Four Medal At Hermann Invitational

Sullivan had four medalists Tuesday at the Hermann Invitational.

Isiah Huskey took fifth place for the boys. Emily Willman finished sixth for the girls.

Jonathan Krygiel was 17th in the boys race and Loren Halmick took 19th for the girls.

Girls

Willman’s time was 21:02.20 and she was separated by Owensville’s Mekayla Gibson by just a second.

Union’s Anna Brakefield won the event, which featured 62 runners. Brakefield’s winning time was 20:18.50.

Owensville’s Kendra Hults, Union’s Ella Coppinger and Hermann’s Morgan Miller were second through fourth.

Hermann’s Katy Menke, Chamois’ Katie Keilholz, Hermann’s Clara Scheible and Owensville’s Katherine Candrl finished sixth through 10th.

Halmick had a time of 23:45.97 and came in 19th. She was followed on her team by Madison Douthit, who was 31st in 24:47.47.

Adia Halmick was 34th and finished in 25:25.03. Kayleigh Willman took 44th and crossed the finish line at 26:43.40.

Maddie Joslin’s time was 29:21.96. Summer Redd finished in 30:44.38. Gwen Chambers came in at at 30:53.33. Brianna Bullock timed at 32:16.33 and Paige Helms at 37:33.64.

Owensville won the team championship with 48 points, holding off host Hermann, which had 54.

Union came in third with 64 points and New Haven was fourth with 75. Sullivan had 109 and took fifth. Lighthouse Prep Academy was sixth.

Boys

Huskey landed in the top five with a time of 17:47.22, establishing Sullivan’s best time.

Hermann’s Dalton Gleeson and Carter Hemeyer finished on top in first and second respectively. Gleeson finished in 16:58.23.

New Bloomfield’s Nathan Hinrichs and Union’s Dominic Beine came in third and fourth.

Owensville’s Austin Terry, New Bloomfield’s Caleb Distler, Hermann’s Jake Weber, Union’s Gabriel Hoekel and Hermann’s Brayden Brown finished out the top 10.

Krygiel had a time of 18:54.26, which gave him 17th. Chase Walker finished 33rd in 20:28.90. Walker Hardy was 48th in 23:33.98. Dakota Phegley came in at 26:08.75 and Zachery McKellips at 26:35.66.

Hermann cruised to the title with 37 points, besting Owensville, which had 80.

Union followed with 84 points. New Haven came in fourth with 86 and New Bloomfield fifth with 105. Sullivan had 134 and took sixth. St. James came in seventh with 161.
