked three times. She also scored twice. 

Blanton doubled, singled, drove in two runs and scored. Stahl had two hits and Daniel doubled. Riley Diggs had two RBIs. 

Willow Springs

Sullivan broke out for four runs in the fourth inning and went on to win 7-2 in the final against Willow Springs.

Sullivan scored once in the third, once in the fifth and again in the sixth. Willow Springs countered with runs in the fifth and seventh.

The Lady Eagles outhit Willow Springs 11-8.

Purvis whiffed 14 batters and allowed one earned run. At the plate, she was 1-5 and drove in two runs.

Daniel collected three hits and doubled twice. Lohden and Blanton had a pair of hits.
