Grapplers Claim Seven Medals At Owensville, Five Top Finishes

With less than a month from districts, Sullivan’s wrestling team looks to be rounding into form.

The grapplers earned seven medals and five championships at the Owensville Tournament on Saturday.

It was just the third time on the mat for the Eagles since December 21. A tri-meet was canceled at St. Joseph Lafayette on January 10. The Crossroads Duals tournament was canceled January 11 and a home quad meet was canceled Friday.

There were no signs of rust at Owensville.

Dillon Witt (126), Ty Shetley (138), Ransom Dudley (152), Evan Shetley (182) and Tristan Brown (285) captured first place in their respective weight classes.

Kobie Blankenship (160) finished second and Trey Eplin (170) was third.

Ethan Hurt (145) and Carter Dace (195) were fourth. Dillon Freeman (106), Joseph Lewis (120) and Cole Aberle (132) were sixth. Luke Landwehr (220) took eighth.
