Girls Finish Runner-Up At Owensville Quad

Competing for the first time in 11 days, Sullivan’s girls took second place Tuesday at the Owensville Quad.

The host Dutchgirls dominated the field with 118 points. Sullivan had 84 points, while Helias came in third with 79. New Haven finished fourth with 65 points and Cuba 11.

Sullivan came away with six first-place finishes. Reagan Thomure and Bria Jones won sprint events; two relay teams came out on top; Kristin Lucas won the shot put and Mallory Shetley claimed the high jump.

Thomure had a time of 13.5 seconds in the 100-meter dash. Jones took first in the 200-meter dash in 27.4 seconds. Hanna Johanning came in second in 28.1 seconds and Thomure was fourth in 29.27 seconds. Kya Harbour finished sixth in 30.18 seconds.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Thomure, Johanning, Riley Lock and Jones finished first in 53.89 seconds.

The 4x200-meter relay team of Harbour, Lock, Claudia Dace and Thomure also took first, finishing in 1:59.62.

Lucas took the shot put event with a distance of 32-03.50. Emily Hernandez came in eighth at 26-10.

Shetley won the high jump with a height of 4-6.

In the 1,600-meter run, Maggie Jones took fifth in 6:19.46.

Emma Campbell came in fourth in the 3,200-meter run in 16:21.44.

Casey Licklider finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in 1:02.27. Zariah Richards took sixth in 1:03.96.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Maggie Jones, Dace, Madison Douthit and Baylee Coats finished second in 11:48.04.

Lucas finished runner-up in the discus event with a distance of 89-01. Hernandez took fourth at 74-11.

In the long jump, Johanning finished third at 13-10.25. Harbour took sixth at 13-02.25.

Emily Halmick came in fourth in the triple jump at 28-10. Maggie Jones was fifth at 27-05.50.
