Eagles Season Ends At Sectional Meet

Sullivan’s golf season came to an end Monday at the Class 3 Sectional 2 meet in St. Charles.

Cody McKinney, Kaleb White and Jacob Andreasson came up short in qualifying for the state meet.

McKinney shot 88 to finish in a tie for 35th. 

White shot 90 and tied for 41st.

Andreasson shot 92 and finished 45th.

Priory narrowed out MICDS for the team championship, shooting 316 to the Rams’ 318.

Westminster Christian Academy shot 322 and finished third.

St. Francis Borgia carded a 329 and took fourth.

Warrenton shot 336 and finished fifth. St. Dominic shot 339 for sixth. St. Charles shot 360 to take seventh and Rolla came in eighth after shooting 361.

Borgia’s Zach Unnerstall was the top medalist, carding a 74. 

Priory’s Alex Garza and Westminster’s Jack Wooldridge tied for second.

Priory’s Peter Weaver took fourth. MICDS’ Henry Mikula and Warrenton’s Travis Toebben tied for fifth.

Hannibal’s Preston Bennett and St. Dominic’s Joseph Fuchs tied for seventh.

MICDS’ Jeffrey Desloge and Samuel Hanser tied for ninth.

There was a four-way tie for 11th between MICDS’ Cal Barton, Westminster’s Lane Davis, Warrenton’s Brenden Day, St. Dominic’s Bryce Kelly and Priory’s Gulshan Kodwani.

Another four-way tie for 16th saw St. Dominic’s Kyle Kelley, Borgia’s Brady Linz, Parkway North’s David Schilp and Westminster’s Cole Willyard all shoot 82.

That was the cut-off point for state qualifiers.

Other area golfers who participated were Union’s Jacob Towell (22nd), Borgia’s Clayton Swartz (27th), Borgia’s Mark Maguire (31st) and St. Clair’s Justin Hoffman (35th),
