Eagles Golf Finishes Fifth At District Tournament

Three Sullivan golfers are moving on to sectionals after their success Monday at the Class 3 District 3 tournament at the Franklin County Country Club.

Cody McKinney netted all-district honors with a 10th place finish. Jacob Andreasson and Kaleb White extended their seasons finishing 21st and 22nd respectively.

Jordan Woodcock and Tanner Jackson also competed, falling just short. Woodock took 27th and Jackson 31st.

Overall, the Eagles finished fifth and shot 352. Their collective score was higher than any other Four Rivers Conference school in the nine-team tournament.

The top three were led by private schools Westminster Christian Academy, Priory and St. Francis Borgia.

The three were separated by just a few strokes.

Westminster claimed the team title by carding a 315 and fended off Priory by one stroke. Borgia came in third at 319.

Rolla finished fourth by shooting 334.

Sullivan’s 352 was a season-best and they defeated sixth-place Union by 31 strokes. The Wildcats shot 383.

St. Clair shot 384 and finished seventh.

Pacific was eighth and shot 422. Salem came in ninth after shooting 451.

McKinney shot 80; Andreasson carded an 88, White shot 89; Woodcock 95 and Jackson 99.

Priory’s Peter Weaver was the individual champion, shooting 72. Borgia’s Zach Unnerstall shot 73 and took second. Union’s Garrett Klenke carded a 75 and took third. St. Clair’s Justin Hoffman was fourth after shooting a 76. Prior’s Gulshan Kodwani and Westminster’s Jack Wooldridge tied for fifth, shooting 77. 

Westminster’s Lane Davis and Cole Willyard both shot 78 and tied for seventh. 

Rolla’s Jeriah Jordan shot 79 and came in ninth.

Rolla’s Evan Colench, Prior’s Alex Garza and Borgia’s Mark Maguire and Clayton Swartz tied for 11th, shooting 81.

Westminster’s Luke Burkey and Benjamin Parres shot 82 and tied for 15th.

Borgia’s William Warden shot 84 and finished 17th.

Borgia’s Brady Linz and Rolla’s Evan Moore shot 85 and tied for 18th.

Priory’s Nicholas Seifried shot 86 and was 20th.

Rolla’s Jack Gesauldi and White both shot 89 to tie for 22nd.

Union’s Jacob Towell shot 92 and was 24th.

Other Union golfers included Hunter Grafrath (104), Devin Gaither (112) and Trevor Baker (113).

St. Clair’s golfers included Calvin Juergens (100), Ryan Bozada (104), Brandon Gallegos (104) and Ethan Talleur (110).

Pacific had Jared Hootman (96), Gage Crowell (97), Gavin Bukowsky (107), Devin Casey (122) and James Anding (133).

Owensville had Hunter Hutchison (123), Blaine Reed (124) and Gage Barnett (139).
