Farrell, Woodcock Selected To All-Area Team
Owen Farrell and Jordan Woodcock were selected to the Washington Missourian All-Area basketball team for the 2019-2020 season.
Farrell was a second team pick and Woodcock an honorable mention.
Farrell averaged 14 points, four rebounds and three assists per game, while Woodcock averaged 10 points per game.
Head coach Dino McKinney finished third in the coach of the year voting.
McKinney guided a young Eagles squad to a 14-12 record and the No. 1 seed in the district tournament.
In his nine seasons at Sullivan, McKinney’s teams have never finished below .500.
The top honors went to St. James’ Andrew Branson and head coach Ben Smith.
Branson was player of the year and Smith coach of the year.
Branson dominated the voting, finishing with 75 points.
Hermann’s Trent Anderson received 26 points and Washington’s Todd Bieg had 12.
New Haven’s Luke Gerlemann had three points. Farrell, Borgia’s Alex Brinkmann and Washington’s Ryan Hoerstkamp each had two points.
In coach of the year voting, Smith received 53 points. Washington’s Grant Young had 33 points and McKinney 25. New Haven’s Aaron Pierick received five points.
