Lady Eagles Sweep Potosi In Two Sets

Sullivan and Potosi went back-and-forth Monday, but the Lady Eagles seized the lead late in the first set, jumped out to a big lead in the second and cruised to a 25-21, 25-16 win in non-conference action.

The Lady Eagles (7-1-2) held the advantage through most of the first set. Potosi tied Sullivan 14-14 until Katie Creek sent a spike Potosi's libero couldn't handle. Creek then recorded an ace to put Sullivan ahead 16-14. Potosi ticked off four of the next five points, capping it off with an ace by Olivia Coleman.

The Lady Eagles would go back on top with Alex Blankenship at the service line. Sullivan rattled off five straight winners to go up 23-19 and would eventually close the game out on a Clare Shetley spike.

In the second set, Sullivan jumped out to a 7-1 lead. Potosi called a timeout and briefly regrouped, but the Lady Eagles remained on top.

Blankenship led Sullivan with 10 points. She had an ace and three kills. Lauren Hoffman had five points and a team-high seven kills and 16 assists. Avery Carey, Katie Creek and Zariah Richards each had four points. Creek had five kills and two assists. Mallory Shetley had two points, two kills and two blocks. Clare Shetley had three kills and a block.

Kristin Lucas had three kills and two blocks. Hana Hunter and Riley Lock each had two kills.
