Eagles Defeat Park Hills Central At Home Meet

Sullivan had several bright spots Friday in their only home meet of the season against Cameron, Park Hills Central and Dexter.

The Eagles picked up a victory against Central, were narrowly beaten by Dexter and drew even on the mat against Cameron, only to lose by forfeits.

The meet ended on a sour note when senior Brendan Labbee suffered an arm injury that cut his match short against Caleb Worland.

Central

Sullivan won handily 59-18.

Dillon Witt (106) pinned Garrett Smith in 1 minute, 41 seconds. Isaac Peregoy (145) won by technical fall against Blake Bolin. Ian Kilburn (152) pinned Clayton McDonald in 45 seconds.

Alec McCormick (160) pinned William Mayberry in 1 minute, 2 seconds. Evan Shetley (170) pinned Jacob Looney in 2 minute, 47 seconds. Tristan Brown (285) pinned Michael Weinhold in 1 minute, 18 seconds.

Labbee (113), Kobie Blankenship (138), Trey Eplin (182) and Drake Hill (220) won by forfeit.

Both teams were open at 195. Sullivan was open at 126.

Gavin Ward pinned Ethan Hines (120) in 1 minute, 17 seconds. Kade Willis pinned Ransom Dudley in 3 minutes, 30 seconds.

Dexter

Sullivan led Dexter going into the final two matches, but the Bearcats picked up 12 points to win 35-34.

Dudley won a 5-4 decision against Trevor McDonald. Blankenship pinned Wyatt Parker in 2 minutes, 35 seconds. Peregoy won a 9-0 decision against Mason Keena. Kilburn took an 11-4 decision against Wyatt Chastain. Shetley pinned Parker VanSlyke in 1 minute, 38 seconds.

Witt was pinned by Bryston Pemberton. Seth Harris pinned Labbee. Hines lost by technical fall to Cutter Cornett. Brown fell to Christian Yarber.

Sullivan was open at 126 and 220. Both teams were open at 195. Eplin and McCormick won by forfeit.

Cameron

Sullivan won five matches to Cameron’s four, but the Eagles were open at four weight classes and lost 48-26.

Witt won by sudden victory against Coleman Oxford. Blankenship pinned Tristan Brown in four minutes. Peregoy won a 9-2 decision against Kayne Lamison. McCormick won by technical fall against Danny Gibbs. Shetley had a 7-1 decision against Aaron Anders. Eplin pinned Camren Hedgpeth in two minutes.

Thorin Green pinned Hines. Grant Thompson pinned Dudley. Joe Bryant pinned Brown.
