Girls Finish Sixth At Hermann Invitational

Sullivan’s girls had three first-place finishes and took sixth Tuesday at the Hermann Invitational.

Bria Jones won the 400-meter dash, Maggie Jones won the 1,600-meter run and the 4x400-meter relay team took first place.

Overall, the Lady Eagles had 73 points. 

Centralia (106) won the team title, while Pacific (97) took second. New Haven (95.5) was third and edged Owensville (95). Montgomery County (78.5) came in fifth.

St. James (59.5) followed Sullivan to take seventh. Wright City and Fulton (38) tied for eight. South Callaway (32.5) finished 10th. Hermann (9) was 11th. Linn and Cuba (8) tied for 12th. Wellsville-Middletown (3) came in 14th.

Bria Jones won the 400-meter event for the third time this season and her time of 1:02.02 was the best to date.

Maggie Jones won the 1,600-meter for the first time. She notched her best time of the season at 5:46.36, an improvement of 12 seconds from the Don Olszowka Invitational at Union two weeks earlier.

The 4x400-meter team of Kya Harbour, Hanna Johanning, Maggie Jones and Bria Jones had a time of 4:19.86 to win first. 

Reagan Thomure took second in the 100-meter dash in 13.35 seconds. Thomure also finished fourth in the 200-meter dash in 27.94 seconds. Johanning came in fifth in 28.06 seconds.

Harbour was fourth in the 400-meter dash in 1:04.84, her personal best. 

Porscha Polanowski was eighth in the 300-meter hurdles in 56.44 seconds, which is her new personal record.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Casey Licklider, Zariah Richards, Riley Lock and Mallory Shetley came in eighth in 55.93 seconds.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Baylee Coats, Claudia Dace, Vittoria Polanowski and Taylor McMahan was sixth in 11:09.95.

Kristin Lucas took third in the shot put with a distance of 33-08. Emily Hernandez threw 28-09. 

Lucas was sixth in the discus in 101-03. Hernandez had a season-best of 91-10. 

Lucas finished eighth in the javelin at 92-01. Hernandez had a distance of 78-02. 

Porscha Polanowski was 10th in the pole vault at 7-06. 

Johanning took third with a personal best of 15-05 in the long jump.
