Boys Track Takes Fourth At Owensville Quad

Sullivan’s boys took fourth on Wednesday at the Owensville Quad, grabbing one first-place finish and four runner-ups.

Owensville led the field by a wide gap. The Dutchmen tallied 145 points. Helias took second with 72 points. New Haven was third with 63 points and Sullivan came in with 62 points. Cuba had 19 points.

Ross Farris brought home first place for the Eagles with the top finish in the 100-meter. Farris had a time of 11.86 seconds, edging out New Haven’s Keagan Huff.

Teammate Jason Blankenship finished third in 12.05 seconds and Ethan Krygiel was fourth in 12.25 seconds.

Trevor Key had a pair of second-place finishes in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdle events. Key’s time was 16.13 seconds in the 110-meter. He had a time of 48.57 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles. Key came in second to Owensville’s Sean Irwin in both event.

Alec McCormick took second in the long jump. McCormick had a distance of 17-00.25. Blaine Blankenship was second in the triple jump at 36-07.

Samuel Walker and Logan Willette took fifth and sixth respectively in the 400-meter. Walker had a time of 1:02.99. Willette’s time was 1:03.04.

Brendon Hager finished eighth in the 800-meter run in 2:39.25. Willette was ninth in 2:46.66.

Ethan Light came in fourth in the 1,600-meter run in 5:17.94. Isiah Huskey was ninth at 5:56.53.

Sullivan’s 4x100-meter relay team took fourth. The team was made up of Jason Blankenship, Balor Bartolotta, Blaine Blankenship and Farris.

Tyler Hesse took fifth in the shot put with a distance of 40-01. Drake Hill came in eighth at 38-05. Trevor Hamblin was 10th.

Hesse came in fourth in the discus at 84-09. Lucas Openlander was ninth, Hamblin 10th, Timothy Ryan 11th, Jacob Smith 12th and Derick Johnson 13th.

Jason Blankenship was third in the high jump with a height of 5-6. Bode Janish took fourth at 5-4.

Jason Blankenship also finished eighth in the long jump at 15-11. Austin Finch took 10th.

McCormick had a sixth-place finish in the triple jump at 34-10.
