Boys Take Second, Girls Third At St. James Invitational

Sullivan’s boys cross country team finished runner-up Wednesday at the St. James Invitational, while the girls came in third.

Carter Adams attained another first-place finish as he crossed the finish line at 17:19.70, which was 41 seconds faster than Vienna’s Caleb Horman. Horman took second place.

Ethan Light had his best finish of the season for the Eagles, timing at 18:29.70 and fifth place. 

Jonathan Krygiel was 12th and came in at 19:09.40. John Thomas was 16th and had a time of 19:15.90. Samuel Walker was 35th in 21:26.80. Isiah Huskey ran, but his time was not counted.

The Eagles had 59 points and trailed North County. North County tallied just 29 points.

Cuba was third with 103 points, Salem fourth with 110 points, Dixon fifth with 120 points, St. James sixth with 123 points and Viburnum seventh with 133.

Girls

Loren Halmick was Sullivan’s top finisher as she came in fifth with a time of 23:03.40. 

Madison Douthit, Vitorria Polanowski, Porscha Polanowski, Tracy Cotter and Kayleigh Willman also finished as medalists.

Douthit came in eighth at 23:15. Vittoria Polanowski was ninth at 23:22.60. Porscha Polanowski took 17th in 24:16.80. Cotter took 19th in 24:20.70 and Willman was 20th in 24:24.50.

Adia Halmick finished 25th in 25:51.10. Maddy Brauninger was 32nd in 28:24.30. Summer Redd was 34th in 29:06.10 and Jillian Davis was 42nd in 34:09.20.

North County finished at the top of the standings with 40 points, edging New Haven’s 45 points. Sullivan had 52 points and Cuba 97 points.

JV Boys

Brendan Hager took 18th with a time of 23:41.10 and Jesse New was 20th in 23:57.60.
