Eagles Break Through With First District Championship

They came to districts with lofty expectations.
They left as champions.
In Sullivan's 20th wrestling season, the program finally ascended to the top Saturday as they beat out Dexter for the Class 2 District 1 championship at St. Clair High School.
Four wrestlers -- Dillon Witt, Kobie Blankenship, Evan Shetley and Tristan Brown -- reached the top of the podium, winning first in their respective weight classes.
Trey Eplin and Kyler Martin finished second. Ethan Hurt and Carter Dace came in third. Ty Shetley and Ransom Dudley took fourth to give the Eagles 10 state qualifiers, tying last season's record.
