Lady Eagles End Home Schedule With Wins

It took 180 minutes plus penalty kicks, but Sullivan ended their home schedule with a pair of wins.

With 20 minutes left to play Monday, Sierra Pitman broke a scoreless game and helped the Lady Eagles to a 1-0 win over Dixon.

One night later, Maddy Brauninger nailed the game-winning penalty kick, sending Sullivan to a 1-0 victory over De Soto.

After dropping nine of their first 10 games, Sullivan bounced back to win four of their next six.

A quiet 9-0 loss at Northwest Cedar Hill Thursday put a wrap on the regular season. Sullivan faced Borgia in the first round of the district tournament Monday.

The victories Monday and Tuesday were backed up by strong defense and the goalkeeping of Lauren Hoffman, who stopped four shots in each game.

Sullivan took 11 shots Tuesday against De Soto’s Abby Pope.
