Lady Eagles Sprint Past St. Charles West

Rylee Denbow and Kya Harbour buried St. Charles West from beyond the arc on Tuesday and helped the Lady Eagles to a 57-41 win in the first round of the Union Tournament.

Denbow scored 14 points on four 3’s, while Harbour led the way with a season-high 19. She connected for three 3-pointers.

Denbow also grabbed seven rebounds as part of a big night on the boards for the Lady Eagles. They recorded 30, including 18 on the offensive glass.

Mallory Shetley scored 16 points and had six rebounds.

Olivia Witt scored four points, Porscha Polanowski had two and both Hanna Johanning and Riley Lock finished with one.

Lock also had six rebounds and three assists.

Johanning had five rebounds and five assists.

Sullivan (12-1) won for the 12th straight game. They couldn’t shake the Lady Warriors in the first quarter, which ended with an 11-11 tie.

The second quarter belonged to the Lady Eagles.

Sullivan exploded offensively and locked up the Warriors en route to an 18-0 period. They held a 29-11 lead at the half.

The offensive rhythm carried over into the second half. The Lady Eagles outscored St. Charles West 21-12 and all but clinched the win.
