Central Shoots Past Eagles

Wade Scherffius scored 23 points, Breven McMullen had 20 and the Central Rebels rolled to a 70-56 win Monday over Sullivan.

The Eagles (11-11) fell for the third straight game despite shooting nearly 50 percent beyond the arc. Sullivan hit 13 of 28 3-point attempts, but were less successful inside. They attempted just two free throws and had 12 rebounds.

Central (16-9) led 19-16 after one quarter and 36-28 at the half. Sullivan was unable to slow the Rebels attack in the second half, being outscored 34-28.

Landon Hoffman had 15 points to lead Sullivan. He hit four 3-pointers. Caleb Todd scored 13 and was 3 of 7 beyond the arc.

Austin Frye pumped in 10 points off the bench, while Cody McKinney finished with six. Cameron Cunningham scored five, Jacob Hatcher had three and Austin Lewis and Jacob Rohrer two. McKinney led the Eagles with seven assists.
