Helias Earns No. 1 Seed In Peoples Bank Holiday Classic

Seeding for the sixth annual Peoples Bank Holiday Classic was released Saturday.

The tournament begins Monday, December 10 and runs through Friday, December 14.

Helias joins the tournament as the No. 1 seed and will face No. 8 seed Cuba in the first round at 4 p.m. 

Salem grabbed the fourth seed and will take on fifth-seeded Sullivan at 5:30 p.m.

Borgia will be the second seed and face seventh-seeded Northwest at 7 p.m.

St. James received the third seed and takes on sixth-seeded Owensville at 8:30 p.m.

First round losers move on to the consolation semifinal, which begins Wednesday at 4 p.m. with the Helias-Cuba loser meeting the Salem-Sullivan loser.

The Borgia-Northwest loser plays at 5:30 p.m. against the St. James-Owensville loser.

The Helias-Cuba winner faces the Salem-Sullivan winner at 7 p.m. and the Borgia-Northwest winner meets the St. James-Owensville winner at 8:30 p.m.

Seventh place will be decided at 4 p.m. on Friday, followed by consolation at 5:30 p.m., third-place at 7 p.m. and the championship game at 8:30 p.m.

Sullivan won the tournament last year by defeating Rock Bridge.
