Davis Selected As New Head Football Coach

Sullivan High School is pleased to announce that Cody Davis has been selected to be the next head football coach. Davis is a history teacher at Sullivan and has been an assistant coach at the school for the past six years.

The process of finding a new head coach took place over the past month with the resignation of previous head coach, Jimmy Tucker. There were a number of excellent coaching candidates interviewed for the position. Sullivan High School Activities Director Jason Merkel said, “Coach Davis’s passion and first-hand understanding of our school and our football program has been clear since the day he was hired at Sullivan six years ago. He has a strong football background and has formed terrific relationships with our student-athletes.

Davis will be the 19th head coach in Sullivan’s 52-year history.

Davis is married to his wife, Annice, and they have three children, Jackson (7), Truman (5) and Harrison (1).

The Eagles open up their season August 30th, 2019 at Hillsboro.
