Lady Eagles Edge Festus

Abby Wiegers scored off a corner kick in the 31st minute and it went down as the only goal Friday in Sullivan’s 1-0 victory against Festus.

The Lady Eagles (9-10-1) salvaged a week that saw them fall to Washington and drop a 1-0 contest to Warrenton one night earlier.

Festus held on to possession for most of the first half of Friday’s game, but the Lady Eagles were able to disrupt their offense and limit the scoring chances.

Wiegers’ goal off the corner kick represented Sullivan’s best chance to that point and they took advantage.

Washington

Sullivan was beaten 10-0 by Washington when the two teams met in March at the Warrenton Tournament, but the Lady Eagles kept them on the field the whole way on Monday.

Washington was held to just two first-half goals, but finally found their groove with a big second half, winning 7-0.

Seven different players scored for the Lady Jays.

Adrian Bell made 14 saves in net.

Warrenton

Sullivan and Warrenton were locked in a defensive battle on Thursday.

The Warriors scored on a second-half goal by Bella Roberts to win 1-0.

Up Next

Sullivan was at Dixon on Monday, De Soto on Tuesday and wrap up the regular season with Wright City on Thursday night.
