Eagles Wrestling Wins Second Straight District Championship

As the final matches began Saturday at the Class 2 District 2 tournament, the championship never seemed in doubt for Sullivan.

With a 50-point lead in hand, the Eagles were well on their way to a second straight title.

Sullivan racked up 204 points, advanced all 14 of their wrestlers to sectionals, emerged with four champions and coasted to the District 2 championship.

Dillon Witt, Ty Shetley, Kyler Martin and Jeremiah Rodriguez all topped the podium.

Curtis Rall and Adam Peregoy finished second.

Dominic Ransom, Draysen Nolie, Jordan Rice and Wyatt Medlock took third.

John Johnson, Colton Brendel, Ethan Hurt and Bennett Sherrell each finished fourth.

The Eagles will be back in action at sectionals.
