Boys Capture Fourth At Hermann Invitational

Sullivan’s boys track and field team took fourth Tuesday at the Hermann Invitational on the strength of eight top three finishes, including two victories, and seven more fourth and fifth place finishes.

The Eagles had 98 points total.

Pacific (130) topped the field. St. James (121) came in second and Centralia (118.5) took third. Owensville (57.5) slotted behind Sullivan and rounded out the top five.

South Callaway and Montgomery County (43) tied for sixth. Wright City (41) was eighth. Hermann (29) took ninth. Linn (28) finished 10th. 

New Haven (22) was 11th, Cuba (8) was 12th and Fulton (2) took 13th.

Sullivan was led by victories from Ethan Light in the 800-meter run and the 4x100-meter relay team.

Light’s time of 2:05.14 was a personal record and his first victory of the season. 

The 4x100-meter relay team of Jason Blankenship, Balor Bartolotta, Blaine Blankenship and Ross Farris took first in 44.72 seconds.

Blaine Blankenship was second in the triple jump. He had his season best distance of 42-01. 

Johnathan Krygiel ran the 400-meter dash in 54.93 seconds for a personal best and third place. Jason Blankenship took fifth in 55.17 seconds, also a personal best.

Trevor Key took third in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.64 seconds, shaving a quarter-second off his best time.

Tyler Hesse finished third in the shot put with a distance of 42-03. Drake Hill came in fourth at 41-03.75. Hesse took fifth in the discus. He had a personal best of 111-04.

Bartolotta came in fourth in the 100-meter dash with his season best time of 11.69 seconds. Farris took fifth in 11.72 seconds.

Key came in fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in 43.07 seconds. 

Alec McCormick came in fifth in the javelin at 125-10. 

Isiah Huskey ran the 3,200-meter in 11:27.23. Tim Bandy finished in 13:30.49.

The 4x200-meter relay team of Bode Janish, Jason Hurt, Key and Krygiel finished sixth in 3:50.99. 

The 4x800-meter relay team of Logan Willette, Samuel Walker, Brendon Hager and Light was eighth in 10:11.25.

Jason Blankenship took sixth in the high jump at 5-8. In the long jump, he had a distance of 17-07.25. McCormick came in behind at 17-06.50.
